Deborah, the rule means "an IL designation of MG (in the US) or MY (in the UK)...".
I had the same confusion the first time I had to look up a Children's book.

Okay, I read the "AND AR Pts of 7.0 (or higher)" as still being part of the UK AR.

Glad I'm not alone:) May I put in a request to separate out the UK requirements and the US requirements into separate lines, and not have them mixed together?

Actually this season the one time exception to the rule was removed, so since it's BL: 5.8, but only AR: 6 (not 7) I believe it's not eligible to be used at all for SRC purposes. Just to save you time/effort of coding/typing up a new post.
The requirements for UK and US are the same. The differentiation comes in with terminology. AR UK calls the mid-level of childrens' books MY (middle years), and AR US calls them MG (middle grades).

Sorry I am so late in responding- Zombies and Calculus does come in hard cover- it was listed in new releases under humor when I put it on my reading list at the beginning of the challenge. I do not see it there now. ISBN: 9780691161907 (hardback); 0691161909 (hardback). Other Title: Zombies and calculus .Related Subjects: Zombies -- Fiction | Calculus -- Fiction | Mathematics -- Fiction | Humorous stories. No worries though, I am not trying to win the challenge- just create and follow a personal reading list.

The task also states ,"It can also be any undisclosed date as long as it does not match settings that are current to our time."
Would you accept this book for this task since the book and author have both not stated a time for this book? And the setting is un future London where they take teenagers and put them in underground prison to do genetic experiments on them.
