Whoa whoa Kristen! lol... go back and re-read the passage. It is SO not like that. And it is CHRISTIAN's pov, hence his take on things. I don't think Ryodan thinks of Dani and sex EVER.

Why couldn't they be interested in anyone of the opposite sex without actually having sex? Barrons didn't jump on Mac right away. Same thing. Only thing Mac was older than Dani.

some bookstores that have already started selling the book!! Not mine apparently.
No no I skimmed the book and Ryodan doesn't mention sex, but still when I think of his character (and yea I know he see's Dani as a girl who would become an amazing woman, and has all this potential) that's what comes to mind. Despite that he doesn't see her now in a sexual way, because of her looks or age whatever the specific reason, that the "one day" is there it's weird. Barrons was interested in Mac in a very sexual way from the moment he saw her. Or she felt his carnal, sexual tension, and he said he can smell when she wants to have sex with him, his POV from when he went to her hotel said as much for both of them, and if nothing else that part of it is what I believe. The second time she saw him, he licked her neck and stared at her breasts. That's pretty sexual. Just because he didn't rip her clothes off right away it was clear he wanted to. Mac had noticed it several times before they did anything.
And it's how the nine are written. If it was anyone else yea you can easily be interested in someone apart from any sexual thoughts or feelings. But the nine aren't just anyone. They need and crave constant sex, and their opinions and outlook at woman isn't very flattering, I'm sure they respect and are interested in Dani's abilities and strength right now, as well as her experiences in life that have made her who she is, that will only add to her getting stronger, but when she gets older wouldn't that just add fuel to the fire?
It's true even Barrons seems to have noticed something special and interesting about Dani, and we know there are no sexual feelings there, and he hasn't paid her too much attention. Though she had a huge crush on him, and V'lane. She mentions her fantasies are starting to move away from Barrons to Ryodan territory and she imagines and thinks about the sexual sounds he made when she saw him having sex in the lower level of the club, pictures his face and everything. Now I'm not saying it's wrong or anything more realistic because she's a curious 14 year old girl at that point, it's sort of normal.
If say Jayne Dani saw this strong, loyal, fierce fighter, with neat abilities, smart, and several other things which makes him curious and interested in her I'd say that's fine, after all there had been no hints of sexual chemistry between them and he never tried or said anything so it sounds like this is someone who admires and respects her, they'd become good allies, and friends. But this is Ryodan that's keeping a very close interested eye on her, probably for her abilities and even though he never crossed that line or hinted at it, the fact that a lot of people think they won't just be friends or allies, but lovers in the future, it's either out of love for two great characters who you like so much you think they'd be a great couple, or you saw between the lines there was going to be more, which Ryodan would also see. I don't know if that makes sense. I didn't pick up on it in the book, maybe I just can't picture her as being 19. Logically I know Ryodan didn't feel that way towards her, she wasn't ready for it being so young, I don't even know what it is about them being together I rambled on too long.
Maybe Burned will change my mind once I get used to a more adult Dani?
Those two scenes you ladies mentioned... yes! The scene where he broke her down was so intense, and that was the first time Dani was willing to admit that she had some sort of feeling other than hatred for him. She even admitted that she missed him!The one with Christian seeing Ryodan's true feelings for the first time. Omg! "When she's old enough, he intends to be the one." I swooned so hard here. And being Ryodan who never lets out any weak emotions, this revelation to Christian was very intentional on Ryo's part. It's like he's saying, Back off, she's mine. Lol
Kristen wrote: "No no I skimmed the book and Ryodan doesn't mention sex, but still when I think of his character (and yea I know he see's Dani as a girl who would become an amazing woman, and has all this potentia..."I hope her aging will help you with any romantic interest. I never saw it as icky.
I don't know, if a man like Ryodan was looking at my niece with such interest, "when she's old enough.....mine". Anyway I wonder what Mac's response would be, and what she thinks about the Ryodan taking an active interest in Dani? Barrons probably doesn't care, and if he knows I doubt he'd bring it up.
My favourite scene was probably when Dani nearly 'dies' due to hypothermia. And before she passes out she starts laughing, cause she has no regrets with how she's lived her life. I was like awww... That's quintessential Dani right there. Her lust for life, is what sets her apart for me from most heroines. And later on when Ryodan asks her about, and scolds her lol.

oh cool! I hadn't heard that. Maybe I should call all my local bookstores... I already tried looking online for a leaked copy... no luck...
Fresiako, I love that scene too!

