You've been on a roll this month!! I'm glad you're enjoying your picks...sorry the Sookie book didn't live up to your expectations. I only saw a couple parts of the True Blood series and didn't like it at all. I think that people who see the TV series first are disappointed in the books - the books are a bit tamer, less graphic and less graphically sexy. But the story telling is way superior in my opinion... Sorry, mini-rant!! Hope you have continued Happy Reading!!

Fran | 12283 comments another new author and book Beautiful Bastard authors Christina Lauren
My favorite quote from the book:
"If only he would keep his mouth shut, he'd be perfect. A piece of duct tape would do the trick. I had some in my desk that I'd occasionally pull out and fondle, hoping someday could put it to good use."
Some people loved this book… others hated it For me...It was a quick read and funny

Hi Sunshine!

I needed something light and fun and Beautiful Bastard Beautiful Bastard (Beautiful Bastard, #1) by Christina Lauren was on sale on Amazon for .99. I bought it and read it, my 3rd pick....and I agree with you....it was fun and sexy! Thanks so much for the great pick :)

Breann | 398 comments Hi Sass! I've finally finished two. I read The Trouble With Elves and Unwrapping Hank. Both perfect, sweet holiday romances. Thanks for the picks :)

Still hoping to get to a couple more.

Amanda (amandasorrasson) | 156 comments Hi Logan,

I just finished Cover Me Really glad you recommended this book. I would give it 4 stars. I'm definitely going to continue with the series. Also read Club Shadowlands I did like this book enough to add the next in the series to my to-read list, I'm curious to see how the series continues. I would give it 3 stars. Also read Try Me nice intro to a series. Would have liked it to be a bit longer but would definitely continue with the series. :)

Poongothai (poongsa) | 298 comments Hi Zara, I finished How to Dance with a Duke (Ugly Ducklings, #1) by Manda Collins . It was a good historical romance with witty dialogue and a small amount of mystery thrown into it.I gave it 3 stars

message 209: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments hi Beppy, I finished up Breathe You In last night - i'm conflicted - i'm not really a fan of insta-love and Roman was an ass and a half, total douchebag in places and yet I was sucked in - I gave it 3 stars overall

Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Nancy H- I just finished Screwdrivered (Cocktail, #3) by Alice Clayton Screwdrived and The Long Way Home (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #10) by Louise Penny The Long Way Home. I was disappointed in Screwdrivered (I really liked previous books in the series better) but am glad to have read it for a challenge. I really liked the Long Way Home--it wasn't my favorite of the series, but it was a solid mystery of the traditional sort. Thanks for the picks! I'm reading the Peach Keeper now and liking it.

message 213: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5091 comments Hi Daffodil...

Finally got to one of my PIFM books! I finished Cry No More by Linda Howard . I wasn't so sure I was going to like it one or two chapters in - I thought it might just be too heartbreaking. But I was wrong and I enjoyed it a great deal. It was a good reminder that I like Linda Howard and need to make an effort to read more of her backlist - so thanks for the rec!

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1) by C.S. Lewis What I can say is that this book is the same as the movie. You watched the movie, you don't need to read this book.

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Hi Amanda!

I finished my first pick, Mistress Christmas a couple of days ago, and I really enjoyed it - I didn't realize going in that it was loosely tied to the McKay books, but now I need to read the next book in the series!

I plan on reading at least one more book, and hopefully more than that...thanks again for the picks!

I finished Dream Stalker (The Tracker #1) by Jenna Kernan . I might look up the next book in the series at some point, thanks for the rec.

message 218: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Beppy - I finished up Stories Beneath Our Skin over the weekend - overall I liked it, I loved how the author actually gave tattoo artists a story, rather than just being neglected characters for the most part - my only complaint was the ending came too quick/I wanted me between the ending and the epilogue

Read my 3rd pick Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh -I liked it...actually it is a little more than just liked. I know this is the first book in the series so it has a lot of the "technical" stuff but it still had me interested enough to not want to put it down sometimes.
A solid 3.5 stars for me....plus it makes me want to read the rest which I will in the new year for the author challenge!! So thanks for the push to start this series and for the other great picks!!

