Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I finally got my hands on a copy of Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3) by Pamela Clare and realized immediately that I'd read it before I joined Goodreads. Of course, having fibro fogs (=memory loss), I didn't remember the details. Maybe I will this time long enough for the group discussion :-)

I finished listening to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. I listened to this book on my commute to work and thoroughly enjoyed it. The story is fantastic and the narration by Jim Dale is top-notch. This book made me wish I could just keep driving and driving.

❆ Crystal ❆ (crystal_wright) Jonetta, I haven't listened to any of the audios for the Highland Guard series... I'm interested in what you think.

Robin,
The Harry Potter series on Audio is so fantastic! I have the last 2 books left to listen to but I'm kinda stalled out so that I finish when book 8 comes out end of July.

I'm getting further behind in Mercy Thompson. I've heard this is a good one.

I loved the Higgins book. I believe it's the last in the series.

Last night, I finished Running Blind by Cindy Gerard, One-Eyed Jacks #3, and was underwhelmed. Here's my review.

I'm already about 1/4 into Barefoot with a Bad Boy by Roxanne St. Claire, Barefoot Bay Undercover #3, and loving it.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I finished #3 One-Eyed Jacks today: Running Blind (One-Eyed Jacks, #3) by Cindy Gerard . I wasn't quite as underwhelmed as Jonetta, but I thought there was a huge disconnect toward the end. No spoilers here.

Since I have Book #4 from our state library system, I'll probably read it soon: Taking Fire (One-Eyed Jacks, #4) by Cindy Gerard .

Laura So Charlene and Jonetta are 1 and 2 of One eyed Jacks series good, and #3 is just underwhelming or the series as a whole?

I loved the first two books. This third book seemed like it was written by a different author. The main couple behaved like they were in a teenage romance, the dialogue was trite and it was cliche laden. It started wonderfully and digressed. The suspense was good but even that fell short with a hurried climax.

I've got the fourth book in the queue so hopefully this was an anomaly. I do recommend, however, that you read her Black Ops series first. The characters are being drawn from that series.

The new series is a spinoff but I didn't know that before I started it. It wasn't so obvious in the first two books but definitely was in this one.

I'm a few hours in and am enjoying the narration. Typical of most male narrators, his female characters come off a bit odd but not overly so.
