Vee knew the feeling of not liking someone because of their attitude. She's been through it elementary when she was facing the mean the girls that would always pull on her pigtails and say nasty things about her. They looked so sweet. But inside that were truly devils. After giving Alex a squeeze back she says. "Well then c'mon!" With excitement Vee let go of his hand and picked up his little bothers surf board before racing to the beach. "You owe me a piggy back ride if i beat you!" She calls out laughing.

After giving Alex a squeeze back she says. "Well then c'mon!" With excitement Vee let go of his hand and picked up his little bothers surf board before racing to the beach. "You owe me a piggy back ride if i beat you!" She calls out laughing.

And then she was gone.
"Hey!" Alex gasped, grabbing his board and scrambling to his feet. "That's not fair." He sprinted to catch up, reaching her in just a few paces, due to the height difference between them. After a moment, though, he held back a little. Just a little. Enough for her to stay just ahead of him. And, selfish though it was, Alex knew it was because he wanted her to win. He could give her this, at least, and besides, he would be happy to give her a piggyback ride.

Reaching the shallow part of the water, Vee splashes through it and then turns around to find out that she had beaten Alex. She had actually beaten him to the water. "I won!" She says jumping up and down in excitement. "you owe me a piggyback ride" she tried to do a small victory dance but fails thanks to the surfboard that she was still holding on to tightly.
The water moved up and pass her feet as her toes dig into the soft moist sand. She really did enjoy the water. But do much as to surf on it, at less yet. Sticking out her tongue, Vee said "you had no chance against me". She most certainly knew that was a lie.

Think of Danny... he chided himself, smiling at Vee and poking his tongue out playfully at her. "So, prencesa. That piggyback. Before we surf, or after?" He laughed, kicking the water lightly so it sprayed in a perfect arch up towards her.
His grin froze as he kicked out with just a little more force than he had intended, and the water rose with a huge splash, soaking Vee from face down. After a moment's awkward pause, he burst out laughing. "Sorry," he grinned, ducking away.

Vee thought to herself of when she should have her piggy back. Now didn't seem so bad but that would mean that they would have to get out of the water. But then the idea that he gives her a piggyback ride back to their spot seemed even better. But just as she was to answer she saw the splash of water rise up for a moment before it hit her and left her soaked. "ah!" she said in surprised tone.
She looked at him to see him moving away away with his laugh trailing after him. "Oh you are so died" she says even though he said sorry. She gripped on the surfboard and went after him, trying to kick water at him.

"I'm sorry," he gasped, trying to stop laughing. "I didn't..." He glanced at the board in her hands as she advanced towards him.
Alex turned around to attempt to run again, but he misjudged his step, not fully aware of how shallow the water was. His foot landed on the tip of a sandbank and he stumbled as he lost his footing. As he tumbled towards the ground, he somehow managed to sweep Vee's legs out from underneath her. He landed hard on the wet sand, with her crashing down on top of him.
As he grinned up at her face, half furious and half...something else, he wasn't sure whether to thank or curse his clumsiness.

"Sure you are" she says still moving after him, determined to get him wet just like he got her. But she wasn't holding it as a grudge. She just enjoyed their little game.
With her grip still on the surfboard she carried with her vee still chased him. She caught him look back at her and moved her foot to kick the water at him. Thinking that this one was going to get him, Vee's splash passed right over him as he tumbled, pulling her down with him.
She crashes down with laughter, the surfboard falling on the wet sand next to them. She was held by his arms as she laid on him, the water washing up against their tangled legs. The
warmth of their skin touching helped with forgetting the cold water just a moment ago. She looked down into his gray eyes that lot up with the suns light. For a moment she was lost in thoughts. She felt.. Different. Something weird but warm.

Alex didn't want to move, want to speak, or even want to think. He just wanted to freeze this moment forever, live in it for a million years, just him, Vee, the sun and the mixture of sea and sand that was running across the ground around them.
"Sorry," Alex breathed, hardly daring to move. "I..."

"Er..." She couldn't get her mind to function properly. She could stop thinking about the electrical feeling she was getting. The warmth of their bodied together. The butterflies in her stomach. "It's.. Ok" she says.
She finally noticed that they stayed like this for a little bit to long. She finally removes her hands that were placed on his chest to hold herself up and gets herself of of him. "It's not your fault... It's mine"
Now that she was off of him she couldn't dare to look into his eyes. She just turned around and picked up the surf board. how did this happen? What just happened? Vee thought to herself.
"So... You still want to teach me?" She asks a bit awkwardly.

Alex could feel the heat rising into his cheeks as he stood up and dusted the sand off his shorts. He could still feel the warm, almost burning, handprints on his chest, from where her hands had touched his bare skin. Alex ran a hand through his hair, trying not to think about that.
Whywhywhywhywhy was he such a klutz? He didn't want to ruin their afternoon, ruin one of their last days of the summer together. Alex cursed himself silently while he recollected his board and held it in front of him, keeping a respectful distance between himself and Vee.
He broke into a slightly sheepish, awkward grin. "Of course I still want to teach you. I mean, if you...still want to learn." He ran a hand through his hair.I'm sorry. Look...let's..." he cleared his throat. "Forget about that?" His voice rose an octave as he made his suggestion, and Alex struggled to swallow his nerves.

