The Chicken Sisters by KJ Dell'Antonia such a cute read so far!!! only a few pages in but I am hooked already❤️
Currently reading the Sunday lunch club, it’s ok so far. I wouldn’t say it’s amazing but it’s not totally rubbish either. Let’s see how the rest of the book goes.
I just enjoyed Aussie author B Michael Radburn's second Taylor Bridges mystery, The Falls. Creepy murders in the Victorian bush.

The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot is a brand new favourite! It's hard to believe this is Marianne Cronin's first novel. Wonderful characters and story.

The Princes of Ireland.
Why We Swim by Bonnie Tsui - part survey of our motivations and part memoir, and in all, a paean to swimmingMy review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/3867288430
The End of Gender: Debunking the Myths about Sex and Identity in Our Society by Debra SohThis is about current history - gender politics that have been heavily impacted by earlier feminist stances. I read this as a follow-up because two previous science books held opposing positions on whether human brains display differences based upon sex.

Hide Away by Jason Pinter launches a new thriller series with an atypical protagonist - a single mother turned vigilante. My review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/3875231670

I'm currently reading At Swim, Two Boys its quite a difficult writing style but worth it for the characters and setting.
Here is my 2 star review of The Name of the Rose
by Umberto Eco: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished a history book: Valcour: The 1776 Campaign That Saved the Cause of Liberty
by Jack Kelly. My 3.5 star review rounded to 3 stars: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Spy Who Came In from the Cold by John le Carré. His third novel reaped him international acclaim. Published in 1963, just 2 years after the Berlin Wall was erected, this book was electric! My review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/3877958239

A good read! Bitter Wash Road is the first of a series about a rural Aussie copshop run by a 'disgraced' ex-detective. (Moral: never ever rat on crooked cops.) Add me to the list of Garry Disher's fans!

I finished a romantic suspense novel: Blood Ties
by Sharon Sala.My 3.5 star review rounded down to 3 stars: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Looking Glass War #4. In the Introduction, John le Carré explained his motivation for writing this installment the way that he had, which was helpful. For those who didn't benefit from that, The Looking Glass War would be really confusing. How could such an incompetent sister service such as the Department still exist to flail about like it did here? Surely all of the British agencies were as adept as their Circus? My review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/3883777931
Aussie author Susan Johnson has just released From Where I Fell. Two women from opposite sides of the world reveal more about themselves than they intended in their accidental email 'penpalship'. I loved the slightly naughty feeling of spying on them.

The Rebecca Notebook and Other Memories by Daphne du Maurier.I was curious about both du Maurier's creative process and underlying thoughts while writing Rebecca as well as the author herself.

Unusually for me, a non-fiction. I enjoyed it.
The Art of the English Murder: From Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes to Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcockhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
since one of my book clubs April read is "The Giver of Stars" by Jojo Moyes, and I've heard she was sued for basically copying "The Book Women of Troublesome Creek" by Kim Michelle Richardson, I am reading the Book Woman of Troublesome Creek this month before I read The Giver of Stars :)
I'll be curious to see what you thin of those, Melissa. I own The Book Women of Troublesome Creek, but won't have time to read it this month. I'm getting The Giver of Stars from the library for our group read next month.
The Story of More: How We Got to Climate Change and Where to Go from Here by Hope Jahren. This is an excellent primer about climate change - science-based and yet very accessible. My review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/3888495136
Some people make arrangements for their own, inevitable Exit from life, but things don't go to plan in this mystery by Belinda Bauer. I loved its warmth and humour.

I really enjoyed Max Porter's unique young character, Lanny, in this unusual, fascinating mix of contemporary family story and ancient spirits. So good! (Made the Booker longlist)

Finished Crimson Phoenix by John Gilstrap I won. For me, it had too much violence but it does have some good reviews. All books are not for all people.
I am reading a rather short bookLes Misérables. LOL just kidding this book is amazing but way to long. I have stopped in the middle to reread an old favoriteMaisie Dobbs I thought Maisie has more mystery. I love it but really want mystery
