Jeniece Goellner | 10 comments I'm getting ready to try and read The Count of Monte Cristo The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas . It's one of those classics that I want to try and read at least once in my life. If I'm going to commit my time to this, I'm hoping to fit it into one of my open prompts. From my cursory knowledge of the story, I think it should fit this prompt for at least themes of greed and wrath. Thoughts or confirmation of my assessment from anyone who has read the book? Thanks.

Grainne Coughlan | 17 comments @Jenniece I read The Conte of Monte Christo and it definitely fits this prompt. There’s wrath, envy, gluttony for sure, and I am sure, a few others besides haha

Honestly there's a strong chance you could get all 7 in Monte Cristo. I love that book; I think it reads much quicker paced than many other classics.

Shazana I read The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice for this prompt. The book is just one big lust fest. Made me go a little crazy.

Arunimaa | 46 comments I read Wayward Son for this. It's checks the sloth checkbox. Simon, the MC in the beginning of the book has not left his couch in weeks. No matter what anyone does, they can't make him get up. That doesn't go on for the rest of the book though. It's just at the beginning but it forms the basis of the story where his friends come up with a plan to get him out of his shell. I feel it also along the way checks the "wrath" checkbox.

Anshita (_book_freak) | 273 comments I'll be reading Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose. I wouldn't have predicted this was a play, and since I've read any plays this year. This fits perfectly with my plans. As the title suggest, this book exhibits anger (wrath).

message 158: by Delia (new)

Delia (dc1984) I feel like nearly every book could fit this prompt in one way or another. I went with The Amber Spyglass.

message 159: by Virginia (new)

Virginia (dogdaysinaz) | 52 comments I read The Only Good Indians for this prompt. It is a revenge horror story; at least wrath and greed are represented.
The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones

Lani Thompson | 8 comments Has anyone read The Woman Before Wallis- Prince Edward, the Parisian Courtesan, and the perfect murder? I'm thinking there's lust involved?

message 161: by Lilith (new)

Lilith (lilithp) | 1079 comments Passing by Nella Larsen. Such a richly textured book, so much emotion, heartbreak and beauty. Eminently relatable if you're biracial. I am reading all of her fiction, and glad Nella is experiencing the renaissance she deserves! Loved this!
Fits the 7 deadly sins prompt (envy, possibly greed)

Cornerofmadness | 813 comments Being a mystery reader predominately this was easy. I chose A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis (wrath, lust) and I enjoyed it

message 163: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Evans (bamalibrarylady) I read "The Wrath & The Dawn" by Renee Ahdieh.

message 164: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (zumbajess) | 181 comments I used “Animal Farm” for this prompt ( I also use this for my banned book).
