Task #10: Read a book that takes place in a rural setting

we read this in my local book club and i heard Tom Hanks has made it into a film to be released in Dec this year also.

The Call of the Wild
I also read The Great Alone, Simon the Fiddler, Light Changes Everything, and Little House In the Big Woods which would count.

Its a small town, not a farming community, but I would say rural enough to qualify.

Super enjoyable book makes me want to go live on a farm!

Ironweed by William Kennedy is a book that has been on my shelves for 20+ years, but I won't read it for this. It's set in Albany, NY. Some people would say it's not much of a city, but it is a city.
I'm hoping to read some Richard Russo like Mohawk or Nobody's Fool. These are set in a place like Russo's native Johnstown, NY. I started Empire Falls, but it's set in ME.
