Not a problem at all, I can pick a new one

Mpauli: I managed to get through just over half of Red Mars before losing the will and giving up. Would that count for the energy cell or shall I just write this one off?

Unfortunately "Half a Book" would only work for Joe Abercrombie's YA series.^^
Here we can only count finished books.

Bahh I've been so bad at this lately! I need to read this month's book (Red Mars) and made sure to bring it to my new flat, but I signed up to my local library and have been completely mood reading from there lately.
Also have a pile of review copies to get to...

The empire strikes back this week. Team Marvel wins by a huge margin and recruitments left and right.
Punisher is recruited by Sam and Sara, while Sara also adds Dr. Strange and Valkyrie to her team. In addition to that Christina recruits Spiderman and Ultron gets beat up by Shawnie and Lel. Can I get an Avengers Assemble?
Team DC focused mainly on lab work this week and acquired 4 Energy Cells in contrast to Team Marvel's 1.

It's thematically fitting. A deputy would work as well. :)

Cool, it's definitely an old west type book.

This week was pretty even as Team Marvel won by 1 point and both teams acquired 2 Energy Cells.
For the winners Soila recruited Deadpool, while Christina defeated Ultron.
For Team DC Roger scored all of their non-energy cell points this week, the majority of those by recruiting Flash and taking the achievement for being the first player to recruit Rick Grimes.

Are we getting a new villain today?

Oh my, good that you mentioned it. I'm starting a new job in September and sign the papers next week, so I'm a bit preoccupied, so that I didn't realize that it is of course time for a new villain.
September's foe will be Green Lantern's nemesis Sinestro. As always, I added him to the front page, the villain/portal hero thread and right here down below. Have fun fighting him! :)
Sinestro
Active from 01/09/2015 - 30/09/2015

1. The Power Ring
Read a book with a ring on the cover or the word "ring(s)" in the title or where a ring is a significant object.
2. Sinestro Corps
Read a book with a predominantly yellow cover or where a military unit makes up the the main pov(s). (If there are multiple povs and one is from the point of someone in a squad, company etc. that's fine)
3. Master of Fear
Read a book with a person showing an expression of fear/horror/panic on the cover or where a being is able to actively induce fear/terror in its enemies. (The being should have this as an ability; characters just being afraid of someone/something wouldn't be enough)

Consider looking for some with necrmancers, I recently read the Brotherhood of the Griffin that had some fear inducement in it, unfortunately it's a five book series and I don't remember if it was in the first few books.
Also Lord of the Rings has ringwraiths, they induce fear and it fits the ring category too...
