I just picked up What Lies Between Us. It was the Audible daily deal and a few of my friends really enjoyed it. It sounds pretty creepy to me.

Last week I downloaded an app to sell clothing (I've got such an urge to clean out the stuff I haven't worn for years!) and today I found out you can also sell and buy books in it. I bought Kruistocht in spijkerbroek which is a book from my childhood and that I've been wanting to reread for €2. And I bought The Complete Persepolis which I had my eyes on ever since we did the graphic novel challenge. I wanted a paper version but it's quite expensive new. I got it for €4.50 now. Both books are advertised as good as new, and there's €2-3 shipping for each, but still pretty good deals. I'm happy!
I have had to buy more books this year because the library was shut and even though it is open now can only reserve books and they take forever to get to the library.I have tried to buy used and have just bought The First Conspiracy: The Secret Plot to Kill George Washington just £2 for an immaculate hardback copy
I "purchased" via kindle unlimited The Perfect Child and when I was in Tescos yesterday I bought The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper and The Other People.
I had to take my library books back and decided not to borrow anymore due to the impending restrictions so, like you Marie, I will be buying books.

I saw The Body Counter in the Kindle Daily Deals for $1.99 so I nabbed it. I really enjoyed the first book so am happy I can continue the series cheaply.
I just picked up Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic. It was free on Kindle and has a great cupcake (and a cherry) on the cover. I'm sure that will fit a challenge at some point.
I bought Shadow and Bone. I have another book by Leigh Bardugo on my wishlist and always assumed he's male, but actually she's not. I think it was just the name combined with the book cover of the other book that led me to assume this.
Audible has offered a $5.00 coupon for pre-purchase of an upcoming book. I intend to read The Searcher for the trivia challenge, and so I pre-purchased it. The audiobook will be released on Oct 6th.
I just saw that too, Janice. I'll take a look at any preorders I have in my wishlist or soon to be published reads on my TBR and pick one out soon.
I bought Tate: Sketch Club Urban Drawing as I needed to make up the order to get free delivery. Love it when that happens.
I just picked up a few more: Brave Girl, Quiet Girl
Lost Hills
Troubled Blood
She Has a Broken Thing Where Her Heart Should Be
The True Story of Hansel and Gretel
I went shopping at Audible this morning. From the 2-1 credit sale, I got:
A Perilous Undertaking
The Rage of Dragons
For my Sep credits:
Ink & Sigil
Troubled Blood
I pre-ordered two Nook ebooks from Barnes & Noble.Death and the Maiden - the final book in the series by Ariana Franklin from the Mistress of the Art of Death to be released in October and The Constant Rabbit, Jasper Fforde's new book, to be released at the end of the month.

I'm looking forward to closure on the Mistress of the Art of Death series. It was a long time coming!
Yes, maybe we can do a buddy read when it comes out. Jannene, Dom, Dawn and I all read the series books this year. We all declared the series killed. There may be others that might be interested too.

I'll be interested to here whatyou think of The Night Tiger Peggy, I can't make up my mind about that one :-/
I got my daily deal email and I always stick to buying only books I have on my wishlist, but today I made an exception because the title and cover seemed interesting, and the blurb wasn't too bad either:All the Stars and Teeth
Margo wrote: "I'll be interested to here whatyou think of The Night Tiger Peggy, I can't make up my mind about that one :-/"It will probably be years (or at least months) before I get to it, but I'll let you know ;-)
I just bought thThe Night Manager. I seem to begetting lucky with books I nominate being picked in y good reads groups.
I bought an ebook deal, Holding Up the Universe. Perfect timing, as I only need to complete 4 more tasks. For card 30 I wasn't too happy with the books I gophered so far, but this one fits one of the tasks :)
Audible is having a deal where if you spend a certain number of credits they send you a coupon, so I picked up 4 books. I haven't been using my credits lately because every time I do the book I chose either becomes the daily deal or my library orders it. So far, my library doesn't have any of these. Reliquary
Playing Nice
The Nothing Man
Dear Emmie Blue
I'm thinking about adding Black Heart and One True Loves to get the maximum coupon amount. I have the third book in the Dan Riley series, so it makes sense to buy the first. I've enjoyed the other books I've read by Taylor Jenkins Reid, but I'm not 100% onboard with the subject matter in One True Loves. I'm not a fan of love triangles, so it could be good or it could go wrong really quickly. Hmmm...
I used 2 credits in the sale and got:Anxious People
City of Dragons
When I was online with chat yesterday, I asked if pre-orders were included in the sale. She said no. But when you go to the sale page, they have a section suggesting pre-orders. I think I will ask another customer sales person.
ETA - I can't get the chat window to load. Sheesh! It just sits there greyed out.
Addicted! So I went back and added two more to bring my coupon total to $10.00.Blood of Dragons
A Single Swallow
I was wondering about pre-orders too. I didn't choose any because I wasn't sure. Maybe try sending an email? Or is that greyed out too?
I tried the chat on my phone and there was a note saying they were overwhelmed with chat requests and to try email. I wanted to pre-order Plain Bad Heroines but then noticed that Xe Sands is the narrator so I opted for A Single Swallow which was released on Oct 1st.I find Xe Sands to be much like Scott Brick. While there were books they narrated that I really enjoyed, I think with their types of voices, familiarity breeds contempt. I can't force myself to listen to books they narrate now.
I am the opposite. I look for Scott Brick. I think I have a voice chrush.Janice wrote: "I tried the chat on my phone and there was a note saying they were overwhelmed with chat requests and to try email. I wanted to pre-order Plain Bad Heroines but then noticed that Xe..."

Sheesh! I was so busy looking at the books you bought that I missed it was your birthday. Happy Birthday, Margo! I hope it was a good one. :)

I can understand that and it is an unfortunate and unacceptable reality. I felt that the book called them out for it though. (view spoiler)[ You aligned yourself with the victim, not the athlete that assaulted her. I had a difficult time with the gang mentality in the story, but that is realistic too, as is the fact that sexual assault victims are often blamed and ostracized and sometimes politics or wealth play a role. (hide spoiler)] I thought this book took on a lot and did a good job of it.
