Thanks Maddy! I love the My Favorite Murder podcast, so I'll probably be reading several of these books this year.
I often read Ask A Manager by Alison Green. It's a blog about workplace dilemmas, not books, but every weekend she offers a book recommendation: a number of them are on my TBR pile, which is convenient! There's a good mix of fiction and non-fiction, completely unrelated to work and business!https://www.askamanager.org/2018/12/a...

I just added a bunch of books to the listopia that LeVar burton recommends through his audible sponsorship on his podcast LeVar Burton Reads:Get in Trouble by Kelly Link
Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
The Prey of Gods by Nicky Drayden
An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon
Devil in a Blue Dress by Walter Mosley
The King Is Always Above the People by Daniel Alarcon
Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward
How Long 'til Black Future Month? by N.K. Jesimin

The Dispossessed by Ursula K. LeGuin
Cosmos by Carl Sagan

This is now my favourite blog too! I have a few of the books on here on my TBR pile. That works for me :-)
If you're looking for book recommendations, you can check out my blog, The Unapologetic Bookworm. I read books of all genres, fiction and nonfiction, and comic books and manga. My site is relatively new, but I usually post book reviews (and other new content) a few times a week.https://theunapologeticbookworm.com/
I'll probably read something recommended by Emma Watson, possibly The Power. Her book club has read some of my favorites:
Book Riot, From the Front Porch and What Should I Read Next have caused me to buy so many books. I will probably read The Secret History, The Dreamers, or Family of Origin to fill this one.
Ooohhh, I might read
, recommended on the Reading Women podcast. I'm going to try to read more non-fiction in 2020.Either that or a recommendation from Modern Mrs Darcy.
My personal TBR has grown immensely from reading Book Riot, ATY Group, & this group. Too bad it isn't easier to make a note when I add a book to my list.
I can't add a link as I'm on the app. But for those that don't read blogs or listen to podcasts, Reese Witherspoon's book club is on Goodreads under Hello Sunshine.
I tried to go through and comment on the Listopia but not sure it works. Here are some books from sources.Hello Sunshine (Reese Witherspoon's)

This was super helpful, I've used ThriftBooks for years now and somehow didn't realize they had a blog. They had a recent post about the best Stephen King books, and look, I own but haven't read one of them--book for this task chosen.
Katy wrote: "I don't really do blogs, vlogs, podcasts or online book clubs. So, I think I'll just steal a book that's listed here. Would that be cheating? I'm not sure I much care, just curious."The closest thing for me would be something recommended by an author I follow on Twitter, so that'll have to do for this prompt. Technically, Twitter is a "microblogging platform," right?
I listen to a lot of podcasts so I’m going to listen to the first episode of the new year from each and pick from there Literary Disco at:
https://www.literarydisco.com
What should I read next podcast at:

Sword and laser podcast at:

I don't follow book blogs or vlogs or podcasts or online book clubs, so I googled book blogs and found this website:https://www.scribendi.com/advice/best...
The 19 Best Book Blogs to Read in 2019
One of the 19 is:
https://johnpistelli.com/
One of this blog's selections is The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, which will be my selection for this prompt.

What about Goodreads groups you're in? I consider some of my groups here as online book clubs, but it is possible I am using literary licence.

I agree with you. I also think that there was a prompt not too long ago that had us read a book recommended by a fellow book club member.
I just checked, and the only groups I belong to are the popsugar groups, and for whatever reason, I didn't consider them to be book clubs, but that's just MHO. But I figure that a blog that gets me to read Henry James can't be all bad.I don't remember a prompt that had us read a book recommended by a fellow book club member, but I do remember a prompt that had us read a book recommended by a librarian, and people here who are librarians made recommendations.
I'm going to read Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men. It was a feature episode of 99% Invisible, one of my favorite podcasts.
This book club literally just started and, if you like classics, the book list is to die for. I'm fitting as many as I can from them in this entire 2020 challenge. They're an Eastern Orthodox book club so the podcast looks at each book from that perspective. The books themselves run a huge gamut of philosophies/genres.https://store.ancientfaith.com/ancien...
Ellie wrote: "Sarah wrote: "I'm not sure what the difference is between a blog and like, a general website, but I get a ton of my book recommendations from Book Riot. They and a lot of other sites will probably ..."Book Riot also has a bunch of podcasts that give book recommendations. I listen to about 5 of them regularly - and they are TERRIBLE for my TBR.
I saw a couple of people link to lists made from books recommended by My Favorite Murder. I haven't listened to them in a long while and listen mostly to Last Podcast on the Left when taking a break from others. I found a list of books recommended by the guys from Markus' research!https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
I'm a fairly new blogger (long time bookstagramer). You can find me at http://abookwanderer.comSome other book blogs I follow are:
https://bookslifeotheroddities.wordpr...
https://obsessedwithfairytales.wordpr...
https://wordsaboutwords.com
https://theanatomyofabookworm.wordpre...
And my tbr has grown by leaps and bounds thanks to Book Riot as well.

