Countdown to Burned Release
Samantha isn't that the Best news ever!! 10 books!! Maybe there is no 10 of the nine but like I initially though 10 books?
lol Geez who'd hack goodreads. That's cruel I hate when hateful people try to mess things up for everyone else, like virus spreaders, and info stealers. Ryodan should toss Mac in there lol And why did they move that specific silver there in the first place, what were they trying to do? I honestly can't see Barrons purposely letting the Unseelie princesses out either, unless it's an accident, but I can't see him doing that either.
Inanda wrote: "Samantha isn't that the Best news ever!! 10 books!! Maybe there is no 10 of the nine but like I initially though 10 books?"LOL KMM already confirmed that the number 10 doesn't signify the number of books but something else.
But I wonder why she is adding a 10th book now...what's going on with her writing process. Is there so much spilling out now.
I thought 10 books were her original intentions? At first, it was the Fever series (5 books), Iced, Burned, Flayed, and then two extra Mac books after.
You know Mac definitely does need to be taken down some pegs, an ass whooping is a good one. But I'd be satisfied if someone just told she's an idiot, and asked her how she can still be so stupid after all this time. She screws up and everyone has to keep picking up the pieces. Or since that probably won't work because she no doubt would bring up some memory of daddy telling her how smart she is, maybe they should hit her where it REALLY hurts, her vanity. Curse her where she wakes up one day next to Barrons and she's taken up the whole bed cause she's suddenly 400 pounds and her hair falls out. She no longer can use her looks to get whatever she thinks she automatically deserves and is entitled to and she's not going to look like such a bad ass, with mega super powers and fighting skills spear or no when she's waddling down the damn street.
Yeah but then she said she was combining the two extra Mac books with Burned and Flayed. Then she got rid of Flayed. Added Feverborn and then Feversong. So there is one book after Feversong.
Kristen wrote: "You know Mac definitely does need to be taken down some pegs, an ass whooping is a good one. But I'd be satisfied if someone just told she's an idiot, and asked her how she can still be so stupid a..."LMAO. Love your Mac rant Kristen.
Samantha wrote: "Yeah but then she said she was combining the two extra Mac books with Burned and Flayed. Then she got rid of Flayed. Added Feverborn and then Feversong. So there is one book after Feversong."Basically yeah, if the news about a 10th book is true.
So did she combine all the Dani books with the Mac ones? Like Burned is counted as a Dani book and Mac, and Flayed is Dani and Mac, and Feverborn and Feversong is mostly Mac?
See the who combining makes me nervous. I feel like Dani will get pushed out gradually and then when the final books comes, she won't have a POV anymore.
Cookie wrote: "See the who combining makes me nervous. I feel like Dani will get pushed out gradually and then when the final books comes, she won't have a POV anymore."I can't. I get cramps thinking like that. LOL.
LOL! OMG now I'm picking Barrons face when he goes out while Macs sleeping and comes back to THAT. He'd probably have a sudden loss of his own, the first thing to bring him down in thousands of years is the sight of a....Big Mac.
Kristen wrote: "LOL! OMG now I'm picking Barrons face when he goes out while Macs sleeping and comes back to THAT. He'd probably have a sudden loss of his own, the first thing to bring him down in thousands of yea..."lmfao, Kristen you are too fecking much! a big Mac omg I can't! ahahaha
I could see Mac finally ready to make a deal with the book asking it if it had anything in its bag of tricks for such an attack, and the book going silent, it's finally defeated, because it doesn't wanna be stuck like that either. Mac's greatest personal weapon gone, not all the power in the world could make any difference now.
Cookie wrote: "See the who combining makes me nervous. I have faith K Mo will tell Dani's story, and to do that Dani's got to have a voice, no?
You can always cop out, give her a half assed ending, then move on... But I have faith in KMM as well. She won't disappoint Dani fans I hope.
Yes Melissa Tea!! Dani is not getting written out I am 100% certain about that! Dani had her POV in Mac books Darkfever and Shadowfever remember! They will both be in all the rest of the books.
Inanda wrote: "Yes Melissa Tea!! Dani is not getting written out I am 100% certain about that! Dani had her POV in Mac books Darkfever and Shadowfever remember! They will both be in all the rest of the books."Inanda: are you getting some inside information?
To all you others, are you starting to get in trouble with your boyfriends/girlfriends because of your obsession with this book?
I asked my man if i should take a day off work tomorrow to read the book, but then I got his opinion on what he really thinks about me being obsessed about fiction. Hahahahha, nobody understands us...
To tell Dani's story in a decent way though she needs to be more then a side character! :( From what some were saying about her observer.. she better not have been abused! That would just be the bitterest pill to swallow after all her thinking of how she will lose her V in an epic way someday. She's had that same thought more then once now so I have to believe she is still a virgin.
Everything she mentioned in that "shadowy cave" she in reality does.. like wear the coat, the skull-and-crossbones panties, etc. So I think she is a virgin still too.

I need that to be true but I'm not sure now. Just hate the thought.

