What Are You Reading?

A wonderful story of a duke's daughter who runs away from home after he father demands she marries an awful Duke, thinking he is a pillar of the community and wealthy. But she knows better. Oliver is also the son of a duke who more or less ran away from his father years ago. He now tends a lighthouse and is trying to run off wreckers. He also is a wonderful writer. The two come together at the lighthouse after the house keeping finds the young woman almost starved and dirty. This is a predictable story, but it so fun to read. Clean romance, with suspense and mystery. I would definitely recommend this book.

A wonderful story right out of the tales of Camelot and the tale of King Arthur and Guinevere. They seem to be all related. After Cleo's father's death, she is determined to find out the real cause. No one would ever imagine him killing himself. With the help of one of Henry's dearest friends, Arthur MacDonald, the Earl of Irondale. they begin to unravel clues and cryptic messages Cleo's father left behind. But the killer is still out there and none of them are safe. This is such a wonderful, imaginative, clean romance with mystery and suspense. I felt it started to drag on a bit at the end, but the ending was a real surprise. I would certainly recommend it to everyone. 4 stars

Third book and final in the series. This book focuses on the character Lulu. Her father was a Senator who's aspirations was to become President. He was a colorful man and used many people to get where he was. Yet Lulu loved him and forgave him from his previous transgressions. When her father died expectantly, she moved to Chandler Hill to be with a sister she hadn't known she had until recently. Cami has taken her under her wings and the two are as close as they had been sisters forever. Miguel Lopez, Rafe Lopez's nephew is now helping run on the three wineries. He adores Lulu, but she knows all the woman love Miguel. She knows there is no way she could be involved with a man she doesn't know if she could trust. Until! A one night stand leaves her pregnant. Lives are turned upside down from that point on. I really enjoyed this book. I really liked reading about Lulu's mother and her fight with depression. I also deal with it and found the transformation from being a person who could hardly get out of bed to this vibrant, fun loving woman was a bit too unrealistic for me. I also found the dialogue to sappy and too repetitious. That is why I didn't give it a full star rating. The ending made me cry! 4 stars

Ramsey and Orella meet in Scotland when her family is invited to Brahanne clans home for a party. The Laird and her father do business together. The party happens to be the announcement of Ramseys betrothal to a woman from a nearby clan. He has already rejected her once, but his brother, the Laird of Brahanne is insistent. Orella is excited to just be going to Scotland. When Ramsey and Orella meet, it is electric and love at first site. But their feelings are forbidden. This book is full of hot romance, poison, murder, intrigue and mystery. I was caught off guard as the book proceeded and the "who dun it." at the end. A very exciting book. I gave it 4 stars because there were many typing and grammar mistakes. If you enjoy hot, steamy, exciting Highlander romance/mysteries? This is a book you will really enjoy. 4 stars

Caroline is the only child of the Earl of Goldman and has fallen in love with the Earl's top footman William. After her father found out about the two of then and forbid them to see each other again and fired William, they decided to elope. Unfortunately, Earl Canton, the one who was to marry Caroline found them, and threatened them both and paid off William to have a better life for him and his ailing father. Caroline was heartbroken that William would leave her this way. But William has a great plan, no only to have Caroline as his own, but to expose Canton for what he really is. But will William be quick enough before Caroline has to marry the evil Earl. This book was so fun to read. So many twists and turns in the story. The characters are so strong and well defined. The sexy romance between Caroline and William. The evil of the Earl Canton. What an intriguing book. I would certainly recommend it. There were some typo's but nothing that would take away from the story. 5 stars

I'm going to start
tonight. This is one of my favorites of NR's and I am finding lately that I need to read stuff I know I am certain to enjoy.

