ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments A minute and a half passed and their was no sign of Alex. Vee only had one choice to do. She was about to shout for help and get a life guard. But then she saw something move under the water.

"That wasn't funny" she splashes him with water after he came up. "You had me scared to death. I thought I lost you" Vee turns around from him and wipes the tears, mad at his silly act.

But she was relieved to know he was alive and ok. It would have been her fault if he died she wouldn't know what to say to his parents.

H :) | 158 comments Alex smiled, hopping back up onto the board and causing it to tip dangerously. Her expression wasn't wasted on it, and he couldn't help but feel a little bad. Still, he was mostly amused and a little bit touched. She actually cared.

"You would have missed me?" Alex asked, flipping his wet hair out of his eyes. He didn't wait for an answer. "But...I'm Alex Hathaway. I don't drown."

He dangled his feet in the water, smiling. Sure, they weren't surfing, but this was nice, too. Relaxing.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee held on the surfboard as it tilted so she would fall. "No I wouldn't have missed you. No matter who you are" she tells him. But of course she would have. She compared him like a brother that he never had.

Finally after caking down from everything and relaxing in the piece of wood with Alex, she said "this is better then surfing. You don't have to worry about dying like this" she smirks.

message 104: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex smiled. "But that's the fun of it. Speeding along so fast you feel like the wind is shredding the skin off your face, knowing that, if you fell off, you'd probably turn into a human pancake on the surface of the ocean..." He smiled, his grey eyes flickering dreamily. "That's the best bit." After a moment, he glanced apologetically at Vee. "Sorry. That probably sounds a little...psychopathic or something."

Alex laughed, before reaching out of kick playfully at her board, causing to tip slightly - but not enough to knock her off it. "And who knows. Maybe you could still die like this..." He teased, smiling. "Not that I would let that happen."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee simply shrugs. She didn't like how that really sounds, especially the pancake part. "No, not really" she tells him about what he thought he sounded like. "Ok... Maybe a little" she admits with a smile.

"Huh" Vee pulled in a deep breath as he tried to scary her by tipping her board, already having air just incase she actually fell. "Stop!" She warned him. Her knuckles white as she tightly gripped on the board. "We'll not really. Not if you didn't have someone crazy like you to tip them"

message 106: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex laughed, his eyes intensifying as he looked into hers. After a moment, his laugh faded, and his expression softened. "I wouldn't let that happen. I wouldn't let you fall."

He smiled, standing up precariously on his board and smiling down at her.

"That doesn't mean that I won't fall, though." With a grin, he leapt off his board, curling into a ball and flipping over twice before he hit the water with a large splash. He surfaced, grinning.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments She pushed her still soaked hair out of her face, the sun shining into her blacks eyes. Everything was perfect.

With a crazy grin of her own Vee got on a crouch on the board and the pushed herself up as quickly jumping with her knees pulled to her chest "woah!" . Making a splash of her own, she managed to find his hand and pulled herself up.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments ((Lol put this first then read the others. Sorry!))

Vee sighs. Everything turned out great. She glances at her sister and Alex's little brother to find them still playing and more then halfway done with the big castle. She looked back to Alex to see him surface with the crazy smile of his, and felt like the insides of her body slightly melt, which was somewhat weird. But at the moment nothing.

H :) | 158 comments Alex smiled, watching the little ones play. It was a strange sight - Andrew, tall and lanky and tanned with his mop of blonde curls, beside Belle, who was probably only half his size, her little head bent over next to his. Andy had always been good with little kids, and seemed never happier than when he made a child laugh or smile.

"We could go back..." Alex suggested, reluctantly, grinning. "But they seem pretty happy. What do you say?"

He tugged lightly on her hand, pulling it down into the water, so it was partially submerged. Her skin glistened beneath the ocean, and Alex smiled, glancing up into her eyes. "See? The water's nice. You should come in."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "I'm not sure..." She says a little weary. But then again she had an urge to just do it. She usually had times like that where she let brave enough to face her face and what not. And this felt like one of those moment. The kids seemed perfectly fine and the water looked nice.

With a smile she finally says. "Ok"

H :) | 158 comments Alex smiled. "Good."

