PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments This is a sweet new children's picture book by Japanese author/illustrator Akiko Miyakoshi with a message that's relevant to our times in lockdown: I Dream of a Journey.

Phosphorescence: On Awe, Wonder and Things That Sustain You When the World Goes Dark just happened to be launched during a pandemic, right when we need it!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Wow, hard to believe that The Dictionary of Lost Words by (now) Aussie author Pip Williams is a debut novel. There is so much to love about it that I found it hard to stop quoting (hence the long review). Laugh, cry and, incidentally, learn a lot about words. A brilliant read that is my favourite so far this year. Love this cover!

Yes, I'm glad to have a picture of the pigeonholes with the slips of paper in them. Not how I imagined, but good to see the real thing.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments While One Last Child by Aussie author Anni Taylor is definitely a page-turner, I didn’t warm to the characters enough to be interested in the sequel and I wasn’t convinced by the motive, plus there were a few plot holes, so despite quite a few high ratings, I can only manage 3.5★s

Great Pic Marianne. It looks like something out of a children's story book! He had such a great wizardly beard.
