Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments The theme for the 2020 Annual Challenge is" YTLO's Twisted Trivia".

There is preparation for the annual challenge and this step needs to be performed first before starting the challenge. Your answers to the trivia questions will determine what task you will do.

There are "Yay" answers which means you answered correctly, and "Nay" answers which means you either didn't know the answer or answered incorrectly. The other "Nay" scenario would be if you opted not to answer the questions at all. I hope that you don't go for that option. Think of them as a fun game with which to start the challenge. I know there are a lot of questions (I had to answer them myself and then write two tasks for each of them). You have lots of time, so don't rush.

Part of the challenge requirements is that you start your own personal tracking thread in this folder. So go ahead and do that now, then answer the questions. Title it with your WoF name and a unique descriptor. I would suggest that rather than copying everything into your personal threads, that you just link to the main challenge threads. It will save space in your personal thread.

Put on your thinking caps, sharpen your pencils, and find out if you know a lot about nothing.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Janice, should we post our answers in our threads, or only an overview of which question we answered correctly and incorrectly?

Personally, I would do the overview of how you answered the question and leave off the questions. You could link to the card for easy reference, or wait until I post the tasks and link to that one.

Example:

Card 1:

Geography - Yay
History - Nay
Etc.

But, it's really up to you to organize it the way it best suits your needs.

I think I will also print out the questions so I can have a good think about them. This is going to be so much fun!

Kristie | 19137 comments Oh yay! Gophering today!

Edit... oh crap. lol I was too excited that the challenge was posted and didn't look at the beginning before commenting. No gophering today. Just a pop quiz. haha Oh man.... I think I'm going to have a LOT of nays. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments LOL! Not to worry, Kristie. I have a lot of nays as well.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Awesome, Janice. I really am not good at trivia.

Sarah | 18549 comments This is awesome! I suspect I'm going to have a lot of Nay answers. But I might surprise myself. I did not expect to be filling my evening with this. Very excited!

message 48: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19137 comments I feel like I should know so many of these, but I just am not good at trivia. My mind just goes blank. So I end up with answers like - What is the name of the first animal cloned from an adult somatic cell? Oh yeah... that was the *insert animal here*. I remember that. What was its name..???? And then my brain starts to smoke. lol

As usual, you put a ton of work into this challenge and it is awesome. I complain only of my inability to recall information. I can't wait to see what all the yay or nay tasks are!

message 49: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Damn! Those questions are hard! I'm usually doing okay with these kinds of things but lots of Nays for me too! Here's to hoping that to comfort us, the nays will have the easy tasks ;-) I asked Rob who's a magnet for trivia stuff and he found it difficult too. He's a bit obsessed with the questions he knows he should know the answer to now ;-)

I find the Europe-centered ones much easier than the American-centered ones. Which makes sense.

I had an evening of fun, that's for sure! I'll stew some more on the questions that bother me during this week.

Sandra (sanlema) | 11260 comments I did the first 10 cards and my performance was horrible, Kristie. 13/60. So you are not alone!
