Luci Limón (lucilimon) | 245 comments Hey there!

One more year I'm joining this challenge (this time from the beginning!!) hoping to read at least two books a month.

2019 was uneven but I managed to reach my 25 book goal! This time around I'm hoping to make some improvements, mostly I want to be more consistent, although I know that there will be some reading slumps to overcome, hopefully I will manage to read something every month! That way it will be much easier to reach my goal.

As the previous time, I'm going to use this thread to put all the reading challenges I join and keeping track of everything.

Luci Limón (lucilimon) | 245 comments Info for myself that I really don't want to forget

* By reading 1 hour a day I can read up to 18,250 pages in a year (50 pages/hour).
* 1 book a week = 52 books a year.
* My reading speed is ±317 words/min and an average page contains 250 words, so I should be able to read 1 page/min.
* The average length of the books that I read is 350 pages (it would take me around 6 hours to read a book of that lenght, so by reading one hour a day I could finish an average book in under a week).

I read "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" this year and looved it. Definitely recommendable. Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it whenever you read it :)
I just finished reading "Every Heart a Doorway". In all honesty, I thought it was good but not worth the hype. How did you like it?

Hey Lisa! I added The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo because I was recommended it last week, so with you mentioning it again I think it's going to be my first read for next year!!! I hope I'll enjoy it as much as you did :)
As for Every Heart a Doorway, I really liked it, although I must admit the ending was quite bitter for me, but it worked and made me want to know what's going to happen in the next book! Are you planning on continuing the series? Going by your experience with the first one you may not be in the mood...
Hope to see you around, and thanks for your kind words! :)

message 16: by Lisa (last edited Dec 26, 2019 12:19PM) (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I am curious but I have a feeling that's more the completionist in me, that urges me to finish reading the series. I'm not sure I'm curious enough to keep going. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the descriptions of the different worlds and the premise of it all, but I don't think it'll be the first book of the year :D I have my eye on it on Libby, so I guess we'll see whenever it becomes available again :D

PS. Wow that was really vague.. sorry for that nonanswer. That was annoying :D

message 17: by Luci (new)

Luci Limón (lucilimon) | 245 comments Hahaha I got it, sometimes you don't know what you will be reading! And I also feel like once I start a series I have to finish it, even if I didn't love it. But when I've done it hasn't been a great experience, so I've decided that if I'm not even mildly hooked on the first book, it's a no-go for me.

Again, I hope to see you around in the group, maybe we'll meet in the All the Light We Cannot See group read! :)
