A brand new full length (365 pages) set in Barefoot Bay! New York Times bestselling author Roxanne St. Claire takes readers back to the beach with more of the “Barefoot Brides” -- destination wedding planners who are experts at dreamy “I do’s” but haven’t yet found their happily ever after.

As her two best friends settle into their happily ever afters, destination wedding designer Arielle Chandler is beginning to wonder if the promise of “The One” – one true love, meant only for her – is merely folklore passed down from her Native American grandmother. But when a mysterious man nearly mows her down on a hill overlooking Barefoot Bay, the legend of destined love suddenly feels very real. That is, until Ari learns of Luke McBain’s plans to demolish a piece of land she believes is sacred.

Luke isn’t proud of the fact that he spent ten years as a mercenary warrior, fighting battles for another country. With those dark days behind him, he’s focused on creating a new life instead of destroying others, so he’s moved to Barefoot Bay to launch a contracting business and build a house for an old friend. But when an enigmatic dark-eyed beauty steals his attention and stops his progress with her announcement that he is about to flatten a native burial ground, Luke has a new battle to fight.

While their immediate and potent attraction grows complicated, Luke and Ari discover the hills of Barefoot Bay could be hiding something far different – and even more valuable – than ancient art or graves. They are determined to discover the truth, but that will come at a cost. Will they risk their chance at once-in-a-lifetime love to uncover secrets that could change the landscape of Barefoot Bay forever?

I don’t know about you, but when I check out an author's bio, it’s usually because I’ve read a book I liked and wondered about the person behind it. Let's skip the formal bio and I'll give you the inside scoop on who Roxanne St. Claire really is.

First of all, call me Rocki. Everyone does. Evidently, when my mother brought me home from the hospital I seemed too scrawny and small to pull off “Roxanne” (she’d read Cyrano de Bergerac while pregnant or I would have been Judy) so they called me Rocki.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest of five (overachievers, every one), and fell in love with words and stories the summer I read Gone With The Wind. That year, for my twelfth birthday, my parents gave me a typewriter (with italic font – it was the coolest thing) and from that day on, I’ve had my fingers on a keyboard, pounding out love stories for fun. My AP English teacher taught me the two most important lessons an aspiring author ever needs: 1) verbs are the key to life and 2) a writer should get a real job. After attending UCLA and graduating with a degree in communications, I tried acting and television broadcasting. Oh, they aren’t real jobs? I learned that the hard way. I changed my last name from Zink to St. Claire because a news producer told me Roxanne Zink had too many harsh consonants for a TV personality – apparently Katie Couric didn’t get the memo. I got some fun gigs, and even met Tom Hanks when I did a guest appearance on Bosom Buddies. I liked on camera work, but wasn’t too crazy about starvation, so I moved to Boston and got that “real” job. In fact, I placed my foot on the bottom rung of the corporate ladder and didn’t look down until I’d climbed all the way up to the level of Senior Vice President at the world’s largest public relations firm. On the way up, I met the man of my dreams in an elevator. Two years later – in the same elevator! – he asked me to marry him and I wisely said yes.

I stayed in PR, moved to Miami, had a few babies, lost my home in a hurricane, built another one a few hours north and all along, I kept writing my “stories” for fun. One night, I read a particularly fabulous romance novel that changed my life for good. That night, I decided I wanted to make someone else feel as whole and happy as that author made me feel. (Everyone asks! It was Nobody’s Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.) With two small children and one big “real” job, writing my first novel wasn’t easy, but I did finish a manuscript that managed to get the attention of a literary agent. She told me to do one thing and one thing fast: write another book. (The first one is usually a “learner” book, honestly.) That second manuscript sold to Simon & Schuster’s Pocket Books and was released in 2003 as Tropical Getaway. Since then, I’ve written almost thirty more, in multiple genres, and long ago replaced the corporate ladder with the rollercoaster of publishing as a full-time novelist. Finally, writing is my real job.

