I was thrilled to see that some people consider Malcolm Gladwell books to be self-help. They are really in a category all of their own. I'm very excited to read Outliers: The Story of Success which many consider his best. Anything he writes is worth reading and I just realized his books would work for a person I admire, too.
I just read (and enjoyed) There Is No Good Card for This: What To Say and Do When Life Is Scary, Awful, and Unfair to People You Love
for this category. It's a 'how to' guide to being there for people during difficult times book.
