Countdown to Burned Release
Has everyone already pre-ordered Burned? The price on the Kindle edition is a little ridiculous in my opinion.

I thought the Kindle edition only costs $11.99? That's a pretty normal price compared to other books I think. It's the print edition's price that's terrifying... $27.00 if you don't pre-order...

My original impression is that the nine (or ten,including Barron's boy) were cursed because of the evil things they did. So either the curse was placed originally on just them, or if one of them is obliterated then another must take their place as renewed punishment for the original curse. So would that mean the curse would strike one of the nine's loved ones as ultimate punishment? Like Mac or Dani? lol I just have a hard time imagining them turning into these furry prehistoric fanged beasts.
$11.99 seems like a lot to me for an ebook. The hardcover is only $17.00. But it seems like the ebook prices keep getting a little higher and a little higher. I pretty much never buy new releases because if you wait a couple of months the price will drop. I very rarely will buy an ebook that costs more than $7.99. I've only bought one that cost more than $9.99 and that was Iced when it was released at $10.99. If I weren't so excited for more of the Fever World, I wouldn't buy Burned yet solely because I feel like the publishers over-inflate their prices.
I read over 100 books in 2014, mostly ebooks... if they all cost just $10 (thankfully they didn't!) that would be over $1000 per year. I'm too cheap to justify spending that much money on something the publishers have the ability to take away from me with the push of a button.
I guess lucky for KMM and her publishers, I'm pri-ya for this series and will dole out the cash to get my fix. lol. :)
lol! It's just that I'm so used to seeing YA novels at 9.99 or 10.99 that I'm not even fazed by the pricing of Burned. But I feel you girl. Books are great for our brains, not so much our wallets.Wow. $1000? This is why libraries are my best friends haha.
I tend to stay away from books over $4.99. I'm super cheap. My addiction requires me to be. If not, I might be poor. LOL. But KMM is an exception.
I'm with you Samantha. I try to limit my book purchases to under $5 and I prefer the $1.99 & $2.99 sales or FREE! With rare exception I absolutely refuse to spend over $7.99 for an ebook. I trade a lot of books on paperbackswap.com and buy used. I signed up for Kindle Unlimited a couple of months ago and I'm really liking it.
Cookie, I'm an accountant so I try to be aware of how all of the little costs add up and impact my budget. If I bought every book I want to read as soon as they are released, I'd easily spend way more than $1000 per year! But since I'm a bargain shopper and usually have a decent amount of patience, I only spend a very small fraction of that amount! :) Patience and The Fever World just don't go together for me though, so that is one of my exceptions. lol Is it still 18 more days?!
LOL, wow, your life must be soo much easier KimeyDiann! No need for Black Fridays! I believe saving money and hunting for bargains is a skill that you have. Unfortunately, I can't keep track of all the numbers like you do. Yes. KMM and the Fever world are totally exceptions. I'm willing to spend $27 at my local Barnes and Noble so they can have the book to me 2 days early. Here's to hoping it does come early!

I agree with you lady's but there is Authors that I really love and just can't wait to get the book in paperback so I bye on Kindle!! And I stay in South Africa so some of my Fav authors books takes a while before thy r available! But Reading is a expensive hoppy just like my music addiction. But we live to enjoy life so I indulge!

You are correct Inanda, it seems all the best hobbies can be expensive. And what point is living life if you can't enjoy it, so we must all indulge at least a little! :DNo worries, I would never spoil it! And I'm sure I'll stick with the kindle version, I'm an ebook addict. So, Cookie, no spoilers! LOL.

Oh I wasn't referring to you, Cookie. I was just saying on release day, I might not get to it. So I plan to avoid all conversations until I do. The folks will be out in full force when the book comes out. I have no self control. I will want to know even I can't read at that exact moment.

Great minds...I don't know about you guys but I really want more teasers on the Fae Queen/UK!! Before I didn't care for them because the Concubine was weak and fragile and boring. But now I sense some powerplay and delicious tension ratcheting up between the King and the Queen, since she's now super powerful and super fierce. She's gonna give the King a hard time ;)
They were another interesting dynamic that needs to be wrapped up.
Yes the king and queen r the original love story! But how will it play out? I still have this feeling the queen is going to be something for Dani! Because both her and Dani is obsess with the humans. In the highlander books she went out off her way to keep them save!!
I hope their part of the story will be interesting. I will probably just be wanting to skip ahead of everything to get to the Dani/Ryo parts! It will be so hard.

That's some legit foreshadowing, I didn't pick up on. Lol. So maybe Barrons has a split persona lol? And that split persona/entity is the tenth? It could just be Ryodan though...

I don't think that is a possible. That would be Mac betraying Barrons. I think we are lead to believe, from the blurb on the book, that Barrons is the one holding secrets and causing the rift. Also, I thought in the snippet Mac was talking to Dani and he tells her to let Dani go. Don't go after her.
Yes Samantha I think the same thing he is telling Mac to let Dani go and not to follow. I might be wrong but the nine respect Dani more then Mac? Because she is more like them! 1. Dani moves like them. 2. She does not bent to anybody. 3. She live with her hole being. 4. Hates the fae. 5. She never surrenders . There are more that I can mention all characteristics of the nine and Dani!!!!
I can't necessarily say they like her more than Mac because she is like them. That was why they wanted to kill her when she was young. Remember Ryodan says they wanted kill her when they first saw her but he didn't feel a need to do that. You are right though. She is who she is. No apologies for it. I think they respect that. She fights back and stands up for what she believes.
I know Lor and Ryodan seem to like Dani better, I don't know about the rest of them. Of course Ryodan might not care about Mac one way or the other and Lor might not either except for the fact that she knows some things about them, and seems to mean some thing to Barrons, the fact that he cares about her and apparently that's not allowed. Oh and lets not forget she knows how to kill them now.Are you sure it was Dani? It might have been I'll have to go and look. I thought it was one of those snippets on her facebook page.
Barron's is the first person to give us a idea what Dani will become. When he fetch Mac from the Abi just after Dani killed the UP he looks at Dani and his eyes says the same thing Ryodan and Christian says. You r going to be one hell of a woman!!!! So I do think he respects Dani!
Kristen, The current Seelie queen IS the concubine. Cruce hid the concubine among the Seelie by making her immortal and the Queen because he knew the UK would never look there for her. It looks like he made her drink from the Cauldron to make her forget her past too. So now the King has to start over with Aoibheal instead of his Concubine. I love this twist by the way.On Mac being a Seelie Princess. I don't think so. I think the UK called her his child because she has the Sinsar Dubh in her. But who knows what KMM had up her sleeve lol.
