What do you do if the book you want to read has no Genre? Can you get it verified as that Genre or would I need to pass on to a Librarian?Book I was hoping to get verified was The Reluctant Traveller - Bill Lumley for Travel.

Well, it does show travel on the main page, with 3 users so you're okay.
If it does not show any genres, you would not be able to use it, and a librarian wouldn't be able to change that. Librarians do not assign genres any more than I do - it's based on how GR users shelve a book.