Today, I live in a small beach community in Florida with my husband and two dogs. Our kids are off to college and law school, which means my nest is empty! I spend my time writing, working with the kids at my church, enjoying my husband's gourmet cooking, and hanging with my many writer friends. Of course, I love to read. I’m still crazy about words and stories and hope to write at least a hundred books in my lifetime. And, yes, verbs are the key to life. My favorites? Love. Work. Believe.

xoxo

See the complete series review on The Book Nympho

Throughout the series, Ari Chandler told both her partners that it's their destiny to meet The One. With each of them, she used her intuitive skills stemming from her Native American heritage to put their mates to the test. When she literally is run over by Luke McBain on a remote property, Ari recognizes him as her "The One," not knowing he's Gussie's long, lost brother. But, he's there to manage the construction of a mansion on property Ari believes is sacred. There's quite a bit of suspense with this one, too, as there's lots at stake with this property. As Ari and Luke, who also has a murky past, try to grapple with whether what they're feeling is real, they must also contend with outside dark forces in the meantime.

It's a lovely story and, like the others, incredibly romantic and sensual without being graphic. This was a fitting end to the series.

Barefoot in Pearls by Roxanne St. Claire is a 2015 South Street Publishing release. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third in the Barefoot Bay Brides trilogy, but can be read as a stand alone.

Karma, Fate, Destiny, call it what you will, but Arielle and Luke were meant to be. The instant Luke ran right over Ari and their eyes met, she knew... Luke was “ the one”. Don't believe in love at first sight? This story just might change your mind.

Ari is one quarter American Indian. She had a very close relationship with grandmother- “Grandma Good Bear”. She promised her grandmother she would wait for the right guy, “the one”, and so for two years she has been celibate. But, both of her best friends are now either married or about to be, and she is really starting to wonder if that guy is ever going to show up.

Luke really knows how to make an entrance into a person's life. While Arielle thought their meeting was proof her intuitions were right, Luke looked at it as mere coincidence. While Ari was convinced he was the one she has been waiting for, Luke is hell bent on avoiding anything that resembles love. That's not all that is impeding their relationship though. Luke is about to begin work on a piece of land that Arielle believes could be sacred. Luke needs the work, putting Ari in a difficult spot. Determined to do the right thing, Luke stalls the project.
In the meantime, he and Ari have some investigating to do, as well as some hard core soul searching.

I really enjoyed this story. Arielle, named after “The Little Mermaid”, has “feelings” about things and people that are uncanny, and while she isn't always right, for the most part she has a real knack for reading people. She is kind of offbeat, but is principled and sticks by those beliefs even when they are not popular, which I really admired.

Luke.. well my goodness! This guy's back story is really something. It's no wonder he is a little shy about getting involved with anyone. So, he fights against Ari's feelings that they belong together. One part of him knows she is right, but the other part of him is too afraid to admit it. He winds up being his own worse enemy sometimes.

The Native American backdrop was a nice touch. I love cultural stories because they add a deeper level of interest.
I also enjoyed the level of suspense when it seems Ari's probing may have stirred up some trouble for herself and Luke. What was on that piece of land that someone didn't want discovered and to what lengths would they go to keep Ari from upsetting their plans?

So, this story has a little something for everyone. A sweet and sensual love story, danger and suspense, and a little bit of a paranormal element, as well as humor. Luke can be really funny especially when trying to keep names straight. I loved, loved, loved the deeply romantic ending, giving all the naysayers out there regarding soul mates and love at first sight something to think about. 5 stars!

I loved this book! I could not put it down. This story is about Arielle Chandler and Luke McBain. Ari is the last of the Barefoot Brides to find love. Her grandmother was a Miwok Native American and Ari was raised with their folklore. Having never read anything to do with Native American's before, I just loved learning about their heritage. Ari is just waiting until she meets "The One". Luke is Gussie's brother, whom we met in Barefoot in Lace, and is in town to build a house for Cutter Valentine. Luke was previously in the French Foreign Legion. His back story was very interesting. You really empathize with his feelings towards love. After a chance meeting, Ari believes that Luke is "The One", unfortunately he doesn't believe in love because of his past. As he is starting the process to build Cutter's house, Ari believes the site may be an ancient Native American burial site. The story of determining if it was a burial site was so interesting. I loved how together Ari and Luke looked into everything and loved the suspense behind what was happening too. As usual in a Roxanne St. Claire book, the epilogue was perfect and very emotional. LOVED IT! Plus, there is a sneak peek of the next Barefoot Bay series, Barefoot Bay Undercover featuring everyone's favorite Gabriel Rossi!

