SOLVED. Mystery(?) book about cards (maybe aces) that appear with an address written on them. [s]

I read this book about eight years ago. It had a playing card on the cover - perhaps ace of spades. The main character (pretty sure he's male) mysteriously gets a card with an address and has to help the people at that address (I think. He definitely has to do something concerning them and there's an element of urgency and secrecy). I think it takes place in a town as opposed to a city. I don't remember if the cards all appear to the same person or if they each go to different people.

At the end of the book, the narrator addresses the reader directly or becomes a character or something like that.