He gently tugged her wrist so the board tipped slightly, causing her to slide towards him. As she slowly slipped towards him, he opened his arms to catch her, his arms slipping under hers and circling her shoulder blades, keeping her above the surface of the water. Alex tried to ignore the imaginary sparks that flew between them, sending pulses of electricity up his arms.

"See? It's not bad."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee a bit too worried to concentrate on the feeling she was getting for his touch. She wrapped her arms around his neck to make sure their was no way she would be sinking down. "Just don't let go of me" she warns him, a hint of fear in her voice. She slowly kicked her legs in the water to keep herself up with him. It felt nice, if she was to be honest. She cool water, his arms, the warm sun. It was nice to be like this. She couldn't help but have that fear fade and a smile grow instead.

message 113: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex smiled, kicking his legs effortlessly to keep them above the surface. "I won't," he said, softly, his lips inches from Vee's bare neck - a proximity that was distracting him slightly. He tried not to think about how close they were, about how easy it would be to just...kiss her. In fact, he tried not to think at all. All this thoughts came back to her, anyway. "I'd never let go of you."

A small wave bobbed towards them, and Alex kicked a little harder to stay afloat. Their boards bobbed gently over the wave behind them, still tethered to their respective ankles.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments ((Sorry i havent posted. I have my phonr y

H :) | 158 comments ((That's okay :) Take your time, and don't worry about it :D))

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee looked out into the water. " it kinda weird how I always wanted, and still do, to be a mermaid. But I'm also kinda afraid of swimming" she shook her head at herself. She couldn't never forget how obsessed with mermaids when she was little.

" it would be cool to swim down to the reefs and see all the little tiny fish's swim around. Or to see a school of them! And also find other mermaids like me" she adds.

((So sorry!! I actually forgot^●^))

message 117: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex laughed. "I think, Miss Skye, you're one of a kind. Don't think you'd find any other mermaids down there."

He glanced at her, and he could almost imagine it, her with a tail of sky blue, to match her name, or maybe one of black that perfectly matched her eyes. He could see her dark hair flowing out behind her, could picture her surrounded by fish, shining brighter than ever.

But she was beautiful enough as it was.

Alex laughed. "There's nothing to be afraid of. Water is..." Alex smiled, unsure of how to phrase his point. "I don't know. I like it almost more than land. It's calmer. You feel isolated - in a good way - when you're underwater, and it's so peaceful. You don't have to listen to anyone else, you don't have to care at all. You can just...float." Alex demonstrated by gesturing widely with his arms. After a moment, he smiled sheepishly. "And maybe it's because I'm a total klutz on land, but my clumsiness doesn't get in the way in water."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "Well you are a klutz on land" she admits to him playfully. "But yah i do agree with you there". Vee may be a little scared of the whole stowing thing but she loved the water. It was cool, calming and refreshing. It was the best place to escape to when you need time.

"How about we go back to the kids" she says looking back to their little siblings then Alex, still having her arms tightly around his neck to keep herself up. "Besides I'm getting hungry" she adds.

message 119: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex smiled. "Sure. Andre and I made sandwiches and stuff before we came. It's nothing special, considering that neither of us can cook. So I hope you like cheese. And peanut butter. And maybe jam, if you're lucky."

He paddled over to his surfboard and slung an arm over it, and grabbing the end of Vee's. He gestured at her borrowed board. "Your ride, princesa?"

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee gripped onto her borrowed board that he pulled up to her and pulled herself up on it. She settles with each if her feet on each side of the board.

"I hope you didn't put the cheese with the the jam, or the other?" she asked, a little worried to what he would feed her. Not that she didn't trust him... We'll maybe not with food. Just a little.

message 121: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex furrowed his brow. "Don't think so." He frowned, pushing the boards gently along the water, with Vee bobbing lightly on top. "Although my dad does like eating peanut butter and marmite. He'll eat anything, so cheese and jam wouldn't really be a problem with him around..." Alex laughed. "But I think I made decent enough sandwiches."

He waved at Andre, who had glanced up at them from the sandcastle he was building with Belle.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "But your dad is still pretty cool" she admits. Yah he had a different taste but he was fun to hang out with when board. "I brought drink with me too. Coke, water and fruit punch. I wasn't sure what you guys wanted" she watched him as he waved to his brother. It was nice to know that he cared for his brother, like she cared for her sister.