I finished Barefoot in Pearls and frankly was at a bit of a loss as to why I didn’t have that usual warm feeling I get when I’ve just finished a book I loved. And I should have loved this book but I didn’t dammit. I’m just not certain why?
I loved Ariel our heroine. I enjoyed the whole Native American spiritual side (WooWoo) part of her. I did think that at around 30 years old she was sort of naïve to think that even when she found “The One” there wouldn’t ever be conflicts or issues to work through. I liked that St.Claire let her have doubts about her own beliefs making her feel human. In general I felt she was a wonderful character, intelligent, caring, sensual.
I liked Luke McBain, Gussie’s older brother whom we met briefly in her book. Even though the author used the overused, “I was burned by love once so I’ll never trust love again” trope. She certainly made his back story more than interesting. I loved the way he kept messing with Grandma Good Bear’s name.
I liked Gussie in this story. I enjoyed the conflict of interests that she created for her BFF Ari. I liked the way St Claire showed a different side of Gussie not only when she pleaded with Ariel not to do anything that would jeopardize Luke’s ability to remain near her but also when she called Ari up short (as only a true BFF can get away with) for being as she called it “stupid and stubborn.” Willow the other BFF gets less face time in this story because she and Nick spent much of the book on their honeymoon on Nate Ivory’s yacht.
I liked the fact that St. Claire gave Lacey Walker and her daughter Ashley and even her toddler Elijah a minor role in the story with a few appearences. She even gave the Barefoot Billionaires and their spouses a cameo or two so at least in two of their cases we got to see how their relationships were doing. I get that while her Barefoot Universe grows she can't include every character in every book butI honestly don’t understand why other than a brief mention of Tessa in the first book in the Barefoot Brides series, she has made the other three women (Zoe, Jossie and Tessa) who served as the main characters for the first four books non persons? I mean in this book between Willow’s wedding and the meeting at Lacey’s house she could have at least given the women who were Lacey’s BFF’s, business partners and play a key role in running the resort a little cameo like she did the billionaires. I’m sure it is about trying to promote interest in her Barefoot Billionaires novellas, but I still found it disappointing not getting even a little glimpse of the original group of friends I'd come to care about.
So the book had an interesting developing romance between Ariel and Luke, two likable main characters. It eventually had the normal amount of sexy for a St. Claire book. Main characters from previous books in this series and the Barefoot Universe were present to varying degrees. Along with the romance Roxanne added an element of suspense and danger to the story. There was a nice warm epilogue that was only partially devoted to promoting the next series in the Barefoot Universe,Barefoot Bodyguards. Seems like all the elements were there for me to gush over this book and give it a solid 5 stars. But the best I can do is 4 which is hardly a poor rating. Especially from me. For whatever reason I still can’t put into words, for me the total impact of this book just didn’t equal its individual parts. It was a very enjoyable story. IMHO just not as good as some of the previous ones in the series.

I loved this story so much!!!

I'm a huge fan of Roxanne St. Claire and count down each new release. I love her Barefoot Bay books and was so excited she extended her time in Barefoot Bay with the Barefoot Bay Brides series.

I absolutely loved Barefoot in Pearls. I knew it would take a special man to accept Arielle for who she was and I loved it was Luke McBain. First let me just say I loved that Luke calls her Arielle rather than Ari like everyone else. It made me fall pretty hard for Luke early on. Of course the fact that Ari knew Luke was "The One" when they first ran into one another was pretty romantic as well.

