Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments Bea, you did an awesome job! Sounds like a busy schedule. Enjoy the thanksgiving dinner!

Tien, great end sprint with the MM19 books!

I think I should be able to finish my last MM19 book.

Anna, I get 2 dinners. One Saturday night and one on Thanksgiving night. Both are potlucks. Not doing too bad for a single old lady, huh?

Karin I had to combine two days so I hope that's okay. Crazy week, didn't get on here yesterday and didn't remember to note where I left off Wed night before starting to read yesterday.

Finished the Zen book! I have been trying to read that book since June. I am so excited! It actually turned out to be fairly good. Guess there really are books that I need to be in the right frame of mind to read.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 1283 comments I finished "Winter Garden". Continuing on with my second book.

Good job, Jayme!

I didn't get to read at all yesterday nor today... too much to do but hopefully after boys are in bed tonight, I'd get a bit of reading done!

The last day of reading!

I have completed 12 books. I am totally psyched over that.

Tien (tiensblurb) | 9035 comments Mod
WoW, Bea! That's an amazing number of books!!

I didn't manage to read that much yesterday but I did manage to get caught in the story so that's a very good sign :)

I'll let people update their posts in the next day or 2 with their total pages read before I do a total sum for all.

message 66: by LynnB (new)

LynnB | 1774 comments Yay! Eleven read, one partially read, one not begun. Only one to go now on my LOST 2019.

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments Wow Bea, that is a lot of books! Great job!

I read 2342 pages and finished 5 books. I'm still reading the 6th book. I think I did well this read-a-thon!

Lagullande | 484 comments Lagullande wrote: "GOALS:

1. LOST 2019
This one of the few goals that I set at the beginning of the year that I might actually finish. I have one book left:

Independent People 482 pages

2. GR Reading Challenge 2019
I am currently 3 books behind schedule. Let's see if I can improve on that by the end of the A-thon."

I got half way through Independent People, but decided to stop at 49% so I can use it for next season's challenges in other groups

And, because that's quite a dense book, I'm now 4 books behind schedule on the GR Reading Challenge. @Lusie, I might need to borrow a couple more of yours;)

But that's ok. I read 639 pages, which is a huge improvement on how I've been doing the rest of the year.

Thanks for organising the Read-a-thon, Tien.

I don't have any to spare anymore. It says I'm right on track now. I should read more!

Congrats to all who participated and who met goals big and small.

Here are my results:

Books read: 12
Pages read: 2,865

What is more important to me are small goals I achieved.
1) I finished Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind: Informal Talks on Zen Meditation and Practice, which was shelved in 2012 as an owned book and started in September. I was reading it for an old PAS game - Wheel, and it was the last book for Round 3. This read-a-thon gave me the impetus to complete that book, which turned out to be an important book for me personally to read. It also helped me reach a mini-goal of completing old games, although Wheel 4 will probably go into next year.

2) I was a participant in another group, which decided to close this year. The owners of the group allowed those of us still participating to continue with the games. I had one book left to go (The Crossing). I was able to meet the goal of completing my games in that group and to discontinue my membership in line of my goal to par down my groups because of the read-a-thon.

3) I ended with 2 books in progress: one of those is for PnM.

Thank you, Tien, for the read-a-thon. I was able to make good progress on some PnM games as well as achieve more than I thought I would.
