John Hey! Thought you guys might like to know. I went to a signing last night, and there's good news and bad news. The bad news is that the movie isn't happening. Apparently they want to to change it too radically. Tactus would have basically no part, Sevro becomes a minor side character, and they wanted to have a love triangle between Mustang, Darrow, and....Sevro? That's right, they wanted to turn his character into a girl. So Pierce noped the hell out of that, rightfully so, and bought the rights back. The good news is that he wants to turn it into a show, and personally write all of the episodes! He's completely dedicated to it capturing the magic of the series. He wouldn't say who the producer was that they were in talks with, but from the sounds of it they're pretty big. Should be awesome!

MzBond I think this would make a much better TV series than a movie. It should be of the TVMA variety and done on maybe FX. A series would slow them to really spend time on a lot of the details which really make this story so good. I think a movie will not do it justice and I’m sorry to say I’m preparing for disappointment.

Kira so glad to hear this is being considered for a series. a film would never do it justice. following in the footsteps of the Expanse, and now Altered Carbon, it would be perfect on a streaming or cable service. i'm just now happily beginning Iron Gold.

Chloe It would be much better as a mini series because I've read the book twice and I still barely understand what is going on so if it would get fleshed out as a mini series I would be able to enjoy it soooo much better

Gory hell, that movie would've been a bloodydamn mess. PB definitely made the right call in taking the rights back. I'd honestly settle for no RR tv show/movie then have to sit through the mess Universal was planning to put out. That being said, I really do hope that one of Netflix, HBO or Cinemax picks it up and green lights a PB approved version of it.