I love the twist and turns put in place to make Luke and Ari realize how much they loved one another. From the land she wants to preserve and he wants to demolish to his history from the French Foreign Legion. I loved that pragmatic Luke felt all that Ari was feeling yet didn't want to really voice those feelings the way she did.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from Luke when it came to dealing with the land issues. He wanted to stay in Florida so much, yet I felt his character would never do anything underhanded just to get the outcome he wanted. I think the more Luke supported Ari, the more I came to love him.

Barefoot in Pearls was an absolutely perfect read for me. I loved the romance and the suspense elements added to this story. I especially loved the set up for the next series of books from Roxanne St. Claire. I started with her romantic suspense books with the Bullet Catchers and can't wait to read the next adventure to take place in Barefoot Bay.

A part of Arielle Chandler that Grandma Good Bear told her was unique and so special. Some of her friends didn't believe her. It was a spiritual side, and the day she met Luke McBain was the morning of her Best friends wedding. It was when something fell out of the sky, and at that moment he ran right into her and knocked her over. It has to be a sign from the Universe. What was it telling her? Never ever did she feel like this before. A feeling Grandma told her about, was she right? Could it be? The legend? She just didn't know what happened just then. What until she find out who he really is...

Ari found out what Luke planned on doing to the land where she found the PEARLS where they met. It was going to be bulldozed, and a new house would be built..Nope not going to happen until she knew for sure what was on that hill. She needed to know. It could have something to do with her Native American Heritage. Ari would protect it at all cost.

Luke McBain was very much attracted to Ari Chandler, but things she told him did not make any sense to him. It wasn't until he really listened to her started, that's when they actually did make sense to him...He cared for her and agreed to make sure everything was ok with the property., before he would proceeded with construction..It just things they found became a little bizarre. So they worked together to find out the truth. What they find out becomes very interesting.

Must read book. The suspense and romance in this book is amazing, and just this moment when Ari explains a Native American tradition her Grandma told her it will really steal your breath away. It touched mine.

This is a romance novel with substance. The basic concept behind this novel was both enchanting and absolutely awe inspiring. The Native American history was fascinating and the romance was both sweet and difficult. It was all so real and palpable. The story was enriching, both emotionally and intellectually. This was more than just your typical romance, but the romance was definitely there in abundance. There are also some emotionally poignant moments that will leave readers breathless. The mystery behind parts of the story was so intriguing that I couldn’t get enough of it. Barefoot in Pearls can easily be read as a standalone novel. There are a few scenes where you’ll be missing a bit of the background, but these are few and far between.

St. Claire tells her story with strong, well developed characters that really enrich the story. The relationship between the main characters is so multifaceted and real. The melding of business and pleasure, beliefs and desires made the entire novel what it is. These key components of the relationship can be felt throughout the story.

As a whole, this was a romance that definitely stands out in the sea of romances. This is definitely an author that has found her way on to my ‘must read’ list.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

An amazing addition to the Barefoot Bay series of books. Filled with lots of old characters and introducing us to some new ones gives us hope of more books in the future set on this picturesque little island.

This is the story of Arielle Chandler and Luke McBain. She's determined to preserve what she feels is a Native American burial ground and he is just as determined to get a house built there. When she starts probing and asking questions, he has to agree there are more questions than answers.

This one has a bit of mystery and suspense in it and introduces a new security operation to the island. Hmmmm....I can think of lots of stories with that!!

You don't want to miss this one, I highly recommend it.

Review and author interview posted on Kindles & Wine

Even before I started reading Barefoot in Pearls , I knew I was going to love Arielle Chandler, aka Ari. I enjoyed her sensibilities and the feelings she shared about other people in the earlier Barefoot Bay Brides books. Although she has been teased over the years by her fellow bridal consultants and BFFs, Willow and Gussie, about her beliefs and “woo woo,” I enjoyed the different impact the teasing had on Ari in Barefoot in Pearls when it came from a man who could be “The One.” My favorite aspects of Ari’s character stemmed from her belief system, the influence of her grandmother, and her appreciation of her heritage. I also loved how she was willing to do anything to protect something that held great value and meaning for her.

