Angus (angusmiranda) | 4337 comments Hello, I’m Angus and I’m your moderator for January 2020. We’ll be discussing A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. Our F2F will be on January 18, 2PM, at a resto/cafe in Podium. More details will be announced soon.

-If you need an electronic copy of the book, PM me your email address.
-In line with our “Best of the 2010s” theme, please fill out this form. The form will ask you to enter 10 to 15 of your fave books published from 2010 to 2019. Kindly verify the original publication year of the books that you will be entering.

Thanks and happy reading!

Abdul (juramentado) | 68 comments Hello! Since February is Black History Month somewhere, I chose the category South African Non-fiction. We'll be reading Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah.

My understanding is that listening to the audiobook is more enjoyable than reading the book. The author himself narrates, and the pronunciation and accents add to the experience. If you can get your hands on the audiobook, that would be optimal.

F2F will be held on February 22 in the afternoon at a place that is still to be determined.

Enkosi!

Abdul (juramentado) | 68 comments Good evening, TFG!

F2F98 is on Feb. 22, Saturday, 2pm, at Sunnies Cafe, Second floor, Bridgeway, SM Megamall. Whether or not you finished Born a Crime, please attend!

(Sunnies is strict and has given a waiting time of up to 2:30pm.)

Aaron Vincent (aaronvincent) | 2053 comments Hello, TFG! I am Aaron and I am your moderator for the F2F discussion for March. Because we are celebrating the International Women's Day on the 8th of March, our discussion will be on 2018 Booker Prize-winning novel, Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo.

Message me for the digital copy of the book. I can also provide a link for the audiobook if anyone's interested in that.

F2F discussion details to be posted soon.

Thanks! Happy reading!

message 6: by Veronica (new)

Veronica | 734 comments Hi everyone. I’m your moderator for April. With your indulgence, I’ve selected another non-fiction book whose genre can be summed up as classics / literary analysis / memoir / travelogue (ha!). It was last year when I read An Odyssey: A Father, a Son, and an Epic and found it unique, fascinating and moving. I’m hoping you will enjoy it, too.

As always, you can send me an email if you want a digital copy. Don’t worry if you’ve never read Homer’s Odyssey. Summaries found online will suffice. Who knows? You may want to pick up Homer’s epic poem thereafter.

Happy reading!

Grace (misadventurous) | 1 comments Hello! Here since... 2011? 2013? Not sure anymore it’s been so long but, probably like everybody else I’m back because - Covid 19.

Life has been busy so I’ve been transformed from reading everything I can get my hands on to being really selective and now a fan of sci-fi short stories in recent years. Short, and with immediate gratification. :)

Hi there again!

Monique (attymonique) | 2130 comments Hi Grace! Well now’s a good time as any to catch up on reading, right? Welcome back! Let us know what you’re reading! :)

Meliza (mecawish) | 720 comments Hi! I’m Meliza and I’ll be the moderator for this month of June.

This month, I chose Fredrik Backman’s A Man Called Ove. Backman is Swedish, by the way. It’s tagged as Humor by Goodreads but I'm not really sure if it should be. It's sort of a drama/comedy novel but I haven't finished reading it yet.

I hope you can join us in our discussion, which is probably going to be online, on June 27 (tentative date). You can send me a message if you want a digital copy. That's all. Enjoy reading!