Don't worry she won't lose her v card until the very last book. It'll drag on and on until we think it can't drag on any longer, then it'll drag on some more, then if we're lucky it'll happen and won't have lost too too much of the anticipatory buildup.
I'm pretty sure the 3 book thing is a mistake. I think we'll definitely have to wait til the last book for the epic virginity loss though LOL I need awhile to prepare for that anyway
Well I hope Dani still has a V card to lose, I'm going to focus on that one first. Because if she was abused as a child and has no memory of it, I'm thinking it will come out in the second to last or the last book, kind of how Mac had the first memory of sex with Barrons wiped, and it took how many books for her to get flashbacks of it and find out? KMM seems to be following a similar pattern with Dani, there are just too many similarities and comparisons that are too much alike for my comfort. I don't know if KMM just ran out of ideas or not. Maybe she built off Dani's storyline by Macs, the only thing that is completely different is how they grew up.I thought it was really sweet of Dani, how despite the issues between her and Mac, and how she has crushed on Barrons big time in the past, she wants them to stay together and be happy. No jealousy or envy.
I wonder if there are many fight scenes in this book? I just noticed that while many of the characters are bloody and violent there aren't many big detailed fights.
She took 5 books to get Mac to make her mind up about whether or not trusting Jericho was a good idea. I don't think Dani being ready to face the smoldering looks from Ryo and exploring her sexuality is going to happen faster than that. There is a very unpleasant trend in the publishing world right now, and it's how to fill as many pages as possible with non structural angst, deep thinking and self doubting, ensuring there are enough pages to keep readers thinking they are actually purchasing and reading a book, while advancing the story as little as possible but ending each segment on a cliff hanger keeping readers on tenterhooks, so as to guarantee the sale of three or more separate novels to tell a single simple story. In this particular instance, the readership is migrating towards being invested in Dani's evolution and transformation. The goal for her character arc is to find somewhere to belong and someone to belong there with. Last book, third from last chapter. Psssssst~ I hope i'm very very wrong. But she kinda started this trent.
Hm, on the business side of things I admire their strategy and tactics, on the readers side...it's a butt crack thing to do. I get it and semi admire it, but far from happy about it.
Marketwise, it's smart. As a reader its getting tiresome. In the last 20 books I've read, two were worth the paper they would have been printed on. The rest were drivel -50 shades of twilight - that could have been told in an amateur short story magazine in 10 pages or less, yet some were stretched out over three complete prints. WTF>>!! And they were top of the charts to boot! This is what i am finding so dejecting. My appreciation as a reader is turning into cynicism and I am finding it very difficult to respect so called artistic integrity when for the most part I feel like the butt of the joke as those "authors" are laughing all the way to the bank. KMM right now for me (since I was recommended to read Darkfever) has been in that category. It's hard to retain respect for someone that needs 2500 pages to tell a 750 page story but they sucker you in with that lack of letting you know what's next... so like a crack addict I keep biting because I can't stand open doors! LOL
Yea I've had a few authors laugh at me on the way to the bank too. Some tricky ones. And that's being polite. What other books were you talking about?
Melissa Tea wrote: "I'm pretty sure the 3 book thing is a mistake. I think we'll definitely have to wait til the last book for the epic virginity loss though LOL I need awhile to prepare for that anyway"Who mentioned that 3 more books. LOL. Awww, so we got to get a kiss in the next book! LOL.

Samantha: but Mac got a kiss in the first book, didn't she?
Samantha wrote: "Melissa Tea wrote: "I'm pretty sure the 3 book thing is a mistake. I think we'll definitely have to wait til the last book for the epic virginity loss though LOL I need awhile to prepare for that a..."Ummm, doesn't Dani and Ryodan kiss in this book ? :(
I don't remember about Mac's first kiss. I don't know if Dani/Ryo kiss. Or if Ryo/Observer kiss. Who knows. I will find out soon enough though.
I think the review said something about ten books? idk It definitely seems like we'll be getting some sexual tension in this book, from all the reviews. I hope it doesn't come off as happening too fast!
(view spoiler)
The first kiss Mac gets from Barrons that she remembers is after Malluce throws her into some crates and she gets knocked out, and briefly remembers Barrons giving her a lip peck. The next time I remember is after Malluce tortures Mac she eats that Unseelie and fights Barrons to prove how strong she is (a scene I hated because she was such a corny idiot) they end up making out. Then when she's pri-ya, then in the white mansion, then after she brings the queen back from the prison and she's sitting on the couch (this was when Barrons kisses her and she can't breath), and finally when Barrons thinks she was going to die and she finally admits to wanting to sleep with him. (Also thought it was dumb of her not to wonder why Barrons was keeping a kid in a cage, even when she realized he was the one making the noises all this time).

I have an idea about who he was saying that in front of but I can't go there, Melissa. Too crazy. LOL

Maybe the observer says she doesn't have a contract with Ryodan and he's trying to enforce it. Plus considering what he did on level four having sex with everyone around I doubt he cares what Mac might see, or what anyone thinks. My thing is if Ryodan gets with the observer, that isn't fair to Dani because she wouldn't have made the choice and be in her right mind, it's not really her, who she wants to be. I wonder if Ryodan will like the observer better.

Everytime I manage to convince myself that I can tolerate more of Mac if only to get to more of Dani's story, someone comes in reminding me how bright she's not and I just fecking lose it....
He wouldn't get with the Observer. I think he wants Dani because she has the personality and humor he likes. The other wouldn't be concern with all that. She sounds like she is about killing and emotionless. That's not what I think he wants.

I thought it was 10, but it could be 9. Because as at first it was supposed to be Iced, Burned, Flayed, ... then the Flayed title got changed and another book added, I thought there was a yet another book added as well. Cant remember all the titles though.
Oh oh and remember when Barrons told Mac she's bipolar!? Same storyline KMM same storyline!! Now I ranted. What's sad Jeebz is that I had myself convinced I was starting to like Mac, that she was evolving from her experiences as a character, now I'm thinking I just like anything Barrons, because I'm constantly reminding myself things I hated about her, and seems like in this book she's continually pissing me off.