Luke was introduced in Barefoot in Lace (he is Gussie’s brother) and is the complete opposite of Ari. He has made mistakes in his life, and it is those mistakes that led to him living overseas for years. When he decided to come back to the States, he planned to focus on his building contractor job and to reconnect with his sister in Barefoot Bay. He didn’t bargain for meeting anyone that would get him to rethink everything in his life. It is the tailspin Luke experienced (due to Ari) throughout Barefoot in Pearls that led to a perfect transformation in his character. I liked him from the beginning. I enjoyed his work ethic, his desire to do the right thing, and how he learned from his mistakes. His backstory was well-developed throughout the book, and without even knowing I wanted him to change, I began loving his character even more when he started listening to his heart instead of his head.

Together, Luke and Ari were amazing! It took a while for their feelings to evolve due to the vast differences in their beliefs, but as they discovered what made the other tick, the sparks flew! The mystery that was perfectly woven into the story also helped Ari and Luke’s relationship grow. As they put the pieces of the puzzle together, I felt they were not only solving the mystery of the land Luke was building on, but also starting to understand each other more and more. Ari and Luke brought the best out of each other. I loved the pacing of the story throughout and that St. Claire ended with the most beautiful epilogue I have ever read.

Even though Barefoot in Pearls could be read as a stand-alone story, I would suggest reading the other two books of this trilogy first. They provide a nice backdrop of the setting and set up the nuances of Ari’s belief system and her relationships with her friends. I enjoyed Barefoot in Pearls more having read the other two books first.

I also enjoyed how this last book in the trilogy gave a glimpse of what is to come in Barefoot Bay. It seems we may see more of Luke and Ari, as Luke’s business is key to St. Claire’s next trilogy, Barefoot Bay Undercover. I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am about that!

Bottom Line
Any Barefoot Bay readers will love Roxanne St. Claire’s latest book. Those who love a bit of mystery in their romance should give this a try. If you are a fan of a couple with very different beliefs that evolve in a story, Barefoot in Pearls will not let you down!

Barefoot in Pearls

Sizzling Chemistry, Heartfelt, Suspenseful, Steamy & Always Romantic...

All of the elements we've come to expect, eagerly anticipate and love in a St. Claire novel were chocked full in this, the third in the trilogy of the Barefoot Brides. While it easily stands alone, it was a true delight to read some of our favorite characters again like Lacey & Clay Walker from the original Barefoot Series "Barefoot in The Sand", as well as the main character's two best friends, Willow and Gussie from the first and second novels in this Barefoot Brides trilogy and a bit of fun with a few of our favorite billionaires from the Barefoot Billionaires novellas!!

In this exciting and heartwarming romance St. Claire takes you on a suspenseful, romantic adventure with our two main characters, Arielle Chandler and Luke McBain. Arielle, also known as "Ari" to her friends, is part Native-American but it is a very large part of her beliefs which was an integral part of her childhood instilled in her by her beloved Grandma Good Bear who was also a shaman. Her Grandmother taught her to love and respect the land and passed on to her a special gift of intuition which she does not ignore and believes in strongly. Arielle also believes that there is a special person, The One, a one true love for everyone. Seeing her two best friends find their true loves in the recent months has brought this awareness even more strongly to the fore as never before.

Luke McBain, Gussie's long lost brother, has just returned to the US from France, after serving many years in the French Foreign Legion. His background is also construction and he has contracted with a former professional baseball player, and friend from his high school days, Cutter Valentine, on land Cutter inherited from a long lost uncle, that Arielle believes may possibly be sacred Native American burial grounds. The day they meet they are literally and figuratively "bowled over" where both have an immediate, sizzling attraction to the other. What they find out about both their attraction and the land is what keeps you turning the pages until you can't wait to get to the end with a few thrilling and unexpected twists and turns that are St. Claire's signature style!