"This is the last time I'm surfing" she says as she bobbed every time their was a wave.

message 123: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex pouted. "How sad. Surfing is...amazing." He smiled, his damp hair blowing in the breeze as his grey eyes flashed in the sun. "I've always loved it. But I guess people are different. I couldn't put up with half of the stuff that Danny loved." Alex paused, chewing his lip awkwardly. "Uh, loves."

He cleared his throat, shaking water droplets out of his hair to detract from the awkward silence. "And punch and coke sounds great. I'm dying of thirst."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee was about to say something. Like explain the reason why she didn't like serving which if she started now she would end with her reasons by the time she had her feet on the sand. But then he said something about what Danny loved and how he couldn't tolerate it. But Danny loved her? He wasn't talking about her right? No, he changed it to loves. That's different, right? Because Danny loves a lot of things. She knew he loved watching games or going to the park to play with the guys. She knew he loved to eat burgers more than anything. Or that he loves to make fun of her when he sees her struggling only to tease her. Their was more, much more and Vee knew them all.

Vee was distracted with thoughts that she didn't even hear Alex try and change the subject to drinks. Her eyes just looked into the cool water, still thinking about Danny as their boards slowly made their way to shore.

message 125: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments "Hey." Alex leaned over and touched her arm lightly. "We're not thinking about that, remember. I'm sorry I brought it up."

Alex's feet touched the sand, and he relaxed slightly. The journey was much easier now that he wasn't trying to swim while pushing two surfboards and a teenage girl across the ocean.

Alex smiled, feeling that he had to add something else to the conversation. "He loves you. Again, one of those things that I just can't stand." Alex teased, poking his tongue out at her. "Joking, joking. You're an incredible girl, Vee Sky. I know that. Danny knows that." He smiled, glancing at the kids on the beach. "Andrew knows that. Belle knows - have you seen how she looks up to you?" He smiled, picking up a piece of seaweed that had been bobbing on the surface and flicking it at Vee. "You're the only girl that Danny's ever been interested in. The only time he ever used the word beautiful was when he was describing you."

Alex sighed, glancing at the horizon, which was a deep shade of sky blue. "He'll be back before we know it, Vee. Nothing could keep you two apart."

That was the truth of it, as much as Alex might have wished otherwise.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee felt a little better. Of course because of his words. She was glad that she was with Alex. He made her feel better about this situation. He was always their for her and knew what to say. "You really think?" She says shyly as she looked back to her little sister. She didn't think her little sister thought of her that way. Nor did she think that his brother and veering else did too. It made her feel better about herself. At less she has something to remember when she's not feeling so good.

message 127: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex laughed, "No, Vee. I know. I know you're incredible, and you should know it too." He padded lightly across the sand, pushing the boards further towards the shore. "I also know that he'll be back, and that nothing will have changed. You just have to believe that. Don't doubt yourself, don't doubt him, and listen to the advice of your wise sensei here." Alex gestured jokingly at himself. "Just be happy. I don't want you to be sad, Danny doesn't want you to be sad. I'm pretty sure you don't want to be sad. So let's just enjoy life, and Danny will be back before you know it." Alex grinned. "Who knows, maybe he'll even have a British accent."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments He was right. She did want to be happy and every one else did too. In the end she said " I always did have a thing for guys with accents" she admits with a soft giggle. Finally after a few minutes they reached the sand and Vee was able to step off the board. "Finally. Now I dot have to worry about drowning" she says playfully and takes the band off her ankle then picks up the board. "C'mon. The kids must be hungry" she nods towards their siblings and started to head to them.

message 129: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments "I had a proper British accent when I was five," Alex laughed. "It wasn't even a normal one, either - all the other kids in my class had pretty regional accents, but I just sounded like freaking Winnie the Pooh." Alex smiled. "And then we moved here. My mother's the only one with an accent now."

He grinned and ran the last few metres towards the kids, wrapping his arms around his little brother and ruffling his hair. "Got you. Hungry?"

Andre nodded, folding his arms. "Starved. I'm even hungry enough to eat something that you made."

"Funny." Alex flushed, glancing at Vee.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee followed him in a jog. She placed down the surf board and pushed her black hair out of her face.

