I really enjoyed that one! Hope you do too, Christopher.
Dawn wrote: "Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff; half way through, literary, fascinating, funny, sad, poignant (and starting to get a little bit creepy) but feels so true and real in these times and relevant in our..."I want to read this before the show comes out!
I'm still reading the Mick Garris and I hope to finish it today. Then I'll be starting a new collection of stories by John Hornor Jacobs called Murder Ballads. It's not listed here yet.
David wrote: "Just starting Those Across the River
by Christopher Buehlman"I just read that one a couple months back. Thought it was pretty good too! Hope you enjoy it. :)
I'm listening to Mr Mercedes and enjoying it more than the first time. I'm already half way through. I also started
Currently I'm reading Skitter by Ezekiel Boone, after reading The Hatching; and will follow this with the finale, Zero Day. So getting a nice killer spider fix in. I have really enjoyed these books so far, really fast paced and captivating. Not overly scary, more action packed but im not overly scared of spiders so that might be against me here.

I really enjoyed that series too. Definitely have some nightmare inducing scenes.

"The Great God Pan" by Arthur Machen.Short book - a novella really. I'm halfway through.
Pretty creepy and disturbing so far.
I usually read three or four books at a time, unless something really grips me. Currently I'm reading.Wind Through the Fence: And Other Stories - Jonathan Maberry
Where The Sun Goes to Die - James A. Moore
From the Dust Returned - Ray Bradbury
these are all short story compilations, and I'm reading the fantasy novel.
The Dragon's Path - Daniel Abrahams
WendyB wrote: "Starting Lovecraft Country in anticipation of the series starting in Aug."I doubt I'll be able to get to that before Aug. I wonder if watching the show will be enough?

An old favorite of mine.
When I have time I'm reading Perchance to Dream, a story collection by Charles Beaumont. He was one of the scriptwriters for the original Twilight Zone and a fine fantasy/horror writer in the magazines of the time.
Just started The Boatman's Daughter also slowly going through The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All
Just began reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life. Seems somehow appropriate at this time...
Diane Setterfield’s Once Upon a River. I really liked her novels The Thirteenth Tale and Bellman & Black, so I have high hopes for this.
I'm reading
Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore and listening to
American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
Starting at least two things today haha, one is a new short from Kealan Patrick Burke, The House on Abigail Lane
and the other is one of the Group Reads: Guest Author Invite > July 2020 Group Read with Guest Author, Todd Keisling
Devil's Creek
by Todd Keisling
Might squeeze in a Pendergast as well, I'm up to book#15 in the series and woke up craving it.

I am balancing a stack, but these are two are at the forefront:The Raven has been knocking it out of the park thus far.
Dust has been quite strong. It packs a punch, that's for sure.
2001: A Space Odyssey. Actually this is a re-read, preparatory to reading (for the first time) Clarke’s three sequels: 2010: Odyssey Two, 2061: Odyssey Three, and 3001: The Final Odyssey.

Thanks, Ctgt. I love Clarke and have long meant to get to these...between the long summer months and the pandemic lockdown I finally can. I’ll report back as I go!
Anita wrote: "Great book! Read it about a month ago and really enjoyed it."This one is actually a reread for me. This time I'm reading it to my SO. (We're doing a thing where we read one of our favorite books to each other.) But I loved it when I read it last year! Really looking forward to reading more of David Mitchell's work. :)