For those of you who are "romantic suspense" St. Claire fans she smoothly reintroduces long-time, beloved bad boy, Gabe Rossi!!! AND goes one step further by including the first chapter of her next SUPER EXCITING SERIES in the Barefoot Theme.... "Barefoot Undercover" which includes the long-awaited story featuring GABRIEL ROSSI due out in the Spring 2015!!!

After seeing her two best friends and business partners find their HEA, Arielle (Ari) Chandler want a little happiness for herself. But Ari doesn't believe in luck, coincidence or chance meeting. She has a big belief in fate, destiny, kismet, that has been ingrained in her since she was young. Her influence also came from her native grandmother. She believes in The One. One person meant for her in every way. When Luke McBain ran into her (literally), Ari's senses exploded and she knew she found him, unbeknownst to Luke. The location of their meeting also raised Ari's intuition that it's sacred Native American ground that should be protected. Luke has other plans for the location as he's been contracted to build a house on it, a job he must complete to get the money to support someone he feels extremely responsible for. As they find valuable items on the area, suspicious things start happening that might prove Ari's intuition right, that there is something there of worth to protect.

This is a really great wrap up of the bride trilogy on Barefoot Bay. I enjoyed the slow development between Luke and Ari's romance. The mystery part of the book was unexpected and welcomed as it kept things interesting. I also found the Native American aspect intriguing as well.

With the end of this trilogy, we are introduced to Barefoot Bay Undercover which will feature one of my most-looked-forward-to characters ever, Gabe Rossi, from the Guardian Angelinos series!! To be honest, when I first heard that Gabe was coming to Barefoot Bay, I felt a little leery, as I see the setting as a contemporary romance rather than romantic suspense that Guardian Angelinos series was written in. However, after reading that sneak peek, I was super excited, and I knew better than to doubt one of my favorite authors! I can't wait to read it and hopefully meet the heroine who will bring Gabe to his knees!!

"Barefoot in Pearls" by Roxanne St. Claire is part of her 'Barefoot Bay Brides' series. This book can be read alone or better yet as part of her series. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and it is a little more than just a romance story. There is mystery, greed, and yes---love too. Roxanne does it again with a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

Arielle Chandler, Ari to her friends, is unique in her own way. She is part Native American and grew up learning some of her culture from her Shamen Grandmother Good Bear. Luke McBain is not only the brother of one of her friends in the Barefoot Brides business, but also contracted to work on a home which has ties to history. He literally runs into Arielle as he is jogging right before the wedding of his sister.

The spark between Arielle and Luke is there from the beginning. So much that Ari tells him the he is 'the one.' Luke has no idea what she is talking about at first but as they get to know each other he figures out that she means he is the one she is supposed to meet and marry. The relationship is fraught with obstacles as you read their story. Mostly from Luke who has demons in his past which has made him celibate the last few years. Then we have Ari who promised her Grandma that she would not just sleep around with just any man and wait for 'the one.' We have two people who are attracted to each other but are bound by their past. Bring in also the fact that the house Luke is working on has many secrets. One of which involves finding a gold bar in among the walls of the house, quite by accident, and people outside who know that the house is hiding a possible gold mine.

Another very romantic story to end the Barefoot Bay Brides trilogy.

When Luke bumps into Arielle, she immediately understand he's the One for her, the only one in the Universe destined to be her mate for life. Luke is less sure about it but what he can't deny is his attraction to Ari. After years of being separated from his family and far from the US, Luke wants to get closer to his sister and, for that, he needs his temporary license as a general contrator to become permanent but everything is threatened when Ari suspects the land where he's going to biuld is a Native burial ground.

Working together to acknowledge what exactly is buried in that land, their lives will get on the way of someone's attempts to get a hidden treasure.

I loved reading Ari and Luke's romantic and sexy story. They fit perfect, the attraction between them is blinding and hot. Part of the story got some elements of a romantic suspense story, a genre which Roxanne St. Claire wrote before and will write again, to my great pleasure, giving a new thrilling aspect that the previous book in the Barefot Bay didn't have.

