Need a ruling--there was a lot of talk of praying to saints and someone lit a candle in front of the statue of the virgin, but did not explicitly say that there was a prayer at the time.
So either 14 or 16 points depending on the praying to saints ruling.

Paired with Peggy, who gave me Mudbound by Hillary Jordan. I went with same first name and read Fludd "

It was great to get a chance to read another Bradbury book of short stories. Some of them were familiar from other short story collections, but some were new to me. He had such an awesome imagination. His stories are not just science fiction, but fantasy and contemporary too. His stories are just as relevant today as they were when he was writing in the late 1950s and through the 1960s when the stories in this book were first published. He has such human characters and brings such a range of emotions and beautiful prose into his works. I loved every one, right up to the last word on the last page of the book.

Oh ye of few words.... which book did you read?
The instructions say:
"Start your report with your Wall of Fame Name (WoF).
Tell us the name of the book you were given.
Link to the book you read."
So if you followed the instructions, you were given Gabriel's Inferno and read Frankenstein.

So tiny as to be more implied than seen. Rules for covers have always been - prominent, clearly visible and identifiable. The prominent things on that cover is the ocean and the boat.

My partner is Jayme. She chose the book My Cousin Rachel. I read Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. The books share a feature on the cover - a woman holding an umbrella seen from the back.

I wouldn't give it an absolute recommendation though I plan to finish the trilogy next year. A lot of it was young women making their debut in society and trying to get husbands. One love interest was a circus performer *rolls eyes*. But I did eat it up. Magic is illegal, everyone is scheming for power and people are being murdered. Add in steampunk and Sherlock Holmes as a minor character and there's probably too much forced into one book. Still I'm looking forward to the next one.
