Can I choose a German team from WW2 led by SS commando Otto Skorzeni, 'the most dangerous man in Europe' according to the British. He led the rescue mission that freed Mussolini from his mountain jail and also organised the SS units which infiltrated American lines in the Battle of the Bulge while wearing American uniforms, among other feats. I would pair him with the ficticious German airborne troopers led by Michael Caine to kidnap Prime Minister Churchill in the film 'The Eagle has landed'. Otto Skorzeni was a scarfaced, 6 foot 4 inch colossus who was as scary as he was dangerous.

I am not sure about his motives after the end of the war. I do know however that he was a real soldier, not a butcher like too many SS soldiers, and was cleared of all accusations of war crimes by the Allies. He eventually died of natural causes in Spain, having run an import-export business. He was rumored to have been a lover of the famed Nazi female test pilot, Hanna Reitsch. All in all, a very interesting man indeed.

They're led by Vietnam war veteran and scourge of Japanese Politicians, John Rain. He's the "natural causes killer", a man who doesn't need a gun to kill someone. (He's actually a rubbish shot). Instead he uses more complicated and creative methods which do not leave any trace of foul play. Next, we have a USMC veteran turned contractor only known as Dox. Plays up the southern charm but can coldly drill holes in his targets with a M40 sniper rifle. Rounding off the group are two operators from the Intelligence Support Activity. One is Daniel Larrison and the other is Ben Trevalyn. Both of them hate each other's guts with a passion and are equally good at killing people.

Well Michel, turns out Skorzenzy allegedly had a part time job after the war. Mossad asset. Hired gun and literal triggerman for one of the institutes' earliest and most critical projects.

I Knew he did security consulting for Juan and Eva Peron after the war, but it's surprising how he decided to take a job offer from men who would have either hanged him or shot him many times for what he had done in his career.
Wow! If this is true, then it confirms to me the kind of character I believed Otto Skorzeni to be: intelligent, ruthless, resourceful, competent and highly skilled, but also a man who was far from being a psychopathic monster and who had some principles. He still is my favorite to lead my dream special ops team. Whatever he was in terms of ethics, he was certainly a superb soldier and man of action.

The fictional version has a everyman unglamorous German journalist and Mossad asset running down the facilitator who is hiring the former scientists to work for Nasser.
The real life version has one of the most dashing, feared soldiers of World War 2 turned Mossad asset conducting a slick campaign of direct action against those very scientists in cooperation with the institute and their officers.
This is one of those time you can say truth is stranger than fiction.
Choose your ideal commando team
1) WWII
2) Vietnam
3) Present-day
Can be fiction characters or movie characters. Let's say 4-man teams only.