So true.
Fresiako wrote: "My favourite scene was probably when Dani nearly 'dies' due to hypothermia. And before she passes out she starts laughing, cause she has no regrets with how she's lived her life. I was like awww......"Yes to this! :)
Hm, favorite scenes are hard. I loved most of the scenes between Ryodan and Dani, and some of my favorites have already been mentiond.Other scenes I liked where when Ryodan and Dani go searching for evidence and Dani asks Ryodan about who saved her at the church and Ryodan wouldn't admit it was Dancer.
And the quote from ryodan about what kind of name Dancer is anyway. Makes me also wonder if there is something in Dancers name that will be revield later.
I loved the scene where Ryodan asks Dani define love and it's obviously that they no longer are talking about Ryodan and Jo. And later when Dani punches him- not long after he tells her she can never defy him in public again.
I loved the scene when Ryodan wouldn't look at Dani when Lor had put her in a costume.
I loved reading about Ryodan shaking when he gave Dani jello-water. And I'm dying to find out why he was shaking.
I kind of liked the scene where Ryodan was holding Jo, because it made Dani jealous. Weird rigth? But a young girl having ha secret/unconsious crush on a man isn't that weird.
I liked the scene when Dani came to Chesters after spending the night with Christian and Ryodan forced her to wash of the "stink".
Winnie wrote: "Hm, favorite scenes are hard. I loved most of the scenes between Ryodan and Dani, and some of my favorites have already been mentiond.Other scenes I liked where when Ryodan and Dani go searching ..."
i love this so much Winnie!
Haha. Another of my favourite scenes is the ipod one, where everyone is criticizing Dani's music collection. LOL. And Lor and her get into a fight over Hendrix. And Ryodan going "Somebody kill me now," in reaction to Dani liking Nicki Minaj lol. And the scene where Dani discovers that Ryodan doesn't know anything about Batman. Lol, and she makes him choke with laughter repeatedly.
Or the scenes where Dani and Ryodan become like a power couple lol. When they work together to defeat something, Like when they both transport Jo away from the HKF. Or when they inherently understand each other without having to say anything in action scenes. (example, Dani becoming a locomotive to push Ryodan forward) It's reminiscent of Mac's and Barrons long winded eye convo's while being a bit more (in my opinion) believable.
Winnie you mention a lot off the scenes I love. There is just 1 more! it is the scene when Dani and Christian r in faery in the kings library. I know it is not a scene with Ryodan but it is so funny. The sentence of the Bora Bora books are hilarious !! Cookie I should have known you will go looking for the book leak !!
great scenes! Winnie, I can't believe I forgot about Dani punching Ryodan. I think that is my no. 1 fave part! How everyone just stops for a second in shock. Hahahah! Dani rocks
I'm listening to the audio book again before BURNED and my favorite part is when Dani and Lor are talking in Ryodan's office after she's breezed in from Christian's place. Lor points out a women with large assets and tells Dani that he planned on getting laid and she notes that he's missing a mallet so she doesn't see how that was suppose to happen. It just cracks me up even thinking about it.
Kristen wrote: "No no I skimmed the book and Ryodan doesn't mention sex, but still when I think of his character (and yea I know he see's Dani as a girl who would become an amazing woman, and has all this potentia..."I'm listening to the book on audio right now and I recommend rereading or listening to the audio again. Ryodan definitely has sexual feelings toward Dani. He even mentions to her at one point that in another time at 14 she would be a wife and/or mother. He's immortal and has learned to be patient. He will wait until she's older to "claim" her so to speak but make to mistake he has his sights on her. Lor makes comments throughout the book trying to help Dani understand or get used to the idea of Ryodan in a different manner but at 14 she obviously isn't picking it up or doesn't want to at this point. I think listening to it being read by someone the way the author intended helps give a better idea.

