ALGERNON BLACKWOOD is a super important author, and I love to add more PUBLIC DOMAIN books/classic reads to my list of books read. So, I happily 2nd The Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood. Thanks. --Jen from Quebec :0)

It's YA Romance... how does this end up here?!

No worries, it won't end up on the poll.
I'll second The Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood. I've never read any of his work, and this story is public domain. Ease of access is always nice. :)

+1 for The Wendigo
As much as I admire Blackwood, are you all sure about picking a short story for this month's read?
Jon Recluse wrote: "As much as I admire Blackwood, are you all sure about picking a short story for this month's read?"I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm fine with it being a short story, especially since we have two group reads each month.
I voted for The Manitou, but I just checked my state library's ILL database, and none of the libraries have it. I don't want to buy it, so I'll be voting for something else in the poll. The Wendigo being free for Kindle is a big plus for my budget minded self :-).

Makes sense to me.

For some reason my library had like every other book by Graham Masterton available for order except The Manitou. 🤷🏻

Omg that reminds me of a story my mom use to tell me & my sister when we were really, really little. She called him Bloody Bones. He lived under a house and got everyone until a axe wielding Mom saves the whole family. We would all get up to send Dad off to work and she’s tell us this story when we laid back down. I don’t remember being in school.... so I was that young. I always thought Mom made it up.
I'll nominate
The Devil's Woods
BTW: I have read an advance copy of The Only Good Indians and it was great!
