I thought it was really good, and quite creepy. It's a thriller/mystery but there is a bit of paranormal tossed in as well."

Thanks for the review, I have it on my list.

Marie | 4028 comments I finished this three book omnibus last week and it was really good!
Shadow Detective Urban Fantasy Horror Series Books 1-3 (Shadow Detective Boxset Book 1) by William Massa

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 878 comments I finished You Are Not Alone in a day - it was pretty addictive! It was a different kind of thriller that was hard to predict, which made it a win for me.

I enjoyed it. Sort of chilling, especially with what has been going on lately.

Kelly B (kellybey) | 630 comments A Nest of Nightmares by Lisa Tuttle

Loved, loved, loved this book of short stories! Not much in the way of gore or action, but more quiet and invasive horror.

Truly amazing and also heartbreaking.

I must agree with that statement.

I finished a couple:
Coleridge by Tom Deady by Tom Deady 3.5* (This was pretty good, but I wanted more.)

True Crime by Samantha Kolesnik by Samantha Kolesnik A beautifully told brutal tale. 4*

Night in the Lonesome October

5 stars. I am not even halfway through Laymon's bibliography, but so far, this is my personal favourite, even better than The Traveling Vampire Show. This story is a weird and bizarre journey through the night.

I liked it, but that character building was really awesome!

Kelly B (kellybey) | 630 comments Childgrave by Ken Greenhall

I thought this book was just okay. I absolutely hated the main character and the (dumb) choices he made, so that soured me on the book.

The Picture Frame by Iain Rob Wright by Iain Rob Wright

and

The Seance in Apartment 10 by Ambrose Ibsen by Ambrose Ibsen

Killer by Peter Tonkin

It impressed me as an adventure novel, but not as a horror piece.

That's my favorite by him.

The Freakshow by Bryan Smith

My third book by Smith. So far, all of the books I have read also had a strong bizarro element to them. I enjoyed this very much.

Slowly We Rot

Surreal, mindfucking and dark and depressing as fuck. Judging by the Bryan Smith books I've read so far, this is probably his masterpiece.

Kelly B (kellybey) | 630 comments The Return by Rachel Harrison

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 878 comments Got done with 'Salem's Lot finally! Can't believe it took me so long to read it! A lot of it felt familiar and I'm not sure if that's because of details in The Dark Tower series or if I've just been picking up references from pop culture subconsciously. Really enjoyed it though!

My review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

'Salem's Lot by Stephen King

Catherine Cavendish | 314 comments Forest of Fire (no link available) by Russell James - the latest Grant Coleman adventure.Thoroughly enjoyable

A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay - scary as hell. Great story!

The Reddening by Adam Nevill - folklore horror at its best from one of my favourites

message 189: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 450 comments Mirror by Graham Masterton.

A solid 3/5. Some of the grisly bits were fun but it took way to long to get going.

And having Boofuls being the kids name! Boofuls! Come on!!

It's worth a read if you like pulpy mediocre horror. It does have a cool picture on the inside cover so it was worth the £1 I paid for it.
