Are there movies you find yourself watching over and over again on TV or DVD? Come on, Fess up!

Here's my list

Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightley/Matthew MacFadyen version)
Sleepy Hollow
Doom (purely for the eye candy--Karl Urban and The Rock, meow!)
300 (um, for similar reasons, and also very visually stirring)
Underworld
Aliens
XXX
The Chronicles of Riddick
The LOTR movies
Old School
The Best Man
Something New
Van Helsing
The Long Kiss Goodnight
The Waterboy

I'm sure there are more...

Sharon Huxford (blackpanthershay) | 970 comments Underworld is one of my favourite movies!!!

Underworld is a very, very re-watchable movie.

message 4: by new_user (last edited Sep 14, 2009 07:27PM) (new)

new_user My favorite movies, LOL. Underworld, Jason Bourne, Riddick, Transporter, Tristan & Isolde, The Painted Veil, North & South (so many times), Persuasion (oh, Rupert!), O Brother Where Art Thou?, Borat. I probably can't see a romantic comedy more than twice. They're like a book of jokes.

message 5: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Huxford (blackpanthershay) | 970 comments I wanted to be in that movie..maybe I will get to be in number 4 or
Eclipse lol

You have a few of my repeat offenders on your list, NU: The Bourne Identity and The Transporter. There's not a lot of romantic comedies I can watch a lot.
More movies I can watch a lot (when they come on)
While You Were Sleeping
Speed
A Walk in the Clouds

message 7: by new_user (new)

new_user Yeah, I can see clips of Twilight again if I'm in the mood.

Yeah the only scenes in Twilight I want to see are when they bring the truck for Bella, walking on the beach and then end of the prom lol

LOTR came on yesterday. When I've gotten home from church and turned on the TV, flipping channels, I've came across The Two Towers. It was like 15 minutes, before the end.

Legolas was on that horse. I have to say that the horse scene, where he has to get on that white horse is memorable. That scene was a hot topic back, when that movie came out.

There's a part in the movie that made me laugh. It's the part where the tree that's on fire, goes stick his head in the water to put the fire out.

Now down to movies that I can give my attention too, if I am not busy.

1. Better Off Dead

2. LOTR Movies

3. Weird Science

4. The Goonies

5. Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom: Short Round made the movie interested.

6. Bring It Own: This the only version that I like

7. Get Over It

8. Clueless

9. Drive Me Crazy

That's all for now. I have more that if I am not busying and flipping the channel, they might get my attention.

Jenn | 126 comments Emma

Pride and Predjudice

Sense and Sensibility (notice the pattern)

Clueless

Congo (can't explain that one)

Van Helsing (HJ naked, drool)

Long Kiss Goodnight (just broke up with this dude and went to the movies by myself for the first time and what a surprise to see a female kick butt!)

Dirty Dancing (Need I explain?)

Labyrinth (started my one sided preteen love affair with David Bowie)

The Devil Wears Prada (love the close, screw work ethics, I would have kept that job it's PRADA for goodness sake!)

High School Musical I & III (partially because of my little girl , but mainly because of Z.E shirtlessness)

Arch I haven't noticed that your list comes on that much lately. But there definitely are some repeats on there.

I end up watching the X-Men movies a lot too.

I won't be buying that one (until it's five dollars or even less). I was annoyed at what they did to Deadpool's character. I know I'm the only one on earth who wasn't fond of this movie. I liked the eye candy, but as a fan of the comic characters, I was pretty annoyed. I'm sure my mom will get a copy.

Jenn | 126 comments Arch wrote: "Danielle, speaking of X-Men, Wolverine comes out today."

No, you are not the only one. Other than HJ naked (weird how I keep coming back to that?), I can not think of anything I liked about it. I almost forgot that I went to see it really.

message 21: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Sees Love in All Colors (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 7331 comments Mod
Yeah, I thought Wolverine was out of character too. I am starting to get more and more disenchanted with the Hollywood movies, and that's sad coming from a serious movie buff.

message 26: by TinaNoir (last edited Sep 15, 2009 07:36AM) (new)

TinaNoir | 1456 comments My repeat offenders fall into two categories: oldies and testosterone fanboy stuff

In the Oldies I like to watch over and over:
Gilda (Rita Hayworth is a stone Goddess! in the movie and the dialogue is razor sharp)
All About Eve (ditto on the razor sharp dialogue and Bette Davis being a goddess)
Singing in the Rain - like comfort food except in movie format
The Godfather Probably the best movie ever made. To me.

The testosterone fanboy stuff:
Aliens
Terminator II
Die Hard
LOTR II & III
I am partial to Eomer. Karl Urban is the Sexy!
Pulp Fiction & Scarface probably the two most quotable movies of all time!

Tina you and my mom would get along well. She loves the old movies, and made disciples of my sister and I. She's why we are such movie buffs to this day. She loves Gilda. Nothing like the old musicals to cheer you up.

message 28: by Jenn (new)

Jenn | 126 comments Isn't it interesting how our comfort movies are a definate mixture two distinct catagories happy romance/musicals and bad a** guys in action. What would Freud say about that?

You're right, LaVerne. We have a very similar list. I thought about putting POTC on there. I don't watch it every time, but I do find myself gravitating towarding watching it. Pitch Black is another I forgot to list.

Also the anime version of Howl's Moving Castle (voiced by Christian Bale). :)

That scene at the end is one of the most romantic scenes ever. The passion that Richard Armitage puts into that kiss. If I could ever jump into a character for two minutes, let it be in this scene.

You can tell something is going on between these two. I never thought of it as IR novel, but now that mention it, yeah, it could work.

Another one I forgot to add was the Long Hot Summer.
