I'm really loving Garry Disher's Paul Hirschhausen series and, with his laconic Aussie drawl, Steve Shanahan is an inspired choice to read the audio version of #2, Peace. His narration is absolutely perfect and a huge improvement on the Brit who did #1, so I do hope he's doing #3, Consolation, out in November.

While it's not a quick read, Utopia Avenue is another excellent dose of David Mitchell magic. There are major spoilers for The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet, as well as references to other David Mitchell works, and some (probably annoying) ear worms.... I loved it!
