I tried to get an edition that would be more global. I was disappointed when I saw how geared it was to the US."

I think it would be very hard not to. And also, there wasn't *that* much US centric stuff, it just seems that way to me as I am staring at those questions blankly. Just will have to do more reading ;)

But sounds like we all are, so yay!

And we don't want the Aussie version. Every sports question is usually about cricket, and none of us need that in our lives :P

Marie, I took a peek at your personal created thread and it looks to me as if you are on the right track.

Now we wait until Janice tells us what to do next.☻

Hi Marie - The spoilers are the answers to the questions. It is a test. You were supposed to copy all of the questions. Answer them, then look at the spoilers to see if you answered correctly. You are supposed to keep track of your Yay and Nay answers for the next part of the challenge.

The spoiler is the answer. After you read the question and answer it (you don't need to write that down anywhere), then peek at the spoiler to see if you were right. If so, Yay! If not, then Nay!

You don't need to copy the questions over. You just need to keep track of your Yah's and Nay's. You can come back to this thread to review the questions.

When I post the tasks, it will be identical to these except there will be a Yay task and a Nay task after each question and its spoiler.

message 114: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I checked all my answers and did a quick count. I got 42.2% yay's (76 correct). I surprised myself a few times!

My best topic was geography, with 19/30 correct. That's usually one of my better topics in the real game too. I think all my travelling pays off! The worst were sports and arts/literature, both 10/30. The others were 12 or 13.

Margo | 11628 comments Well living in Ireland was no help for anything! If we are getting nasty reads for the "nay" answers I'm in trouble 😨 I will have to join Jannenne for a truckload of aduld beverages! Maybe we could keep each other company over Skyp LOL

Jayme | 4519 comments I did a little math and ended up with 48% correct 87/180 Yays.
I think that will be a good balance for the challenge?!?
Best category was history at 70% - I'm glad that was my highest category since I am a retired history teacher - I didn't want to give back my degree :)

Kristie | 19138 comments Jayme wrote: "Best category was history at 70% - I'm glad that was my highest category since I am a retired history teacher - I didn't want to give back my degree :)"

lol, Jayme! I think that would be a little extreme. Made me giggle though.

Imagine if we all had to answer random trivia in our field in order to keep our degrees/jobs every year? That would be weird and super stressful, but we'd all know a lot of interesting stuff.

message 119: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11260 comments I'm happy we will know the tasks this weekend, but I am trying not to get distracted. In previous years I was so far from getting another badge in the current challenge that I just started gophering for the next and forget everything. This year I am actually close to get the second badge for the MM Challenge, so I promised myself that I will read the tasks to kill my curiosity, but I will not start gophering. We'll see if I can fulfill the promise...

One of my colleagues at work, who is a good friend, has this as her stress dream. She dreams she has to go back to high school and sit the HSC (the high school cert in her state), and fails, and they take away her degree, and her experience, and her job, as she is deemed a fraud.

Kristie | 19138 comments I need to spend some time with it, but that probably won’t happen until the weekend for me. It’s our Thanksgiving tomorrow, so I’m cooking and cleaning today. That works for me though because I won’t have to wait long, if at all, after I’m done before I can gopher. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all in US!

I have 10 cards left to go. I think I'm getting less than 50% on most. My highest are probably science and literature. Makes sense as I was a scientist who read a lot!

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments I've started asking questions I think I know the answer to but can't remember to Lexx, who hates trivia, who just sits there and glares at me, which seems to make me remember.

I think I am enjoying this process much more than him lol

Happy thanksgiving all who are celebrating!!

I already lost a whole evening of reading to answering the questions, so I see your point ;-) Part of me is hoping the challenge will be posted when I wake up on Saturday so that I can gopher all weekend. Another part of me thinks it might be better posted on Sunday evening so that my reading won't suffer. But then if it's Sunday evening I'd have to wait until Friday before I can start, which is a very long time... Sunday morning Dutch time would be perfect!

I'd prefer Saturday evening Finnish time. That way I could have a glass (or two) of wine while gophering, it helps immensely.

message 145: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments Yikes! I'm thinking Saturday morning my time (MST). Do you think that's too early to start drinking? I might need a bottle of wine. I just had a flash back to a dream I had last night. I was drinking Jim Beam Black Cherry Bourbon Whiskey. Hmm... wonder why I was dreaming that. There is a bottle in my fridge staying nice and cold. I could sip while I post?
