I took your advice and started this one (like I don't already have about 30 series on the go LOL). Anyway, its awesome. I just finished book two. I love Rachel's snark.

Question for those Iris Johansen fans out there. I have become addicted to the Kendra Michaels series, and have decided I will need to read Eve Duncan as well, since I have OCD on needing to know the backstory. The question is...does this mean I also need to read Catherine Ling books?

Wish I could help but I haven't read this author yet.

I have to give a shout out to the Lost in Oblivion series, written by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott. Each story is incredibly well written and this isn't your typical rock band series. These ladies know music and the heart of musicians. It begins with a full length prequel that sets up the series perfectly.
I'm loving it.

Lol! There are a few I haven't started:) My sisters-in-law love this series.

I second the recommendations for the Daughter & Bone series, Mercy Thompson and Kate Daniels. For thriller readers, I completely recommend the John Rain series - starting with
, previously published as Rain Fall. If you're an audiobook listener, go with the the narrations by the author. In general, I don't recommed authors as narrators but he's one of the few who has talent for that. He's simply excellent. Here's my review of the first book narrated by some other guy who's awesome but he only narrates a few books in the series, so for consistency's sake, go with the author.
Well, since Eve Duncan is a nice big series that is not available to me on KU or Scribd, I guess I will slowly plow through that one and then if Ling is a big connection I'll just have to branch out lol

Well, you all read my raving posts about the individual books in the Barefoot Bay Brides Trilogy. So, I'm officially raving about the entire trilogy. And, it's not a prerequisite to read the series where this one was spun from but I highly recommend the Barefoot Bay series, too. These are not run-of-the-mill contemporary romances.

I skipped that one and intend to go back and read it.

Jonetta, Based on your ravings (lol) I just downloaded books 1,2 and 4 of the Barefoot Bay series from my library. They don't have 3, totally weird, so I'll probably have to buy that one.
I've been remiss at keeping this up to date!
I gobbled up Karin Slaughter's Grant County series. It's raw and hard to put down. And, you've got to read this one before you start her next series, Will Trent. I'm almost finished with that one and it's just as brilliant.

Monica and Lauren pushed me to start the Maiden Lane series by Elizabeth Hoyt and I'll be forever grateful. I read the first and switched to audio for the next two. The narrator, Ashford Mcnab, is great! It's a very different historical romance series.

That's just not right.

Totally agree with Jonetta's recommendations of the Maiden Lane series, the Grant County series and the Will Trent series. As a matter of fact I just finished another book in the Will Trent series about an hour ago. Another winner!

I will let you know when I finish and then you can let me know when we start next one!

I am caught up with Jenn McKinlay's cupcake bakery mystery and highly recommend it. I have given all seven books five stars.

I just posted a series sale for Cold Justice by Toni Anderson in our Series Bargain topic and realized I'd never talked about it here. Toni is one of my auto-buy authors, specifically this romantic suspense series. She develops her characters very well and the suspense comes first. No TSTL characters here, though they have challenging moments. And, I love the romance with her imperfect couples. Highly recommend.
Just learned this weekend that Roxanne St. Claire is introducing a new trilogy to the Barefoot Bay franchise. It's called Barefoot Bay Timeless and the heroes are more mature. Additionally, all of the books connected to Barefoot Bay are now in a secondary series on Goodreads titled Barefoot Bay Universe. Now you have a reference for the reading order of all the connected series.

I follow her on FB and know you liked her but didn't realize it was a MUST read!
Yes, she is for me. I've got the 5th book on my plan this month. I bought the book but also won the audiobook so I'm switching to listening. I'll definitely be buying the 6th.
I've now got the first five Anderson books downloaded to my Kindle. Is anyone doing a buddy or group read of this series?

I read the first book already but am up for a buddy read of book #2 next week if you want, Charlene.

Lauren, I have to go back and read the first book, since my memory is too short term to remember it from before. I won't feel bad if you want to forge ahead without me. I'm probably more geared toward early June at this point. Thanks for the offer, though!
I just posted a message about the first book in this series being free today on Amazon and I must encourage anyone I care about (that means all of you) to read this series! Thanks to Quynh for introducing it to us in the J. D. Robb group.
I love the Southern Comfort series by Lisa Clark O'Neill! It's one of the best in romantic suspense and I've loved EVERY book in the series to date (reading one now). It's an auto-buy series, one of the few I pre-order. Try it now that the first book is free today. (FYI, the series begins with two of the brothers' already married and the author recently wrote their stories as prequels. I'm reading the second of three right now so it doesn't matter if you read them last or later.)

One more thing...
Her covers are brilliantly connected to the stories. I've now developed the habit of trying to figure them out and where they are revealed in the books.

I recently posted a discount for the first book in the Darla Cavannah series by Gary Gusickand here are a few words about the stories.
I requested the first book from NetGalley because I thought it sounded interesting and ended up being blown away by the freshness and authenticity of the writing. At the time, it wasn't planned as a series but because of the success of the first book, it's continuing. I just finished the third (4.5 stars) and am still enamored of the stories and writing. This series is a gem.
Here's my review of the first book, The Last Clinic.
