PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments John Updike won Pulitzer prizes for books three and four of his Rabbit, Run series. I've just read the first, and he certainly does know how to write.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I do so enjoy Louise Penny's Canadian Inspector (now Commander) Armand Gamache series, so I was delighted to visit Three Pines again in A Great Reckoning.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments My third audiobook from NetGalley is very enjoyable. Ignore any plot holes in The Switch by British author, Beth O'Leary and just revel in Alison Steadman's brilliant portrayal of 79yo Eileen Cotton.

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 2304 comments On a Barbarous Coast by Craig Cormick was utterly disappointing. I had to skim my way through the last 2/3 to make it through.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Fans of Joanna Nell's books are in for another treat with her third novel, The Great Escape from Woodlands Nursing Home: marvellous characters and, once again, great insight into our elderly population. Funny and poignant, this is a truly heart-warming read.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Having read the print version of Joanna Nell's second novel, The Last Voyage of Mrs Henry Parker last year, I knew what was coming, but Mrs Henry Parker's interactions with those she encounters on board ship, as so wonderfully read by Julie Nihill, still had me laughing and sometimes, weeping. Joanna Nell really knows her oldies.
5★s of course!!

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 2304 comments So my sister Kelly Ann Charleson wrote a bunch of kids books and me being the great sister I am only just got around to reading them. XD I think it means something though that I took the trouble to add them all to GR!
