SOLVED. Fantasy book about mirror giving eternal life. [s]

I read this book about 14 years ago. The plot is about a mirror that prolongs life. It starts with a male visitor to a house where the occupants are described as beibg a female called eva and male adolf. Supposedly hitler although not named. The books tells the story of a mirror which passes from various people which includes da vinci. Its a fantasy book ranging from renaissance times to present day.

how weird your message just popped and google decided to tell me it thinks the book is called the medusa amulet . which I have just looked up and it is indeed the book I was searching for. I will changed to solved as soon as I'm near my pc, after xmas. thank you for your comment.

Huh, I saw The Medusa Amulet by Robert Masello in the search results but skipped it thinking it wasn't mirror-like. Just goes to show, it pays to guess.
