My name is Élodie and I am a new member of this group:) I am 17 and live in Canada. I love reading YA books, especially fantasy and contemporary novels! My list of favorite authors includes Cassandra Clare, Rainbow Rowell and Morgan Matson. I am currently reading Queen of air and darkness and I am planning on reading many more books in the weeks ahead:) I love listening to music while reading since it helps me concentrate.
Last little facts about me, I have 2 dogs that I absolutely adore and I would love to become a psychologist in the futur!

Besides reading, I like to write stories, play video games occasionally, and binge-watch TV shows. I'm also interested in science which is why my dream job is to become a physician.

I'm Dez, I am 26 from Winnipeg, MB, Canada. I love crime, suspense, thrillers, and young adult books. I do not usually stick to just one author, I usually choose a book just based on its blurb. My other hobbies include watching documentaries and reality TV. I watch a lot of Hockey *Go Jets Go* as well. My dream job would be in the marketing/advertising realm. I joined this group as a way to find people to discuss books with and hopefully expand into new genres.
Excited to engage with everyone!

Welcome Dez and izzi!!! Make sure to check out all of out different topics, games, and challenges going on, and contribute some ideas to the competition/challenge week thread if you have any! :)

I am Abiduzzaman from Bangladesh. I am 17. I love Science (mainly human physiology, biophysics, astronomy) a lot.
Sometimes my relationship with Science doesn't work well. Then I have to return to my old love-'literature'. (This is a very confidential info. Please don't share it with Science. She will break up with me. Then I won't be able to be a researcher and win a Nobel Prize).
Some of my favorite books are.
- To kill a mockingbird.
- All Quiet on the Western Front.
- The Old Man and the Sea
- Little Prince.
and more..................
So why am I here? I have recently realized that I have not read a single YA book.I hope you will help me to choose some good stuffs, won't you?
I love playing chess and gazing at night-sky.I feel extremely good when I can help people.
Welcome to the group Abiduzzaman!

Thank you.
This is indeed a group- full of creative people. I have already started enjoying.
Thank you once again for creating such a wonderful group.

My favorite books are the ToG Series, ACOTAR series, Rick Riodan books, much, much more and the newly-finished Red, White and Royal Blue. Usually I prefer series with about more than three books because why not and my dream job is to be a lawyer that works in the UN.
I simply did not know of this group's existence until (*giggle) Unicorn/Tessa introduced me to it. I may not be as active as others mainly because my nose is always sticked to a book, plus I hardly go on my devices except when I read online. And well, I joined it not only because Unicorn recommended it but also because I actually wish that there would be a group basing off on YA books because this is where I can 'talk' to others about it.
By the way, I'm totally fine with ADULT content books. AND DON'T SAY I'M TOO YOUNG FOR IT because...ah, nervermind (actually I also think I'm too young to read these types of books...). But never the less, I still read it.
:) Thank you. I'm sorry for talking so much...credits if you could read ALL of that--I'm pretty sure I wouldn't myself. :D Anyway, I'm excited to see what's on this group!

Hey Melvina! I'm sorry you're having trouble getting books over there. I just wanted to say, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with not wanting to read adult content in books. I'm almost 18 and I still don't like reading that stuff (I normally just skim/skip it if it happens in a book I'm reading), so don't be ashamed about your reading preferences. To each their own, and if you don't like reading about certain things, then who cares? You do you!

So, I am Domitylle and I am French, though, I speak english fluently.
I love fantasy, mythology, young adult, sci-fi (...) books and I also love when there is humor in them!
I love Harry Potter, PJO and HOO and Tara Duncan!
I really like Rick Riordan, Sophie Audoin-Mamikonian, J.K.Rowling and a bunch of other amazing authors!
I like to dance, play piano and read.
I'd like to be an astronaut even though I know it's almost impossible... 😅
I joined the group because as I read the description of it, it looks amazing and it looks like it's talking about stuff I like talking about and also because I myself, am a bookworm!
And that's all about me! (at least a part of who I am)
Welcome Melvina and Domitylle!

Hi Domitylle,
my name is Monika, I am German and live in Brittany (Cotes d'Armor, Bretagne) and I write novels in English (UK). In everyday life I speak mostly French and people call me Monique, but unfortuntely I don't speak French well enough to actually write books. I do teach English and or German sometimes, though.
I have written a YA fantasy novel, "What if?", it revolves around the war for Troy and the Amazons, in case you are interested. I'd be happy to exchange a copy (e-book or PDF) for an honest review.
Monique.

*sits down in circle*
i'm 28 and from Liverpool, England. my favourite genres are fantasy (YA, urban, epic), sci-fi, magical realism, mental health and fable. i read/review mostly second-hand books and ARC's.
i'd love to connect with readers who love the same genres as i do, and share thoughts on books! (or you can just read mine... i have a few!)
i read/review books on my profile, here
much love to you all,
rebecca

Another fact: I don't like YA contemporary and rarely read it. When reading a book, I want to escape into a different world: be it completely made up, set in the future or the past, or involving some sort of secret cult in this world (cough Shadowhunters cough). I don't want to be reading something ordinary, about normal people, because that's usually a bore to me. The romance is - most of the time, or in what experience I've had, at least - nothing special too, because most of the book is taken up by it, instead of being a sideplot like in a fantasy. The only contemporaries I actually like - a lot - are TATBILB and Five Feet Apart. :)

I love everything from YA to historical fiction to sci-fi, and I love buddy reading with people, so I'm always game to buddy read with someone or even with a whole group of people! I, of course, love reading, and I also love dancing and listening to music.
I hope everyone is doing ok during lockdown!
Thanks for the invitation, Ashley :))

My favorite genres are YA, fantasy, mystery, and romance :)
I’m just now catching up with all the popular books (like Harry Potter,Percy Jackson, Shadowhunters, etc), but I still love to talk about books with everyone! I like playing the piano, drawing, and reading, and I wish I could be a professional artist when I’m older.
I like how nice people are in this group, so I’m very excited to join and meet people! :D

My favorite genres are YA, YA fantasy, Fantasy, Crime and Thriller and Poetry. But it doesn't matter what genre it is as long as the book is nice. As of books, my favorite stand-alones are I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. I love the whole Shadowhunter series, Throne of Glass series and Harry Potter (obviously).
As of hobbies, I love reading, listening some good music and writing poetry.
That's all..... I would love to participate in all the discussions and make many new friends.
