I'm going to kick this off early and nominate Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I have heard good things about it.
I want to nominate Greenlanders by Jane Smiley. But it’s very lengthy 703 pages , you decide about its eligibility. Sorry I can’t put links to book and author because on app there is no option for linking.

I read Daisy Jones & The Six and was not a fan. Gave it just two stars, but I know I'm in the minority. Hope you all like it, if it's selected.I nominate City of Girls

That's fine Nidhi, as long as you've clearly written the title and the author I don't need links to the books.

I think that The Call of the Wild would be more appropriate for the Group Classic read as it was first published in 1903 but am willing to go with whatever the majority wants.

If it doesn't win here, it can always be nominated for the classic group read.

This is a "popcorn book". Tasty, fun, not serious... I'm recommending "What Alice Forgot" by Moriarity. I liked it because it was an interesting premise. Young and in love and newly married. That's what she wakes up to after hitting her head in the gym and loses the last ten years of her life. Ten years...a lot happens. I think there might be good discussions about how relationships fade, fall apart, people change, etc. Daisy Jones was one of my fav books last year. I'll second it.

I can't see The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey on your list, so I'll nominate it if that's ok.
A most enjoyable, much-loved Pulitzer Prize nominee.
I’ll second only because read a ton of reviews. Saying the recap doesn’t do it justice. Lots of 4’s and 5’s. And it’s not on any “it list” so I’m liking that as a barometer.

Nominations start today and will close on 9th January.
During this time anybody can nominate and second one book each. You cannot second the book you have nominated. The 6 books with the most second votes at the end of the 7 day nomination period will go into the poll. There are no limits to the number of seconds a book can receive.
The poll will then run until the 16th January and the winner will be announced shortly after. I hope this will leave everybody with enough time to obtain the chosen book.
Please also check that your chosen nomination hasn't been a group read in the past. You can do this by looking at the group bookshelf, contact one of the moderators or post on 'Ask the Moderators' thread
If you have any questions on the nominations process please contact me, use the 'Ask the Moderators' thread or post on here and we will be happy to help