I certainly hope he's featured more in BURNED.
I think the book is my favorite!!! Because there is not one scene that I did not like! The boinking scene was even good because I thought ohh Dude you r in for a really hard time when Dani is older and I am going to enjoy every minute of it!!
I really love the part where dani was angry when she looked at Ryodan and Jo cuddling, but doesn't know why she was angry. I was like,"it's happening it's happening!" Haha
Hazelwileyed wrote: "Gothcupcake wrote: "Liz wrote: "I'm listening to the audio book again before BURNED and my favorite part is when Dani and Lor are talking in Ryodan's office after she's breezed in from Christian's ..."I listened to this after reading the hard copy. Loved it.
Inanda wrote: "I think the book is my favorite!!! Because there is not one scene that I did not like! The boinking scene was even good because I thought ohh Dude you r in for a really hard time when Dani is older..."Gah! The boinking scene was horrible. Lmao.
The thing about Ryodan that is different from Barron's is that he laughs a lot!! Especially with Dani and he smiles a lot?
I'm sure I'm not the only one but who else feels like poor Jo is going to get her heart broken. She isn't stupid and I know she sees what's going on between Dani and Ryodan. I would really like more explanation as to why he chose Jo, was it only to make Dani see him and be jealous? I like Jo and agree with Dani that she deserves better than that.....
Inanda wrote: "The thing about Ryodan that is different from Barron's is that he laughs a lot!! Especially with Dani and he smiles a lot?"That's very true! He cracks jokes and smiles. But only in Dani's presence ;)

He won't even really break up with her he'll just cease contact and it'll kill her, she'll no longer get the nod. I never thought about that, I like that way you think!
I'll be starting my re-read of Iced in the next few days. I'll wait until I remember more about everything that happens to share my favorite scene(s).
KimeyDiann wrote: "I'll be starting my re-read of Iced in the next few days. I'll wait until I remember more about everything that happens to share my favorite scene(s)."Oh no...come on KimeyDiann. You got to have a favorite scene.

He also freeze framed away when she asked why she gets to know....we all know he heard her.
I know what one of my favorite scenes will be in Burned! The one where Jo gets the Boot!! Can not wait for this scene .
Inanda wrote: "I know what one of my favorite scenes will be in Burned! The one where Jo gets the Boot!! Can not wait for this scene ."LMAO!!!!!
Hey can the nine have children? I've always assumed No, that whatever they are they can't reproduce, even though their clearly living and definitely sexually active.
Inanda wrote: "I know what one of my favorite scenes will be in Burned! The one where Jo gets the Boot!! Can not wait for this scene ."It's going to be a scene that's popcorn worthy hahaha I can't wait either.
Inanda wrote: "The thing about Ryodan that is different from Barron's is that he laughs a lot!! Especially with Dani and he smiles a lot?"Yes Inanda! That is what I love about Ryodan. He is so much more emotionally accessible than Barrons ever was. He is so honest and shares a lot of information with Dani.

I'm really fuzzy on what all happened in Iced. The main scene I remember that I really liked is when Dani almost dies of hypothermia and Dancer strips down to give her his body heat. Then he throws the fact in Ryodan's and Christian's faces that they can't warm her up like he can.
I found the quote: "Rule #1 of the universe: the crap always hits the fan. It's the nature of crap. It's a fan magnet."
Little Feather wrote: "Inanda wrote: "The thing about Ryodan that is different from Barron's is that he laughs a lot!! Especially with Dani and he smiles a lot?"Yes Inanda! That is what I love about Ryodan. He is so mu..."
Yes!!! That's why I like that finger breaking scene. Even though he was mad, I got so much more from him than I ever did from Barrons. I thought it was amazing.

KimeyDiann, she did have a bunch of great quotes. Are you re-reading now?
