SOLVED. Prince of Underworld/Girl he has to get to come down with him [s]

I saw this book a Barnes and Noble about half a year (or maybe slightly longer--no more than a year) ago. It was about a Prince (?) of the underworld who has to convince this girl to come with him into the underworld. I just read the blurb on the back of the book, so that's all I have, but I got the sense he had to trick her for the good of his kingdom, I guess, and he was already feeling guilty about it. It was a decent-sized book labeled as YA Sci Fi/Fantasy.