"Vee! Vee! " Bella jumped and ran to her sister. "Look at the sand castle we made" he pulls her by the hand to stand before the castle.

"Wow. You guys really out done yourselves" Vee praises them. "Maybe if their was a contests you would come first place" she squeezed her sister in a warm arm hug. She them glanced at Alex and his brother, holding back a laugh to not seem rude. "I think we all are" she adds with a giggle.

H :) | 158 comments ((Sorry, haven't been on in ages... Schoolwork+exams...not a fun time))

Alex laughed, reaching into the bag at his feet and pulling out several bundles wrapped in tin foil. He opened one and peeked inside. "These ones are peanut butter. If you're allergic to nuts, I recommend not eating them." He opened the next packet. "These ones are...other things. Cheese. Salad. Chicken. That kind of thing. I wrapped them separately, because I hate when those things get mixed up with peanut butter..."

He shuddered, before realising that his conversation was going nowhere, and handed the sandwiches to Vee with a smile. He returned to digging around in the bag, and pulled out two bottles of coke and two fantas for the little ones.

"Let's feast," he grinned.

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee guides her little sister towards the boys and settles on their beach towel. Vee laughs in amusement and takes the food from him. "That good their separate. Katie's is actually allergic to peanuts." Vee pulled out two truly sandwiches, one for her and one for her sister, handing it to her.

"I don't want pop so Andy you can take it" Vee gives him a sweet smile and takes out juice bottles. She takes one and so does her sister.

"So how was surfing?" Katie asked in her childish voice.

((It's ok. I underhand))

message 133: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments "Oh." Alex's eyes widened. "Um, I hadn't thought of that. Crap. I should ave asked. Anyway, the cheese ones are fine. Promise."

Andre laughed, accepting the coke bottle. "Thanks, Vee."

Alex smiled down at the little girl in front of him. "It was pretty fun. It's like bodyboarding, only better." Alex smiled. "Not so sure your sister enjoyed it, though," he teased, smiling at Vee, and turning his attention to her. "Well? Would you go again?"

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments Vee took a bit of her sandwich and free swallowing she glanced at the two boys with a kind smile. "Unless my life depends on it, no" she admits. Her little sister laughs while she eats.

"It's hard and I'd rather not drown like I almost did" she said with hands up as if in surrender. Her phone vibrates and Vee sets her sandwich down, digging in her bag to get her phone.

After a few minutes of reading and replying, Vee sadly spoke and said "that was my mom. She says that me and Katie need to get back in a few minutes. Family are coming over tomorrow and we have to get the place ready." She looked up to meet their gaze, next to her her sister said happily "cousin James is coming! Yay!"

message 135: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex laughed. "You did not almost drown. You got a tiny bit of water in multiple orifices and struggled to breathe a little bit. But I never would have let you drown."

As Vee pulled her phone out of her bag, conversation was momentarily stunted, and Alex found himself admiring the view instead, almost entranced by the figure in front of him. She was beautiful, and the swimsuit was definitely working wonders as well. Everything about her was practically glowing in the sunlight, and Alex had to tear his eyes away from her before he got dragged in too deep.

He heard a snort, and turned to see his little brother, watching him with one eyebrow arched, clearly knowing what he was up to. Alex shot him a furious glare, before turning back to Vee, who had begun speaking again.

"Crap." Alex glanced at his watch. "When does she want you home by? We could get back by half four, if we leave now."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "Then we should go" Vee tells them all and moves to stand up. "C'mon sis" Vee told ear little sister and helped her up. She started to gather up their food to put away while her sister searched for her pink flip flop.

"And also I was drowning" she corrects Alex and handed him the basket with the food in it. She gave him a charming smile before saying "but I forgive you." With that she turns around and start to gather herself such as flip flops, beach towels, clothing's, sunglasses, etc.

message 138: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments Alex rolled his eyes. "You were not."

He grabbed the bag in one hand and his surfboard in the other, letting Andre take care of his own board. Alex led the way towards the car park, gently swinging the bag from his fingers.

"We should do that again sometime." He glanced at her. "Not the 'drowning' part, I mean. Or even the surfing. Just...hanging out."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "You dived in after me did you" She said, less of a question and more of a reminder. "That sounds like you trying to save me from drowning" she gave him a glance before grabbing her sisters hand.