Thanks Ellie! I liked your blog, and I am choosing one of your five star reads. :)
I don't follow any vlogs, blogs, podcasts, etc., so I'm very grateful for the listopia this time around! I just picked something on the list that's been sitting in my bookcase for awhile. I'm going with Norse Mythology.
I subscribe to the Fairyloot box and, although I'm not active in it, they do have an online community, I think I'm gonna go with that as an online book group and read one of the books I've received from it as I've gotten so far behind on those!!!
I think I'm just going to pick something rated highly by certain people on here since that is where I get most of my book ideas from. Plus it is my fave online book club. Any suggestions welcome (no romance).
Katy wrote: "I don't really do blogs, vlogs, podcasts or online book clubs. So, I think I'll just steal a book that's listed here. Would that be cheating? I'm not sure I much care, just curious."no
Jen Campbell has a new recommendations video with so many books. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FffHy...
These look interesting to me
Have them:
Tilly and the Bookwanderers
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
Have been wanting them:
Frankissstein: A Love Story
Lanny
Also:
Lost in Translation: An Illustrated Compendium of Untranslatable Words
Remarkable Creatures
Peter and Alice
Salt on Your Tongue: Women and the Sea
In the past couple of years, basically any book I've added to my Want to Read and various TBR shelves have come from podcasts (All the Books / All the Backlist / Get Booked / Reading Women / The High Low / What Should I Read Next) or GR groups...so my list of options is endless. But of the ones I actually own a copy of, I think Convenience Store Woman is the one which has been mentioned the most and in the most places!
Karin wrote: "What about Goodreads groups you're in? IMO any of the chosen monthly reads would count for this prompt.
The Book Smugglers blog has great recommendations, too, which tend to be more oriented toward fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and YA.
From Rogan Shannon's youtubeHe's queer deaf guy, so he reads lots of queer books, and just about everything else too. He loves books with lots of representation. Videos are in ASL so turn your captions on if you need to, or if you prefer each video has a link to a blog post with the transcript.

Welp, time to read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo since it was hugely popular last year on booktube.
If anyone knows the AskAManager blog, she recommends a book every week. She just posted a master list of her 2019 recommends (and links to her recommends from the past few years)https://www.askamanager.org/2019/12/a...

I LOVED that book!
I LOVED that book!
The RTE Radio One Book Show Podcast recently interviewed BlindBoy BoatClub about his new Book "Boulevard Wren and other stories" so that's my pick
I don't really do blogs, vlogs or podcasts so I looked around listopia a bit and found a few helpful lists:Oprah https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...

Well, I already started the book I planned to read, American Kingpin by Nick Bilton, but I have 95 (and the list is growing) more to choose from, on my Podcast Recommendation shelf. Most of my recommendations are from the What Should I Read Next? podcast. If you don’t want to listen to the podcasts, the website transcription lists the books discussed at the end of each episode. The last several episodes have had a good assortment of options!
So I don't follow blogs or book related podcasts. but I was thinking of reading a book recommended by an author and influencer during a reading festival I was at. they recommended 10 books you must read at it... do you think that counts?

I would count it...
A book recommended by my long-time favorite podcast is
b Franz Kafka. I've never read Kafka before, so I wanted to give it a try.
I just finished reading My Lovely Wife which was recommended by a blog called My Splendid Messy Life. It was a page-turner! Very intriguing and very different from the typical psychological thriller.
What do y'all think of a book recommended by an instagram account? It's not a book-based insta, it's about enneagram, but it is one I'm a fan of. I got the book she recommended for my personality type (1) for Christmas, and I thought it might fit here. I know it's my challenge, but I like seeing what others think.

One of the books that they recommend is this:
The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi by Phil Szostak
I also listen to the ForceCenter podcast, and they recommend a book on Audible on all of the main episodes. I think every book in the new canon (from A New Dawn onward) has been recommended at least once.
