As I far exceeded my goal of 70 books in 2019 I'm going to start with a goal of 80 for 2020.

My biggest goal this year is series catch up as I have over 100 series that I've started and not finished. Beyond that I would like to try and read at least 3 physical books for everyone I buy to get down the impossible piles!

This is where I'll have the links to my challenges as well as keep up with what I'm reading and hopefully talk to you all about books!

My TBR mountain. I am really bad at adding more books to my TBR than I could possibly read. Goal is to end the year with less books on my want to read list than I started with meaning reading more than adding new ones! This total includes both owned and wanted books.

Start of 2020- Want to read list at 919

Total at the end of each month:

January 838 I changed my shelves around and added a freebies unread shelf that I am slowly adding all my free kindle books to so this lowered my regular tbr. 390 Freebies added

February 839 and 467 freebies

March 842 and 715 freebies

April 849 and 803 freebies

May 835 and 912 freebies

June 826 and 994 freebies

July 830 1050 freebies

August

September

October

November 828 1398 freebies

December

Thanks Lili!! Its a little crazy, but finding books for challenges can be fun. Or just trying to stick a random book in a place lol.

It is fun! I love challenges and I almost wish I would've picked more for 2020. But I just didn't find any I really wanted to participate in and commit to, so I just stuck with two I really need to work on.

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
That's fair! Going to post some here yet too. Plus the Quarterly ones from you! So there will be plenty of challenges going around

I didn't manage to finish things before the end of the year so I am carrying a bunch of books over.

Currently reading Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop in hard copy, The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1) by Holly Black on ebook and Legendary (Caraval, #2) by Stephanie Garber on audio.

Ooh I’m going to steal your statistics as I think that’s such a fun idea to see. Also, I’m doing something similar where I’m not buying a book until I’ve read at least 5. This is not counting the fact that I do get 2 book subscription boxes a month. Due to that I’m gonna try and only buy a book if I’ve read more than 5 but we will see how it goes. No doubt i will fail at that when I’m at the book con in the summer.

message 18: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Fair! I figure if I can keep it to buy one for every 3 then at least the piles go down a little.... but I will probably fail at it too lol.

And yes do that statistics! Its so fun. I stopped halfway through 2019 when life got too crazy and then was too lazy to go back and update it but Ive got it this year!

I love stats! I've been keeping track for a couple years now, and I agree, it's a lot of fun! I keep track of mine on a spreadsheet though, it's just too many numbers 😅 lol

It's such a fun way to see your progress. I've modified the stats categories slightly on mine as I sort my TBR out with certain genre labels so I've gone for those :)

Makes sense Kay! I'm going to go check out which ones you are using.

Finished High Fantasies (Rat Queens, #4) by Kurtis J. Wiebe it was alright

Finished Flying Witch, Vol. 1 by Chihiro Ishizuka it was adorable. Sometimes just have to read some cute fluffy manga :)

message 27: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Finished Library Wars Love & War, Vol. 4 (Library Wars Love & War, #4) by Kiiro Yumi so cute, good addition to the series. Going to keep trying to read manga and comics in between the regular reading :)

message 28: by Anna (new)

Anna | 36 comments I love all your challenges, Britt! You got this. I’m hoping to finish some series too.

message 29: by Sonnie (new)

Sonnie (sonnie2006) Britt, I'm always in awe of your organization abilities lol. Did you love Cruel Prince?! It's one of my favorites! Book 2 is even better.

message 30: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Haha thanks, I do most of the organizing when I'm on nights at work on my down time!

I did not love Cruel Prince. I thought it was okay, interesting enough to continue but not amazing. Too slow to start. I think book two should be better with the world already set up.

message 31: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments @Brittany I felt meh about the Cruel Prince, I liked the second book a lot more and loved the third book! So there’s hope haha

message 32: by Sonnie (new)

Sonnie (sonnie2006) Aw, sadness! Holly Black is kind of always a hit and miss for me, but I felt like Cruel Prince was her best series yet. Plus the narrator was just amazing. But it is one of those series that just gets better with each book if you decide to continue on.

message 33: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
I read it instead of listened to it so maybe that was part of the difference Sonnie. It was my first Holly Black book too.

Thanks Laura! I figured book 2 would be better so I will get to it... eventually lol

I finally finished reading Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop . It was good just feels like I've been reading it forever.

message 35: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Finished listening to Legendary (Caraval, #2) by Stephanie Garber thought it was a bit of a disappointing sequel. The same magic just wasn't there. I'll still read book 3 though.

message 36: by Sonnie (new)

Sonnie (sonnie2006) Britt, I felt that way about Legendary too. Scarlet's story was just so much more compelling for me. I enjoyed the third book, but to me the first was definitely the best.

message 37: by Anna (new)

Anna | 36 comments I will agree! I thought Caraval was the best of the 3 books. I just loved the mystery and uniqueness of it.

message 38: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
So disappointing! But I'm glad I'm not the only one. That world had so much potential to grow

message 39: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
I've been starting lots of things but not finishing them lately. Waiting on more books to come back from the library (Scarlet, Bitterblue).
I got bored listening to A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles so I gave up on it, maybe I will try reading it someday but the audio just didnt work.
So I am currently listening to A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas , reading Broken Elements (Elements, #1) by Mia Marshall on ebook and 1984 by George Orwell in hardcopy

message 40: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

I hate when that happens 😩 I hope something works out for you!

message 41: by Brittany (new)

Thanks! I haven't been reading as much which is part of the problem so I keep running out of time on library holds! I actually own all 3 of what I am reading now so that should help