She lead her sister towards the car and waited for the guys. "Maybe. But don't forget school is almost here" she groans. She didn't get enough of summer yet, plus she didn't want to start school without her boyfriend.

"Maybe we can do something really really fun!" Her sister said from next to her.

message 144: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments "Really fun?" Alex grinned, leaning over to smile at the little girl leaning against his car. "Like what?"

He glanced up at Vee, before averting his eyes, trying not to get caught staring at her. Again. He smiled, his cheeks dimpling effortlessly, the sharp angles of his face softening.

"We've only got thirteen days until school," Andy piped up, helpfully.

Alex sighed. "Yeah, I suppose. Still, we could do something fun." He glanced at Vee. "Before we become slaves of Mrs. Bennett again..."

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "Dont remind of her," vee groaned in annoyance. It was summer and that teacher didn't in it.

"How about we go to the zoo!" Vee's little sister said and jumped up and down. She was excited at the thought of seeing all the animals. But mostly the giraffes.

"Hmmm.... That seems like a good idea. What do you guys think?" Vee asked the boys.

((Its okay. Im just hope things are good with u. And sorry for the lost. If u ever need a break, its okay. ))

message 146: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments ((Thanks xx))

Alex smiled, glancing at Andrew. His brother rolled his eyes, smiling. Andrew spoke first. "Yeah, I'm sure we could handle that."

Alex grinned, nodding. "Sounds great. Call me whenever you're free, and I'll come pick you two up. It's not that far, we could go anytime."

Andrew opened the boot of the car, tossing the bags inside. "Yeah, sounds great. Just not Tuesday."

Alex rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah." Then his lip creased slightly with concern. "But, um, I can't do Wednesdays either. Football - you, know, soccer - training." He glanced at his watch. "Tomorrow? Or Thursday?"

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "yay!!" the little girl cheered. As she jumped around in excitement, Vee moved to opened the door of the car for her sister to go in. "We can't tomorrow," Vee told them. She guided her little sister into the backseat and buckled her in. "My grandparents are visiting and are leaving Tuesday. I guess we'll have to wait until Thursday." Vee would have liked it to be sooner, since they only had little time left. But people were busy. "So is Thursday okay?" She asked and looked up to alex, pushing her black hair out of the way and smiled.

message 148: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments "Yeah," Alex glanced at Andy. "Thursday sounds great."

Andrew rolled his eyes. "Apart from the fact that Aunt Mel and Tally are coming over, that sounds great."

Alex sighed. He had forgotten that his mother's little sister, Melody, a slightly whacky young artist was flying over from Australia for the last few weeks of summer, while her husband, a serious businessman, travelled to Germany. Alex liked Mel - she was nearly twenty years younger than his mother, and not all that much older than Alex, so they got along fairly well. She was a bit weird, with mousy brown hair streaked with purple and red, ripped jeans and combat boots, but Alex couldn't imagine a better aunt. Her four year old daughter, Tally, however, was a different story.

"We'll bring Tally with us," Alex sighed, glancing at Vee. "My cousin. She's four. Is that okay?"

ƒαуzα...{Iɱ Ꮗҽíཞᗪ} (lovefayfay) | 258 comments "Yah its okay, i I've little kids." She assured them, which she did. "In sure Katy would love her too," she spoke before getting in the car.

((Sorry its shot. I've been busy. So time skip to thursday?))

message 150: by H :) (new)

H :) | 158 comments ((Yeah, sure))

Alex sighed, closing his eyes and running a tired hand through his hair as Tally ran back into the house for the forth time that morning. First, she had forgotten her had, then she decided that she wanted to swap her orange juice for lemonade before they headed for the zoo. Then her mother yelled that she had somehow left her shoes in the doorway and run off without putting them on. Alex didn't know - nor did he particularly care - where she had gone this time.

Alex checked his watch. They were late. He should probably call Vee to explain.

He flicked through his phone until he found her contact, before pressing the call icon and holding the phone up to his face.

The line clicked, picking up, just as Tally, his four year old cousin, ran back out of the house, this time clutching a large, blue kangaroo toy.

"Hey, Vee," Alex said, helping his cousin into the car. "Listen, we might be a little late. Sorry. We've had some..." He glared, somewhat fondly, at Tally. "...delays."
