Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
lol sounds about right!

message 203: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments 7 more series added! :DDD
And finished Neanderthal Marries Human (Knitting in the City, #1.5) by Penny Reid book. (The sequel). It was a great read! And it actually made me cry of happiness :D

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Yay! I've heard the whole series is so good!
Which 7 series did you add? I always seem to be adding more than I finish

message 205: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Brittany
33. The Rain Wild Chronicles [0/4]
34. Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mystery [0/5]
35. A Court of Thorns and Roses [0/6]
36. Love & Gelato [0/3]
37. The Folk of the Air [0/3]
38. Shadowvale [0/4]
39. Chaos Seeds [3/8]

And I've also bought 2, 3 books in the Knitting in the City Series. It would be a waste not to read those as the 1 and 1.5 gave me so much happiness.

Me too me too !

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Wow! Sounds excellent! I've planned on reading it somewhere in October. About 10th or maybe earlier. I'll definitely let you know here :)

I've also finished reading Everything Beautiful Is Not Ruined by Danielle Younge-Ullman and it is indeed an underrated book. Enjoyed it so much! Don't know why but it reminded me of Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng . Basically the story is different and the characters are also very different yet vibes are so similar with this coziness and at the same time something bitter-sweet.

message 210: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Everything Beautiful sounds amazing Elena. I have added it to the wishlist.

message 211: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Brittany I wish you enjoy it as I did :)

message 212: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I finished Love Hacked (Knitting in the City, #3) by Penny Reid recently and absolutely loved it! Actually I love all the books in the series I've already read.
And jumped right into reading Beauty and the Mustache (Knitting in the City, #4; Winston Brothers, #0) by Penny Reid . So addictive!

message 213: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've just finished Beauty and the Mustache (Knitting in the City, #4; Winston Brothers, #0) by Penny Reid and loved it! Let's continue the in-love with the series thing and jump right into the next one :) I think I'm going to finish the series this month as it goes really fast.

message 214: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
That's awesome Elena!

message 215: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Finished Ninja At First Sight (Knitting in the City, #4.75) by Penny Reid and Happily Ever Ninja (Knitting in the City, #5) by Penny Reid . Oh my! The male character here is a-freaking-mazing!

message 216: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've also finished Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron and it has a strong idea and building with a very poor ending. I'm actually angry with this book. It feels like author hates men. And she made women so vulnerable and weak creatures. Really! She just made me feel so miserable being a woman. I've never had this feeling.

message 217: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
That is super upsetting Elena. I wanted to read Cinderella is Dead but I keep hearing that it starts well and goes downhill.

message 218: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Oh no, that sounds awful! Especially because it sounds like such an interesting read!

message 219: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments It's not as awful as it seems so maybe you like some parts of the book (the first half was really interesting, that's why I gave the book 2 stars, not 1). And for the same reason I was very disappointed to read till the end :( But I was really into the book and expectations were high. Maybe, just maybe without all those prerequisites combined the book might be more interesting and not so bad.

message 220: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Ok... Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid series finished and all the books were great!

BUT! Added 2 more series:
44. A Cookie House Mystery Series [1/3]
45. The Daoshi Chronicles [0/2]

message 221: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
That's good. At least there were some enjoyable parts and it wasn't a complete bust.

Oh no 😂 That's always how it goes... you finish one series only to start two more. I totally feel ya!

message 222: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Lili Right! Those series... never-ending story :D

message 223: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Finally I have only 3 books on my 'currently reading' list! One fantasy, one non-fiction and one manga. I don't believe it could stay the same way till tomorrow but I'll try not to start a new book for as long as possible :D

message 224: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Omg I know the feeling Elena! 😂 I always have at least 2 books going at the same time, even though my goal is always to only read 1 at a time. It never works out for me 😂

message 225: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Same here but my goal is to have 3 books at a time. And even now I already have 4...

message 226: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Oh no 😂 I guess you were right in that it wasn't going to stay like that for long. Lol.

message 227: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Lol nice Elena! I feel you there. I currently only have two on mine which has been really rare lately.

message 228: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Lili it's always like that for me :D actually I've started 3 more books but haven't added to GR current reads yet.

@Brittany I believe that's because of moving process :D Just wait for a bit... :DDD

message 229: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I love having multiple going! I almost always have three at least - one physical, one kindle and one audio - but often times more than that!

message 230: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Same here but I choose different genres. Nonfiction, romance/cosy mystery, fantasy/sci-fi/thriller, and several mangas. Now I'm reading 10...

message 231: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I do usually try to mix up the genres as well! Currently both my kindle and audio are contemporaries but that's rare for me.. need to pick a good fantasy to mix in there lol

message 232: by Brittany (last edited Nov 04, 2020 08:46AM) (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
I usually have 3 too, sometimes 4 or 5. Ideally of different genres otherwise things get a little muddled. Ooo multiple contemps at once are hard Heather! What fantasy are you going to throw into the mix?
I also typically have a pile of manga/comics but I read those all at once so they never end up on my currently reading shelf.

And Elena I'm sure you are right, next week it will probably be higher for me again!

message 233: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments @Brittany - I'm reading Ugly Love on kindle and listening to Well Met on audio, so while both contemp they do have very different feels to them which is helpful. Not sure which fantasy I want to add in yet, I keep skimming my shelves wanting something to jump out but nothing has yet.

message 234: by Jo (new)

Jo Elliott | 1838 comments I didn't use to read multiple books at once, I was more of a one at a time kind of girl, but since I started using Netgalley, I've always had at least two books on the go, now it's commonly three or four.

message 235: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
10 Elena? 😲 Wow! I don't think I could ever do that. I think the highest I've gone is 5 or 6? It mostly happens when I don't know what to read and I just start book after book until I find something I'm in the mood for.

message 236: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Liliana sometimes I go too crazy and read 15 at a time. I don't know why I'm like that but I like switching books during the day (like reading one book while having breakfast, another one listen while going for a walk, one more listen while cooking, one more read while having a break in between working sessions, 2-5 during the weekend etc). It may be crazy but works great for me.

message 237: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've just got a new job and December is going to be a crazy busy month for me. I'll try to read at least something.

message 238: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I decided to drop tracking my books (just leave it only for goodreads). The system I used is so overwhelming and I just can't spend so much time to keep it updated :)

message 239: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
Completely fair! I kept wanting another way to track but its far too much work and takes away from reading time!

message 240: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Brittany Exactly! All the planning and tracking things suppose to help you but when it doesn't, it is the time to simplify :)

message 241: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've finally bought Rhythm of War (The Stormlight Archive, #4) by Brandon Sanderson , The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) by Brandon Sanderson , The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3) by Brandon Sanderson , The Poppy War (The Poppy War, #1) by R.F. Kuang . 2021 is definitely going to be interesting!

message 242: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
So excited to hear your thoughts about the rest of the mistborn trilogy!!
I want a copy of the Poppy War so badly

message 243: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments So excited to read the rest of the Mistborn. And actually all these 4 books. Sanderson is one of my favourite authors and the last book (I've never read anything of this author) but the book has an amazing description I'm in love with.

message 244: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
I've heard so much good about Poppy War and the description sounds perfect :)

message 245: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Actually this book is my #1 to read in January :D