"We should probably.. Go?" She points at the waves that came crashing to their feet. "Andrew may want his surfboard so we should probably..you know start" she suggest. oh god, Vee thought to herself. what happened?
Vee slowly backed away towards the water.
((My post will be slow. But maybe we'll be on the same time since where near each other. I'm on a vacation and I'm in Yemen ))

"Vee..." He reached out to her, his hand freezing inches away from her wrist. Before, a gesture like this would have been nothing. But now... He couldn't bring himself to touch her, to feel those sparks fly between them once more. "I'm sorry. Really. I mean, if you want to go back, that's fine." His grey eyes drooped slightly, changing from stormy to pathetic hazy clouds in an instant. "But I'd be happy to teach you. IF you still want."

Vee actually did want to learn to surf. But dyer what happened, should she? She wouldn't have to do something with him as have things very very awkward. Vee shook the thought from her head. Their just friends. It's nothing. "I'm still ok with doing it" she tells him. I

He smiled brightly, fully aware that their relationship was not totally fixed. She still wouldn't quite meet his eyes, and he still couldn't quite bring himself to look at her. For fear that her beauty would cause him to slip up, cause him to treat as something more than a friend and shatter the delicate bond they shared. But he hasn't ruined everything. Not yet, at least.

Alex's own was already fastened to his ankle, the board trailing lazily in his wake. He surveyed the sea with faint disappointment. "It was nice when Andy and I were out earlier. Big waves - they're good fun. It's quieter now..." Alex shrugged. "Oh well. Small ones are good for learning, I guess. First we have to swim out a little, so we can catch the wave."

Vee wouldn't be able to tell the difference for anything. Leave her in water with a board and she'll probably die. "So do you just walk out their..? Or like swim?" At the moment, Vee felt stupid.

He smiled. He was a strong swimmer - had been in nationals competitions when he was younger, but his passion and dedication had somewhat died out. Now he just surfed, more for the pleasure than anything else.

"When is it I get on the board?" She asks him. She didn't know what to do and was scare if she did something wrong, even after he told her what to do. "And how do you even balance yourself?" She knew if she started to ask him questions, she'll probably never stop.

Alex leant on his own board, tipping one edge towards himself so he could clamber onto it and lie flat on his stomach on top, smiling at Vee below him. "Just like that. And then you paddle..." He smiled, gently paddling across the waves. "Like this."
((Lol, just so you know, don't try this at home or anything.... LMAO I know nothing about surfing other than what my dad has mentioned in passing. So yeah. Sorry about that...))

((Lol ^•^ the way u write makes me think ur good. But dot worry. It's not like I can surf with clothing's since I can't show my skin. And sorry their short. I'm taking turns with the phone with my mom and she hates waiting))

He paused in his paddling to grab the cord of her board once more and pulling her closer to him, so their boards nearly touched. "Here," he laughed. "Just want to make sure you don't drift. I rather you didn't float out to sea and get stranded. That would be unfortunate."
((That's fine, lol. My posts aren't going to be very long either, because I'm falling asleep...))

Vee bit her lip for just a second just as he held on her cord and pulled her closer. But the worry left her mind and she focused on surfing.
"So when am I supposed stand? Or do whatever it is you guys do?" She question Vee was scared at that thought. How was it possible that someone could Stan on a wooden board that was on water and stay balanced as you tried not to make the wrong move or you'll go crashing into the water.
"Do I have to stand?" She asks him with and unease look.

He smiled. "But don't worry. I won't make you do anything that you don't want to do."
He nodded at the wave on the horizon. "We'll give that one a go. It's not too big. You can bodyboard it if you want to, just ride it back out to shore to begin with. That's always fun. When I say go, kick your feet. But hold on to the board. Don't let go of that."

Vee stayed on the board flat on her stomach and froze. She really didn't know what to do. But she recalls watching Andrew and Alex doing it a couple of times while she was on the beach. maybe I should try this.... No I'm going to fall... I'll just do what they'll do... Wait.. What did they do? Just as she was thinking to herself, Vee had actually been moving. She had moved closer to the wave and managed to get on her knees. She pushed herself up to stand. But just as she stood she lost balance and went crashing into the water.

He tread the water lightly, staying upright, with his arms still wrapped around Vee. For a moment, they just floated there. Alex could feel her heart beating, a little faster than usual, and willed her heart rate to steady. He hoped that it hadn't gone horrible wrong, that he hadn't terrified her too much. After a moment, he exhaled the breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding and laughed nervously. "You alright?"
His arms tightened around her, though his touch was still gentle, as he lifted her out of the water and onto the edge of his board, so she was sitting on the edge, facing him.
"I'm sorry," he breathed. "I..."
His grey eyes searched her face, concerned.

