I read Real Friends by Shannon Hale on a whim, because my daughter got the sequel as a Christmas gift. Now I'm re-reading it with the girls. It's a super cute graphic novel by a new to me author, about growing up and how friendships change. Great choice for fans of Raina TelegmeierMy original choice was The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan, which I'm still planning on trying to fit in as a double if I have time. I have at least three of her books on my shelf and I can't believe I haven't read her yet!

3. Have you read books by this author before? No. This book was published posthumously so I probably won't. (Also, I didn't realize until I read it that it is not technically written by Ms. Bush. It was a collection of her writings and speeches and others' stories about her.)
Free to Learn: Why Unleashing the Instinct to Play Will Make Our Children Happier, More Self-Reliant, and Better Students for Life by Peter O. Gray was my choice for this category. I've never read this author before, but I learned some great things from it.

I read Graham Robb, Parisians: An Adventure History of Paris for this prompt. Although I fouond the style rather odd, the content was rivetting.
