Lu | 601 comments The Librarian Manual says that the Sir shouldn't be included, does this count even when the author published books under that name (like Arthur Conan Doyle). I got confused since we should use the name the author used but that would mean using the 'Sir'. Should I merge the profiles? Which one should stay?

This author is a pseudonym

But in this case "Sir" is not a real title but part of the pen name. Which profile should be kept?

lethe | 16359 comments I'd say if it is part of the pen name it should be kept. Just like f.e. Dr. Seuss.

Lu | 601 comments I'd say the same as lethe.

Moloch | 3975 comments Ok, if it is agreed I can merge the 2 profiles into the name "Sir Steve Stevenson".

You should probably do so, and even if it needs to be changed, it's easier to do so with all of the titles in one place.

Moloch | 3975 comments I'm unable to tell for sure if other books by this author https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... are from the same person, but I don't think so

That doesn't look like the writing of the same person.