The cold water hit Vee as she sunk down. She kept her eyes shut but she already swallowed some water at the shock of falling. She couldn't think straight. She couldn't tell her legs to keep upwards and go to air. But with out a second to waste Vee felt something grab her. She squirmed first at the thought of a shark or some big fish, but just as she opened her eyes she saw Alex.
Vee gasped for air once she was up. She had her arms around his neck where she knew she was safe. She blinked a few times until she saw Alex before her without the blur from the water.
Pulling herself on the board with his help, she said "I'm never surfing ever again" she ignored the warm feeling she had gotten from his touch, to concerned about the fact she almost - well a forty five percent really - died.

He smiled, smiling up at her as the sun caught her dark hair and glistened across her wet skin. She was beautiful. Truly beautiful. And he had just almost killed her.
Alex swallowed, grabbing her board by the front and steering it towards the shore. His own board was attached to his ankle, hitching slightly and rubbing the skin around it raw, but he barely noticed.
"I'll take you back to shore," he smiled. "Don't worry about it. The first time I went surfing..." he smiled. "Well, I was a natural. The second time, I fell off, his my head on a rock, got knocked out and had to get CPR from an old life guard with bad breath." He shuddered. "It wasn't nice." As he pulled her back towards the beach, he raised a hand and parted his blonde hair, pulling it back to reveal the thin white scar. "That's where the rock attacked me," he informed her, solemnly.

"We'll if it wasn't for the life guard you probably would have died " she points out with a smile that had in her laugh. Now she was better. Once on the sand Vee got to look at his scare. "Did the stitch it up or just let it heal up?" She asked, now actually feeling bad for him.

"Look on the bright side..." Vee tried to think of what to say to make this all good. Only one thing came to her mind. "Your alive now with probably much better kisses"
"At less I know now that your not a cry baby" she gently punches him in the chest. "Surviving a broken bone is pretty brave"

Much better kisses... Alex purposefully avoided looking at Vee's slightly parted lips, tried not to think of how it would feel to kiss her... No, Alex. That is one kiss you can't have.
Alex chewed his lip, averting his eyes. They were nearing the shore, and he could feel the sand beneath his feet now, cool and grainy.
"Yeah, my first kiss was a bit of a downer. To be fair, my second one wasn't that much better. My sister's best friend, Lucy, tried to kiss me in a closet once. I was about eight. She was ten or so. It was weird. We were playing hide and seek and Rachel was the 'seeker,' and Lucy and I decided to hide in my closet. It was really dark, and suddenly she kissed me. I sort of jumped backwards and his my head on a shelf, which tipped over and dumped piles of clothes all over us. Anyway. I'm hoping things will go better in the future..." He laughed. "What about you, Miss Sky? I mean, no one's perfect, right?" Wrong... Alex pushed the thought out of his mind. "You must have some embarrassing stories, too."

She couldn't bring herself to tell Alex what happened with her crush. He would just, being the type of friend he is. It wast that she didn't trust him, because she did. She just couldn't bare to feel embarrassed.

He held up his fingers in the scout sign, before smiling and ducking slightly so he could look into her eyes, his grey eyes glinting in the sun. "Don't be shy, princesa."

She could remember the day she embarrassed herself. It was just like it was yesterday. "It was in second grade. I had my two front teeth out at that moment. God did I look horrible. But James Jonson was the cures boy in the class and I had this huge crush on him. All the girls did. But one day James and his friend Alexander were talking about their favorite animals and I over heard say he like monkeys so I...." She trialled off and buried her face of embarrassment. After while she picked her head and looked at him. "Do I went up to him and told him that I loved monkeys, which I did at that time, and I started to jump around like one and make noises."

He shook his head."Sorry. That's...actually..." He smiled, reaching over to flick her nose, playfully. "Kinda adorable. Aww, I can see little second grade Vee..."

Vee looked up to him and saw him smile. She knew he was trying not to laugh. "Smiling counts" she tells him and pushes him off the board.

He was a surfer, and a former national swimmer. He could hold his breath. And it would be fun to play a little trick on Vee... He could stay down here for long enough.

"Alex" she said after half a minute. "Don't be playing games with me" she warns him worriedly.
Vee knew she could hold her breath this long so she really started to worry. No. No. No. He can't die... "Alex!" Vee calls out. She didn't know what to do since she wasn't a good swimmer. Tears sprang to her eyes just at the thought of him dying.

Alex kicked off from the ocean floor, powerful strokes sending him towards the surface, gasping. He broke out into the open, flipping his head back and taking a massive breath, before shaking his head like a rabid dog to clear it. Water droplets flew from his hair as he grinned, turning to face Vee, still slightly out of breath.
"Gotcha there," he teased, grinning. "You pushed me. I had to get revenge."