On to #4...maybe! :D

I'm glad you read those. I have them on my TBR also, and was going to ask for "Screwdrivered" for Christmas - I may just read some other ones first. I am also trying to catch up in the Louise Penny series, so I have several to go before I get to that one. I have it, though, so I will get to it eventually.
Let me know what you think of 'The Peach Keeper'. I really liked it, as I did her others.

hi, grace.
i just wanted to let you know that i read "lumberjack in love" and i thought it was cute. i'm still planning on reading "zack". i also hope to read "before jamaica lane" and "shadowlands", but time is running out on this month and the list of books that i need to finish before the end of it doesn't seem to be getting any smaller.

I'm glad you liked it, Elke! I love the series, and I'm actually going to start a reread of it in January rather than just picking up with the last few that I haven't read yet. There's so much detail that even though I don't do a lot of rereading, I think I'll benefit from it with this series!

Good luck getting to #4...I'll be lucky to get more than 2 read this month!

Hi Karen,

Glad you liked it. I have found that a few of Lorelei's series gets a mention of the McKay's or something McKay related. The next book is good as well. I've been waiting for more from the West Family but according to Lorelei's facebook page it has been put to the bottom of the pile which is unfortunate but the Mastered series that she has been writing lately is really good too, as long as I have something from Lorelei James to read I'm happy :)

a bit - I've liked her other stuff, but this one just didn't quite work - I had to suspend disbelief a tad too much (a 33 year old gov of NY who she didn't recognize, and then it has insta-lust)

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 629 comments Hi Laurla, I loved some of your picks this month. I had so mush fun with some of the books :D.
The books Mai Tai'd Up (Cocktail, #4) by Alice Clayton and Sugar Rush (Friend-Zoned, #3) by Belle Aurora was the most interesting to me, I love good humor novels.
I really liked Mistress Christmas (Wild West Boys, #1) by Lorelei James this book, but I think in this short book, the action was going to fast.
The Weird Girls (Weird Girls, #0.5) by Cecy Robson and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1) by C.S. Lewis was really good to.
And some other book you recommended to me like Reckless (Renegades, #1) by Skye Jordan , Fatal Affair (Fatal, #1) by Marie Force and Wild Heat (Hot Shots Men of Fire #1) by Bella Andre maybe I will read next month.
And the only book I didn't like was Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris .

These are the books I managed to read so far:

In Bed with the Devil - A lovely read. It started off a bit slow for my liking but definitely picked up later on. I really like the Jack character and can't wait to read his story. :)

Ruby Red Booty Shorts & A Louisville Slugger - I only added this to my TBR for a challenge. LOL. It was so-so. :)

The Dating Game - A sweet little story. I knew I would like it.

I have Wicked Burn and Firelight next. Hopefully I can finish both this month. Will keep you updated.

Oh ya! Finding (and now loving) audio books has helped a lot! My 1-hour commute flies by now! Also, depending on what I'm working on, I can listen at work, too...so as much as 8 hours a day of listening time can help knock out quite a few books!

message 247: by Madison ✨ (new)

Madison ✨ | 90 comments Hey Nandar!

So I got to read 5 of the books you recommended this month :)

I loved Lick and Twist Me! Those were both great recommendations and I can’t wait to pick up the next book in both series. Lick was so fun and Twist Me was disturbing (in a good way!)—both had me reading them from cover to cover.

I picked up The Madness Of Lord Ian MacKenzie first because I was so sure that it was going to be a new favorite. I found it good, but not amazing and I definitely thought the story was going to be more Highlander than it was. Still it was an enjoyable read, thanks for the push to finally pick it up.

Archer's Voice was also really good, I totally see where all the hype on this book was from. Lastly I read Beauty Touched the Beast which, while short, still packed a whole heck of a lot of steam into it!

Thanks again for all of your recommendations, I had a ton of fun reading this month!
