Welcome!!! Oooh, I loved that book hard!!!

Lisa Speidel | 27 comments LOL!! Apparently I *REALLY* like the single parent trope- of the ones already decided on their pick for this month, I've already read 7 of them!! And I've read quite a few in the "I can't decide between these books" choices too!! 🤣😂🤣

I'm reading this one too. Let me know when y'all are starting it. I will jump in then! I have always enjoyed her books.

Okay, this is how pathetic I am.....I JUST CHECKED AND I ALREADY READ ELEANOR & GREY BACK IN APRIL.....UGH!! How bad is that??

So, now I'm going back to my original choice..... Until It Fades by K.A. Tucker

Sorry Grey and thanks for all your work on these challenges!!

*snort giggle* I may or may not have done this once or twice myself. Hakuna Matata...I'll fix the list! I am debating Eleanor & Grey...or Written With Regret by Aly Martinez...

I have started E & G but will probably try to get to Written With Regret soon too

Sarah (storpey) | 35 comments I finished Nikki Ash's Through His Eyes (3.5 stars). I'll probably read another single parent one before the month is up but not sure which one yet. I have several vying for my attention. Life is hard.

message 68: by Nicole (last edited Feb 02, 2020 12:41AM) (new)

Nicole (nikkitikkitavi) | 63 comments My January pick is Room for You by Beth Ehmann

Room for You (Cranberry Inn, #1) by Beth Ehemann

I loved this romance. It was close to my heart because it was about a Mom of twins and a hockey player. It was fun, but also hit on some of the real issues that single parents deal with. I gave it 4 stars.

message 69: by Jen (last edited Jan 04, 2020 02:49PM) (new)

Jen | 162 comments Finished Eleanor & Grey and I give it 3.5 stars. I really wanted to give it 4 stars because I enjoyed it but it just felt a little off and lacking a little more depth that I thought it could have...or something. I really like B. Cherry so of course will read more from her. (I did give it 4 stars on GR because I usually round up :) )

I finished E&G too. I wound up giving it a 4... because I loved part 1. I thought it was destined for my 5 star shelf actually. Then d/t some f*ckery I would have only given part 2 3 stars... So I split the difference and gave it a 4.🤷

I had the same issues with E&G that you and Jen mentioned. The story had such great potential but then certain things happened that I couldn't move past. (view spoiler)

message 73: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Speidel | 27 comments Finished Clean Lines.. I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐. I love Freya Barker's writing & the h/H relationships & how it seems like ACTUAL real people, no alphaholes & while being protective the H allows the h to be her own self & do things for herself. The conversations & storyline always seemed natural & never forced, a nice helping of suspense & action thrown in. Minor typos I can overlook. I'll be reading more of the single parent trope this month since I tend to gravitate towards it & I love this author so I'll read more from her as well. 😊

message 74: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Wow, you guys are all finishing so fast! I just started mine: Until It Fades by K.A. Tucker

Loving the writing style so far!

message 75: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Based on your remarks on E&G, I'm thinking that's why I don't remember reading it and never rated/reviewed it!

Exactly! Both of those things bugged me and might have made me do a little eye roll. Plus it seemed a bit forced at points too. I LOVE her and wanted to love it too so I was a little bummed.

message 82: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Guys, I'm super bummed because I am not loving Hook Shot Hook Shot (Hoops #3) by Kennedy Ryan ...it feels so looooooong. I've been reading forever and I just passed the halfway mark. I do however LOVE the cover!! Seriously...look at that mans perfect face. *dreamy sigh* I'm not giving up so fingers crossed this gets better.

Leslie, have you read the other two in the series before that one? I've only read the first one and I did really like it but her books are very long.

Leslie | 2430 comments Michele, I read Block Shot Block Shot (Hoops #2) by Kennedy Ryan and enjoyed it. I did not read first book because it sounded too emotional. However, I remember EVERYONE raving about Grip series and I could not get into that one at all.

you must read Grip! so so so good ;)

Leslie, sorry you're not felling it with Kennedy Ryan...I loved both these series :)

I think I'm going to start my pick The Guy on the Left (The Underdogs, #2) by Kate Stewart after I finish Release by Aly Martinez

Leslie, I get super bored too when a story just doesn't grab me (even when they are sometimes) which leads to me to squirrel off to other books. LOL I have liked Kennedy Ryan but can't remember the last book I read of hers. I will probably avoid this one though.

message 93: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments I finished my read...Everything I Never Wanted. 4 1/2 stars from me. I listened to the audio and it was well done. Tucker was pretty perfect as book boyfriends go - - except for one part of the book when he became a raving a**hole! But then he gets his crap together ...so I forgave him. :-)

I really enjoyed that book when I read it over the summer. And yeah, that part was annoying.

it sounds really good! and bonus, it's on KU :) but its a duet :-/

message 97: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments Judy, you don’t have to read both. The books are connected but about two different couples.

message 98: by diann bryan (new)

diann bryan | 179 comments Finished my single parent book! 4 stars

Leslie, it has a uniqueness to it that I liked. The story has a tragic history but none of it happens during the book - it is all backstory. I think you might like it...plus the audio is on hoopla!!
