DC versus Marvel Reading Challenge 2015
This week was a rather slow week with a margin win for Team DC that was mainly caused by Nara defeating Venom.
Lel accomplished the same feat for Team Marvel
Both teams were able to 4 Energy Cells.

We also had our final DC villain of the year revealed. Lex Luthor comes with 3 new challenges to beat in November.
As always, you can find him in the villain post at the beginning of the challenge, in the seperate villains/portal heroes thread or right here, down below.
Lex Luthor
Active from 01/11/2015 - 30/11/2015

1. President Luthor
Read a book with "president" in the title or where someone is the president of a country (it should be an elected leader, not a king or emperor).
2. Lex Corp
Read a book with the word "company" in the title or where the main character owns a business (a tavern is fine, but being the head of a crime family wouldn't count).
3. Battle Suit
Read a book with "battle" or "suit" in the title or where a character wears a powered armor (it needs to be powered, not just a knight in armor).

Okay, there's a time for everything and this week is actually the first week that only one team scored.
Team Marvel was on a high and in addition to Rinn's and Sam's recruitment of Rocket Raccoon Sam also added Thing to her roster, while Brendan defeated Venom.
All 3 Energy Cells of the week also went the Marvel way.

This was a really good book about President Garfield, his assassination, Alexander Bell and his inventions, and how doctors practiced and viewed infection at that time.

This week Team DC struck back and took the win. For them, Christina defeated Venom in the old month, while Roger too the achievement for defeating lex Luthor first in the new month. Roger also added Robin to his roster.
For Team Marvel, Christina recruited Deadpool, while Lel also sent home Lex Luthor with a beating.
Team DC also had the honor of acquiring the only Energy Cell of the week.

This week was relatively slow and Shawnie's defeat of Lex Luthor made the difference in giving Team Marvel a margin victory.
Team Marvel also managed to acquire 3 Energy Cells compared to Team DC's 1 and managed to tie the race for the next portal hero. Bith teams are now at 27/30 cells.

And as we're already in November, of course some of you might have asked yourself, if there's going to be another challenge next year.
The answer to this is: If there's still interest, there will be a challenge.
The challenge would be quite similar to this year. With Marvel's new direction there are some characters like Ms. Marvel or Nova that come into the limelight and that we haven't had in a challenge and some changes like the female Thor that would make up for some interesting new combos of challenges.
For DC there are also a lot of characters that have risen in popularity through tv shows that haven't been part of this year's challenge like Supergirl, Canary or Atom.
So I think there would be enough material to put together another round of DC versus Marvel in 2016.
I would also plan to stick with the villains and portal heroes. The change here would be that I would adjust the goals for each portal, so that next year we might manage to open all 6.
The alternative to that scenario could be a dragons versus jetpacks chalenge, where we recruit famous characters from fantasy and sf.
The issue with that with that though would be that it is pretty hard to have challenges for like Gandalf and obviously not allowing The Lord of the rings to be read for it. But LotR could still be used for another challenge. That would be a logistical nightmare and would make the challenge less transparent and overly complicated.
So, to cut a long post short. If there's interest and you aren't tired of superheroes yet, there'll be a new version of this challenge next year.

Personally I would love another challenge next year. It helps me pick which book to read next, I have no idea how I would choose between them otherwise!

I think I might sit out the next challenge, not that they aren't interesting, but I think I'd like a break of reading things for a challenge and just read for fun. There are a lot of series I started because of the challenge, which is awesome, but I want to finish them off.
I would love another challenge. Superheroes are near and dear to my heart, so another of these would be great, but I'd at least take a look at a different flavor theme.

Thank you so much for running the challenges! I'd love to participate again. I branched out to read a lot I wouldn't have without trying to fit the categories! :-)
All You Need Is Kill/Lex Luthor/Battle Suit/1 of 3 - the soldiers wear 'Jackets' which are powered armour suits