In the end of the end there's a preview for the next Barefoot Bay book, introducing a new series in the romantic suspense genre, featuring the unforgettable Gabriel "Gabe" Rossi and I'm so excited! :)

I started this book quite warily. As much as Luke was wary regards Ari uncanny sense of perception. But then she grew on to me and I accepted her weird but not totally unrealistic sides and started to understand her way of thinking.
I liked the investigation which had a few not completely unexpected twists. The romance relied for too long on unsaid mystery but was nevertheless rather convincing.
Side note: there were 3 big blunders. First the heroine supposedly close to 30 yo like her friends given her past experience was named Arielle after the Disney movie which was only released in 1989. Secondly the hero assumed name in the French Legion was Ricard. Well that sure is the brand name of a liquorice based alcohol but not really a first name. That would be Richard in France or Ricardo in Spain, but not Ricard. And worst his former beloved was named Cerisse which is close to a very rare French first name, Cerise, but awfully misspelled and with a different and weird pronunciation following this spelling mistake. Not believable for one second.

I liked that Ari was so strong in her beliefs, that right from the start she found her One. It seemed like the whole book she came back to that, it made for interesting reading as Luke was cynical personified. Just learning about the One seemed to freak out Luke, even as he was intrigued by all that Ari told him about Grandma Good Bear. I did think it was funny how Luke always kept getting Grandma's name wrong. You could tell he was starting to believe as the book went on as the names got nicer and nicer.

I was surprised by what was found at the house, never would have guessed that. I was glad that Cutter did the right thing with the land.

Eh? It was good, I liked the change of pace with the mild-thriller aspect, but it was just kind of....eh? The Barefoot Brides trilogy was largely a miss for me. Barefoot in Lace I absolutely adored, but the first and third books just did not wow me. *shrug*

Ari one of her consultants is getting married, and she was the maid of honor. At her favorite place over looking the bay, her thoughts were of wanting to know what it feels like to be complete Her shaman grandmother described it to how she would feel. The quest to figure out if it was a burial ground was now of great importance. There meeting on the hill for he had plans of building a Cutter house. A nice ending, and finding a soul mate as grandmother said.

Not a big fan of this book. It was kind of weird how Luke did not believe in "The One" for most of the book, and suddenly he believes Ari is "The One" for him. Wish there was more interaction between Luke and Ari before they actually got together. The flow was just not there and it is not very believable. Really like the first 2 in the series though.

Barefoot In Lace ramped up my expectations so much that this story was a bit of a let down.

I liked the intrigue but had a hard time feeling the relationship between the MCs. The story seemed to meander from the 25% mark to the 80% mark before it picked up steam again.

I will continue to read as the author can tell a story and usually keeps my interest from start to finish!

Exciting read

You get run down by your friend and business partner's brother and just that touch tells you he is the One that your Native American grandmother told you about. But he has ghosts in his background. You are impeding his job. Lots of twists, turns, danger but also two people finding themselves.
Exciting story. Wonderful read.

A Matter of Cultures

Ari and Luke are both seeking fulfillment in their lives. He has left his life as a Legionnaire to reunite with his family, and she is seeking her own heritage as a descendant of Native Americans. Neither one expected to find their answers on the top of a small hill!

Barefoot Bay 6

Ari is waiting for The One to appear when suddenly, she runs into Luke who carries a lot of baggage around with him. Murder and mystery are the theme of this book in addition to the love story between two who are meant for each other.

Feeling your way

Arie was praying to find her one and was saying a silent prayer to her native american grandmother, when she literally ran into a fine looking man she knew he was the one but later started to question everything cause he didnt believe it.

What do wedding planners, ancient Native American artifacts, sunken Spanish ships have in common? Oh and a dead body. Latest adventure for the Barefoot Bay Brides and handsome builder for a millionaire who wants his new home build overlooking the bay. Trials and tribulations end with HEA.

This was a tad too formulaic for me and I just sort of struggled to get through. Not awful but pretty much the same as the first two with just the names changed
