I tried to like them. I did. They're so fucking beautiful and firm and lovely. But I just don't like them. Can't help it.

I love all those vegetables listed (except eggplant and okra, which I only like.) I especially love brussel sprouts, fennel and cauliflower. MmmmMMmmMMmmmmmm...
I am not very picky with foods at all, though. Except my whole thing with animal flesh. And Butterfinger. And Dr. Pepper. And Mountain Dew. But if it comes from the earth and it isn't called a breast or a thigh (or various other body parts that I also have,) I usually love it. I don't really like papaya, though. Or tarragon.
Seth, are you picky with non-vegetable food? What about strange cheeses? Do you like those? I do.

Papaya hater! I don’t like that craft cheese that comes wrapped in plastic… it taste like plastic! I know it aint strange cheese but still is weird to me!
Peas and green beans make me want to throw up.What a thing to say on my first visit here in a long time, ha!
Sarah, tarragon is really only good on chicken. I don't eat that anymore, and I can't think of any other recipe that calls for tarragon. So maybe when you smell tarragon it reminds you of chicken?
One time I made tarragon mushrooms from Martha Stewart magazine and it was horrible. It was so tarragony.
Yeah, that's not cheese, Bones.
I've got an evil list...Artichoke
Asparagus
Beet
Broccoli
Brussel sprouts
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Celeriac
Chard
Chicory
Collards
Cucumbers
Kale
Leek
Lettuce
Mushrooms
Okra
Onions
Parsnips
Peppers
Radicchio
Radish
Rhubarb
Rutabaga
Shallots
Spinach
Squash
Tomatoes
Turnips
when i turned thirty, i made a list of foods i had hated until then, and i said - now i am an adult with adult taste buds, and i re-tried many of them to see if they had become delicious since i was younger. answer - not really. plain yogurt is all right. olives and oysters can still go fuck themselves.
I love Tarragon! But I think it's like Cilantro...you can't use too much. I like tarragon vinegar. Also, there is this tarragon sauce for dipping steamed artichokes that is divine!
That's what I was thinking about Beets and Butternut Squash. Got any ideas for me Bunny? Something that maybe doesn't feature them so strongly? I tried roasted beets and pickled beets. I didn't hate them but I didn't really want to eat them either. Same with the BN squash. I roasted it and cubed it.
that bean soup sounds great!! i adore turnips. care to share the recipe?? its starting to get soup-weather here.
oh man - that sounds great!! ive actually only had squash soup where the squash is pureed... this sounds really hearty. i will need some seriously crusty bread for this. i might make this really soon- i will be sure to think of you the whole time. thank you!!

Do you know how long it takes to discover that that stupid chopped leaf sitting on top of your salsa or TexMex salad is the cause of your abdominal cramping?
That soup sounds fantastic, Bunny!! is winter squash the same as butternut squash? Butternut squash is kind of sweet, yes? It seemed sweet to me.I had Moroccan food one time and was violently ill afterwards. I wonder if I'm intolerant to one of the herbs or spices they use and I had just never encountered it before. It was the worst! I know it wasn't food poisoning because we all had the same food from the same plates even. It was all share-style.
I'm going to make that. I always go on a soup binge in the Fall.
Also, I LOVE CABBAGE! Montambo + Cabbage = True Love Always.

Oooo I just wokked some cabbage with lamb cubes last night, yes yes I do love cabbage. And that soup sounds terrific, yum! I don't like recipes that call for puree me like lumps. As for cilantro, oh yum yum, one of my favorite spices! I only learned a few years ago how cilantro tastes like soap to many people.
Gretchen - that's too bad about the Moroccan food, oh I love it.
