"Super unusual writing in this one. I liked it at first, but now I'm not so sure. I do like the protagonist though and I'm curious to see where her story goes." Oct 30, 2020 04:39AM

Rebecca | Velvet Opus Rebecca | Velvet Opus said: " I adore Rebecca so RUBY FALLS immediately caught my eye. Described as "a nail-biting tale of a fragile young actress... a thrilling and twisty homage to Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca". YES, PLEASE. Thanks to the publisher for a review copy! RTC. "

"I couldn't resist. I started reading Ruby Falls already, even though it's not published till May 2021! The plot is so intriguing and heads up, the writing is really good too. This might be my next bedtime read..." Oct 30, 2020 04:36AM

"I sometimes find self-help books a bit wishy-washy but this one is packed full of research and practical life tips based on that research. It's also structured in a really easy-to-read way and has lots of case studies of individuals suffering from burnout, and what they could do to prevent it. A great read so far." Oct 30, 2020 04:34AM

Alix E. Harrow
“Those of you who are more than casually familiar with books -- those of you who spend your free afternoons in fusty bookshops, who offer furtive, kindly strokes along the spines of familiar titles -- understand that page riffling is an essential element in the process of introducing oneself to a new book. It isn't about reading the words; it's about reading the smell, which wafts from the pages in a cloud of dust and wood pulp. It might smell expensive and well bound, or it might smell of tissue-thin paper and blurred two-colour prints, or of fifty years unread in the home of a tobacco-smoking old man. Books can smell of cheap thrills or painstaking scholarship, or literary weight or unsolved mysteries.”
Alix E. Harrow, The Ten Thousand Doors of January

“Every story is a love story if you catch it at the right moment”

David Mitchell
“A half-read book is a half-finished love affair.”
David Mitchell, Cloud Atlas

Carlos Ruiz Zafón
“Once, in my father's bookshop, I heard a regular customer say that few things leave a deeper mark on a reader than the first book that finds its way into his heart. Those first images, the echo of words we think we have left behind, accompany us throughout our lives and sculpt a palace in our memory to which, sooner or later—no matter how many books we read, how many worlds we discover, or how much we learn or forget—we will return.”
Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Shadow of the Wind

Erin Morgenstern
“Strange, isn’t it? To love a book. When the words on the pages become so precious that they feel like part of your own history because they are. It’s nice to finally have someone read stories I know so intimately.”
Erin Morgenstern, The Starless Sea
