Congrats on finishing the book! That is indeed the right place to share your review!

Thanks, Ilona.

Kind regards,

Mary (closer13) | 1 comments The rule changed to break a tie for the Group Read for May Challenge with the word "Lily." Instead of "In the event of a tie, we'll take the books with the highest average Goodreads rating," a revote was implemented for the 2 books. Is it a common practice to change the rule? Just curious. Thank you.

Hi Jordan, that rule applies to picking the 10 books that will be in the poll, if more than 10 are nominated and seconded.
I don't believe we have a rule on how to handle a tie within the actual poll. Historically, we do either leave the poll open or create a new one for the tiebreaker.

Beth | 1553 comments Hi there! For the 30K Party Bonus Challenge there is a prompt to read a book related to any yearly, quarterly, or monthly theme. Is there anywhere those themes are listed for easy access? Thanks!

Beth, the themes may be listed elsewhere, but for sure they're shown in the first post of the Member Challenge Ideas thread. 😊

I will add that link to the prompt in question just in case anyone else needs it. Thanks for asking!

Alina | 257 comments Hi there! I just saw that The Fellowship of the Ring is going to be our group read in july and I am really excited for that. I´ve been wanting to read the series for a long time!
My question is, are we reading the other two books in the upcoming months as well or would I have to suggest those for the buddy reads?

Great question, Alina! One of our Group Read rules states:
Please do not nominate books that are part of a series, unless it is the first book.

Therefore, books two and three are not eligible for a Group Read nomination. They are, however, perfect for a Buddy Reads suggestion, where August and September suggestions are currently being accepted. I hope you'll enjoy this wonderful trilogy!

Thanks so much for your quick reply! I´m off to suggest the books!

Thanks!

Janine | 1545 comments Hi lovely mods! I'm just wondering if there will be a Goodreads Choice bonus challenge this year? I know it's only just opened, so don't mean to put pressure on, I'm just so keen. I already came up with my list yesterday of ones I owned and put a bunch more on hold at the library, so I thought I'd check to see if there was something in the works :) If not, I'll create my own mini challenge for myself in my corner. Thanks!

Hi, Janine! Great question! We are not planning to host Rock the Vote this year.

When the duration of the contest decreased to three weeks with the elimination of write-ins and a third round, member participation dropped off considerably. We stopped hosting it last year, or maybe the year before. If there's enough interest, we could consider bringing it back.

I'm so glad you have a backup plan to create your own mini-challenge in your corner. Hope you find some winners!

Janine | 1545 comments Thanks for the quick response TerryJane, shame about the lack of participation but that totally makes sense. Thanks for letting me know!

If there's a book you want company reading, I would happily do a buddy read. Send me a list of your picks and we can compare notes.

squeakers | 70 comments So for the secret Santa, I'm just wondering if my living address will have to be provided, or if I will have to go to the nearest post office? because I can only do it physically, so. I do plan on sending a gift of course.

message 320: by Carri Carey, TBR Twins (new)

Carri Carey | 1014 comments Hi squeakers, you can provide whatever address you receive mail at. It does not have to be your home address if you have a post office box or other address where you receive mail. Thanks for asking!
