Oh, my gosh, yes--my old 1979 Fanny Farmer cookbook is FABULOUS! It is the one edition that, back before the internet, taught me how to make so many things from mayonnaise to pie crusts to jam to soup stocks with no bouillon cubes and more (I know many good cooks, including my mother, use bouillon cubes, but I like to make things from scratch)!!!! I even bought 2 replacements online of this edition when the glue started wearing out on the one my mother gave me. The older ones expect you to know what you're doing and the newer ones use more shortcuts, so take your pick :)

Charlotte | 1701 comments This is tough! I am Floridian born and bred for many generations so I have a ton to suggest for there, hard to pick just one...

Since others have done the main ones, I'm going to do one that not many people may know about:

Florida - Fabric - My family were in FL before it was even a state and all owned cotton farms. I have so many family stories that come from that. They weren't rich but the history is deep of cotton farms in the south, so I went with what cotton creates... Fabric, to be different.

Washington - Cryptid - Because Bigfoot

Oregon - Running - Prefontaine and Nike

Georgia - Fruit - Georgia Peach

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments Alright, I only have a few states left with nothing, and I'll add those in a separate post later, but I think I've got some good ones!
I tried to choose tags that were open enough to have some interpretation, lending itself to be more open for many readers with different tastes. Also, of course there is my personal taste in there as well. Much of it felt like a word association game to me.

Sorry, I don't know how to search for shelves. I still haven't fully made the transition from Shelfari!

AK: Mountain Climbing (or Mountaineering, if that shelf has more books)