Erin is the one who came up with the Billionaire Bride Pact when her and her friends were young and at camp. Erin is a woman with many unrealistic goals, one being of which, is a famous Broadway star. She doesn't seem to see what reality is in front of her face. Matt is a struggling, passionate and talented glass blower trying to keep his father's legacy going. He has loved Erin for a long time and knows she just want's to stay only as friends. I found him charming, warm, caring and a guy every woman would want in her life. But he is always there for her through all her struggles, giving her a shoulder to cry on and a laugh. He just can't let go of her knowing she will never feel the same for her. After Erin meets the famous Bennan and starts dating him, she "finally" realizes that the only for her is Matt. The story wasn't bad, but I just couldn't get to like the spoiled brat Erin. Don't like how she uses people. It was okay. I do want to read the next one to see if its different. 3 stars

Last night I read

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The story of Caitlyn Sullivan, a privileged young girl who was kidnapped and held for ransom at a very young age. Her family is the famous, rich Sullivan's from the screen and stage. This book goes through Caitlyn's life beginning with the kidnapping through today. Her struggles dealing with the distrust of others, strange and frightening phone calls, a mother who is pretty much deranged, a man who has loved her from the first day he discovered her in his kitchen as a frightened child. Caitlyn attempts to find what she really wants from life and if the stage and screen are really for her. She travels from the Sullivan home in Big Sur, to LA, Ireland and New York. Although she meets many people, makes good friends and finds men to love, her roots always call her back to Big Sur to her family. Nora Roberts never writes anything but magnificent, and doesn't falter here. It is the story of family, money can't buy peace and happiness sometimes, mystery, romance and suspense. All the character were very well defined, strong and believable I guess. (I don't know people of this wealth and position). The only con I have regarding the book is the ending. I feel like it all came together too quickly and unsettled. A second in a series would have been better or longer ending. Another fantastic book by Nora Roberts. Would love to read someday what happens to Caitlyn in years to come.

Clementine Rogers decides to go out west after her parents die. She finds her aunt Roberta in Montana,on her ranch and lives with her and helps her out now that her uncle is deceased. The same day she arrives, a handsome young rancher introduced to the ranch by Roberta's foreman Hank. Both Clementine have hearts that have been broken in one way or another and need time to heal. It seem the ranch under the love of Hank and Roberta seem to be the answer. But there are other obstacles in the midst. This is an inspirational romance. It was an interesting story line but I felt it got rather "sappy" in description and dialogue at times. I don't think people would actually talk like that. So that being said, I found it unbelievable. I did enjoy how the author portrayed the times and the life on a ranch with her words. A good recommendation to read. 4 stars

Just stared "The Harbor's Deadly Secrets" by Cynthia Raye on Kindle. ARC
I did not like this mystery at all. The characters were so strange/unusual, that they didn't even seem real. The main character seemed OK in the beginning however, she kept poking her nose into the murder when really she didn't belong interfering. She seemed to have a problems with men and their feeling about females doing important work, i.e. police solving a murder. I never really understood her age and the ages of the other characters. The other characters involved in the murder, were also different. I could not relate to them. I needed a dictionary to read some of it with all the big words, Wasn't impressed. I would give it a 2 star rating.

There has been a hateful feud going on between the Lockwood's and the Farraday's for years. Lady Gwendoline Lockwood and Lord Caspain Farrady enjoy tormenting each other until things get out of hand at the first ball of the season. Lady Gwendoline finds love letters from her uncle disclosing part of the real truth between him and the Lord's aunt. Of which started the feud years ago. Could this all be a lie and how this hatred between the family's could have been avoided? Once enemies, now Lady Gwendoline and Lord Caspian have come to an agreement to try and unlock the real truth before going to their families. Not only do they find interest in each other, but find out just how dangerous this truth can be. I really enjoyed this book. It has everything in a wonderful historical, romance, mystery. I thought I had the "who dunnit" figured out, but was so pleasantly surprised at the ending. Great, strong characters, and ingenious plot and of course romance. I would definitely recommend this book.
I was given a free copy and this is my honest review.

Solomon Miller is mega rich and his father designated him over his brothers to run the family business when he no longer is able to. His father only cares about the family name and making more money. Solomon has a "run" in with a homeless woman after he finds her defacing the megachurch his family just rebuilt after a tornado. Frenchie has no trust in the well to do people and doesn't believe a word they say when they talk about helping the less fortunate. Solomon and Frenchie are people from two different worlds. But getting to know each other, they learn and respect each other. Many twists and turns in this story but also an education on how we perceive the rich and the homeless. A very heartfelt story. I really liked seeing a different plot from some of the other books I read. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because it didn't go into Frenchie more. Her past and how she became homeless. Very confusing. I also didn't like being left hanging at the end. It just wasn't finished well. But all in all, a very wonderful book. I would certainly recommend it.
