Alison I do not know title or author name or what the cover looks like. I read the book years ago (maybe 6 or 7? So 2013-2014) as an ebook.

As written in the title I consider this book to be Fantasy and for sure Fiction.

The book has multiple main characters but the 2 most important ones (and the ones I remember) is a guy named Killian who is described as having red hair and a girl (name?) who is described as having very fair skin and hair and he finds her beautiful. Killian throughout the story is described as someone good at hiding, fighting, tracking, and is emotionally distant. I think he was working under someone (older man) to end the war. The parts of the story that I remeber is the girl was bathing in a lake and (we soon find out) Killian sees her. I think he ended up knocking her unconscious to keep his cover and then they end up agreeing to travel together (by horse and foot) but don't trust each other at first. They are attracted to each other by the end of the book but never have a full fledged relationship because they have to go their own ways. They end up parting ways at some point and she meets people (an army I think) in a desert setting and their leader guy/general/king starts falling for her while she helps them strategize and stays with them. At the end of the book her, the army leader, and Killian as well as I believe other characters all end up at the same place and Killian has to go away (portal?) and they suspect that it will be dangerous and she doesnt know when she'll see him again. She kisses Killian goodbye in front of the army leader who is confused cuz he doesn't know about Killian. The book ends after Killian has gone through the portal and I'm pretty sure it's followed by another book.

More about the world...it's not Earth, people use horses and the buildings are described as old, run down, and made of wood mostly. I think at one point they visit a city built from a lot of stone and there is a very important and big bridge. There is no phones, internet, cars, etc. There is magic and the main girl might have some magic.

It was a fairly long book (over 300 pages I'd guess) but not an epic fantasy and was not filled with strange metaphors and descriptions. Read it easily and quickly.

Any suggestions would be great and thanks in advance.
